"Our legends tell of the spirits of wind and magic that inhabit these woods, ancient beings that laugh at time itself. Some of the other tribes believe our kind were birthed in these lands tens of thousands of seasons past."

While the party does not see any 'spirits of wind' despite the ominous croaking and hooting and other forest noises (all of which seem strangely distorted and spooky), they do eventually spot a grouping of four humanoid creatures on the path ahead--one of whom appears to be the target of the others. The three green-garbed assailants advance menacingly on the lone creature.

"Hey! Leave her alone!"

The undead creatures start, and the prey begins to flutter away as fast as it can. Their meal interrupted, the three undead hiss with displeasure and turn their attention to the party, summoning a menagerie of twisted creatures to their aid. The fleeing fairy is swept up in the fighting, at least for the moment--the party will have to exercise caution if they don't want to harm it.

Actaeon stands firm, ready to attack from the back row with his Sanctified Rito Bow. His mind moves quickly, calculating the best order for them to attack in.

"Looks like only Warlen, Siecron, and maybe Mallelio can attack the undead. Diana," Actaeon says as he makes eye contact with the assassin, "Kill whoever you can," he says, trusting her to make the right decision. "Germ, I would suggest taking out that Canary to free ourselves of an extra hit."

Wow, that's the first pun I've made in a long time. "Everyone else, I'll leave it to your judgement. Just be absolutely sure to target different enemies, and make sure that the strongest ones don't get the free hits."

OoC: I'll get the order up ASAP, but I've got to do something first.

QM Note: One of the fairy's immunities vanished when I copied the stats over, it should be fixed now. :wink: You all have new weapons now--be sure to specify which one you're using. :wink:

Diana aims at the Grey Owl with her Sanctified Rito Gypsy Dart and the Vampire Bat with her Precision Bow, both from the Back Row.

"Any of us can tank the canary's hit, it's hella weak. I'm more worried about making sure the fairy gets away--if Siercon or Warlen get Magic Bursts or if Denerii flaps her wings too hard gets a SHIELD, that fairy is dead. We have a powerful healer and a few of us can take lots of damage--maybe we should have those three do nothing from the Back Row for a Round, and just deal with the Free Hits? Or do you want to take that risk?"

He then exaggeratively sat down cross legged in the back row and used his Sleep Scroll to cast Sleep on the Dark Druid (staff).

Warlen follows by example and Casts a Wind spell at The Dark Druid (Staff and Vine.)

"Woooah!" says Warlen as he starts to be swept off his feet...

- If you still choose this attack... and Flipz rolls you a 1, the fairy will die from your Shield. This is why I was simply using a scroll. If you want to avoid the 1/6th chance that you kill the faerie, you'd want to do nothing, or use an item/consumable from the back row since you don't have a scroll.

- Me you and Mallelio can all hurt the druid zombies. I am pokemon 'super effective' as i use a Diamond.

So basically it's listed in her stats. If she rolls her special, damage, OR has a free hit, she will run. That's pretty good odds. I doubt we'll do this dance for more than a round or two.

QM Note: Siercon is correct; as long as no one targets the fairy (and she isn't killed by a SHIELD or a bomb), she will flee at the end of the Round. Do also note that Actaeon can potentially kill her if he targets one of the Croakers with his Rito bow, though if he uses his regular bow instead of his Rito bow the fairy would still live with 4 HP. :wink:

OoC: I wonder what would happen if I used my Wrench on Croaker A or Croaker A. And can Deneril hurt the Dark Druids? And do we want the Fairy??? to run off? Because I think we should try to get the Warm Boot, unless I am missing some thing here.

QM Note: The Wrench would not reduce the Croakers' Level any lower. Denerii does not have an elemental weapon, so she cannot damage the Dark Druids unless she rolls a SHIELD. The only way to get the Fairy???'s loot is to kill her dead.

I can target someone three behind her in the battle order and she'd be fine no matter what, correct?

Ooc: ok, I added the swept of my feet bit in case I made a mistake.

Not yet being used to his wind abilities, and worried he would hurt the fairy, Warlen stops casting the spell, and stands in the back row.

He quickly does some practice perpetration for the next round, hoping the fairy would be gone.

Ooc: "Practice" spells won't cost me ether, right?

Hides for the Battle, and readies for counterattacking. That is my new battle strategy. .

Why does every fight turn until a church sermon? I hate churches they think they are the supreme law and completely right.

And No, I did not see the Dark Druids attack the Fairy??? and if the thing was in trouble why not flee or ask for help when we got involved.
