Actaeon suddenly remembers something. Using the Fairy's language, he speaks to her, "Are these druids here to hurt you? We're here to help you," he says in a soothing tone.

QM Note: That is correct. For the sake of moving things forward, I'll assume that to be your action, and Diana will change her attack to a different enemy. I'll start rolling the Round now. :wink:

Also, I have retconned the name of the Fairy's special (the Special itself is unchanged). Er, um, I mean, this is what it always said, how dare you insinuate it was ever any different. :tongue:

The fairy stares at Actaeon like a deer caught in the lantern beam of a runaway carriage.

The first round goes disastrously. Distracted by dissention from within, half of the party fail their attacks, though there is a bright moment as Mallelio's attempted healing startles one of the Dark Druids into inadvertently killing one of its own allies. Diana's concoction of chemicals turns the Round around by letting her roll way too many dice, and she manages to kill one of the fiery toads and seriously injure the Vampire Bat. In perfect conjunction, Actaeon launches an insanely powerful arrow that halves the Grey Owl's health. Left free to attack, the enemies rally and swarm over the Heroes. Germ gets burned by the Croaker's burning venom, and the Fairy knocks Warlen hard to the ground as she flees in fright. The Heroes see her (and her loot) disappear into the forest fog, followed by the briefest flash of light.

Ten enemies remain. The battle continues!

After Diana assassinates the croaker and severely damages the Vampire bat, Actaeon smirks and says, "Nice one, Diana!". 27 damage, he thinks, that is a new personal record!

"Now that the Fairy is gone, let's kill these things! If we have everyone attack or heal, only two of us will take a free hit."

Actaeon remains in the back row and again targets the Grey Owl with his Sanctified Rito Bow.

QM Note: Normally I would have had you guys stop attacking once the forest creatures were dead, but I initially miscalculated the damage from Take to the Skies and ran the whole Round before realizing that Denerii and Siercon had actually killed all of your targets. :blush:

Muttering darkly about Heroes and "enpeesys", Denerii takes to the skies with a mighty flap of her wings, flinging creatures against trees left and right. Not to be outdone, Siercon unleashes a mighty burst of magic that kills the last of the animals, though startled as he is by the Rito's sudden flight he mistakenly grabs his borrowed Topaz instead of his Diamond. Seeing all the other enemies defeated, Kiray steps into a Sentinel stance to defend the party next Round while Diana and Germ both steal Gold from their enemies but fail to cause any damage. Actaeon, likewise, unleashes another perfect shot, but the arrow cleaves right through the undead Druid without causing it any discomfort. Disoriented by the windstorm, Warlen takes a moment to locate Quarion; fortunately for him, his target is still disoriented from being flung against a tree. Mallelio's healing spell sears the club-carrying druid. Germ's burns continue to sizzle, and will knock him out next Round if they are not treated.

Three enemies remain, but two are Stunned, and the whole party is protected from physical damage next Round. The battle continues!

"Thank you Kiray! Let's storm this castle." With the added protection Siercon advances to the front row! "Someone switch with me for a second so I can get in close! Mallelio?"

Siercon switches both rows and targets. He attacks the Dark Druid (Club) from the front row with a light spell from his diamond.

OoC: Just so you guys know the main druid can still do damage as he is attacking with elemental damage. This is why I switched targets, so I can do full damage + double elemental damage vs dark + my front row power boost. Someone should keep him occupied from the back row (Probably Mallelio), but the rest of us should rush the other guys. Though half of us can't do any damage to any of the opponents anymore, we can still hope for your shields or do things like (Pickup wrench, heal, etc)

Burny Germ... Remedy? :(

OoC: Awesome! I follow how I did 40 damage, but I seem to be missing where I got the extra x2 multiplier for a normal spell. Attacking from the front row, means I do full damage, and since they are weak to light, they take double damage. 1x20x2. I can't seem to find out where the extra x2 is coming from. Unless they are taking double double damage for being both undead AND dark? So if one was to hit an Icy Plant Beast with a ruby would that make it x6? sry for the question, but didn't know I could do 80 damage, even with a great spell, and if I can well :D that's some good information to log away :) Thanks!

QM Note: Fixed. You can only use your own items on other characters, though of course if Germ wants to give you one of his Potions after the battle as compensation he is of course free to do so.

QM Note: Multipliers stack; you rolled a normal spell (which deals 20 damage from the front row), which was then multiplied *2 because Undead is weak to Light and *2 again because Dark is weak to Light. In the example you gave, a Fire spell or Fire-elemental weapon versus a Beast/Plant/Icy enemy would deal 2*2*2= 8x damage. :wink:

Note also that resistance and weakness can cancel each other out; for example, Dark enemies are completely immune to Darkness-elemental damage, but a Dark/Humanoid enemy takes 1x damage from Darkness, because the resistance from Dark is countered by the weakness from Humanoid. :wink:

Normally I'd go ahead and roll the Round, but since we won't be able to move forward until Monday anyway, I'll be sticking to 24-hour Rounds for now. :wink:
