Flipz Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 Ooc: what NPC? QM Note: You're controlling Nicole. OoC: Does that mean if we roll special damage while fighting this we get this? Or is that meant to say "allies" instead of enemies? Also, how did TheChosenMinifigure end up with Nicole? Not objecting, I'm just curious. QM Note: "Healing Nettles" heals the "Enemies" party; I've changed the wording for clarity. TCM got Nicole by virtue of Warlen having drawn her attention by asking about the value of the ship. Quote

Also state if you'd like to cast a spell; for example, in this case it would be written "Warlen casts a Darkness spell at the Lesser Roc through his gold-plated bat staff." In addition to the elemental multiplier (which in this case would only apply to the gryphon), spells are ranged (they deal full damage from the Back Row) while attacking with your staff would be a melee attack (deals only half damage from the Back Row). Siercon and Coral Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 "Indeed!" Siercon replied stepping up to the bow. 'A phoenix, magnificent creatures...' he thought 'I wish I could tame you..." Siercon stabs his Lullaby Wand into the Phoenix from the front row. He tried to time it in such a way that the bird might fall asleep over the railing and plummet to the ocean below. 'Falling from this high into a vast body of water can't be good for a Phoenix' he thought. Quote

OOC you might want to hold off using this until we land and are no longer with the airship people... I think they would recognize and want it back. That, and there is probably a chance that it would get chucked overboard and become irretrievable. That would suck, and that weapon is sick. Quote

OoC: Good point. I think it would help if it was listed who was targeting what. It is a pain in the rear to look on two different pages. Quote
Flipz Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 QM Note: As a player, I've found that periodically listing who's targeting what is highly appreciated by players, Party Leaders, and QMs alike. That's just a suggestion, though. I assure you, however, that throwing the wrench will not cause it to be lost; it will always land on the ship and be retrievable as usual--that's only fair. I make no guarantees as to the reaction of NPCs, however--the only way to find out if you are right is to try. Quote

I suggestion for Daeth to attack Mt. or marsh Dragonling. I also think Diana or Nicole should change target. Question about enemy attacks is, if a level two hit you you are damage by two HP? I will equipped my copper dagger. And attack the F. Dragonling from the front row. Edited July 15, 2014 by samuraiturtle Quote
Actaeon Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 I also think Diana or Nicole should change target. OoC: I advised the whole group to attack different people, Diana included, and hopefully since I had a longish conversation, Diana will listen to me. That should take care of that. Daeth where are you dude? My advice is he does not answer do not give him any gold/items as a penalty. I suggestion for Daeth to attack Mt. or marsh Dragonling. If he doesn't reply before the battle is over, I'll probably give him a bit less. But remember, battles can last for weeks in RL time, se he'll likely reply soon. Actaeon notices Yuji looking around, unsure of what to do, "Daeth, try your best to heal us! If you can't, target the Juvenile Hippogriff from the back row." OoC: This is me taking control of Daeth since it has been 24 hours. I'm also hoping that you have Diana attack an enemy who is not yet targeted, and who is a high level so we don't take a lot of free hit damage. She's a smart girl, she'd do that, right? Quote
Flipz Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) "All right, if the scientist's taking the gryphon, then I'm taking the Bird of Prey," Diana says, aiming her crossbow at the creature from the Back Row. "Actaeon, you're lucky I'm an Assassin--a Raider or a Sorcerer or even a basic Rogue would complain about having to attack something that doesn't drop gold. And leave something that's immune to instant kill for me next time--I can deal extra damage to them." QM Note: I'll run the round now. A couple things: Question about enemy attacks is, if a level two hit you you are damage by two HP? Yes, that is correct--though if you attack from the Back Row, that damage will be halved, so in that example you'd only lose 1 HP. Just remember that if you attack with your dagger from the Back Row, the damage you deal to the enemy will be halved as well, whereas the Wrench can be thrown from the Back Row and still deal full damage. I'll interpret that as a conditional action--Daeth will heal the most endangered party member or, if no one is injured, he will attack the Juvenile Hippogriff from the Back Row. If that was not your intention, let me know and I'll edit--though either way it's good to keep in mind that conditional actions are possible. As I said, running the Round now. Diana lets off a shot that barely clips her target as it flutters frantically around, while Siercon and Nicole falter, the latter taking a savage slash from the Gryphon and the former provoking the Phoenix into spewing hot flames across the entire party. Germ, meanwhile, proves that he has sufficiently bribed the random number goddess as he rolls ANOTHER 1, grabbing some golden scales from the Forest Dragonling as he ends its life, while Actaeon releases three arrows that bring two more dragonlings and the bird of prey to the brink of death. Warlen blasts the Roc with powerful spell of Darkness, while Daeth finishes the Round by patching everyone (except the automaton, who couldn't be healed that way but hadn't taken any damage anyway) back up to full health. "Good gods...I haven't had a Round like that in years!" "Perhapsss Mr. Daeth isss a Cleric of Mercutio." Stealth Shadow absorbs a hit with its armor, while Kiray and Diana are able to Dodge the blows aimed at them thanks to the automaton's shadowy aura. "Hey, watch it! Actaeon Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Actaeon grins, that could not have gone any better. You managed a triple shot, your party is healed, and you can't take damage next battle. Well done, I'd say! . "That was a prefect round! Keep it up! Diana, can you finish off the Bird of Prey? I appreciate your willingness to sacrifice potential gold, I think it will help everyone in the long run! Since we're immune to all damage, I want to focus on Phoenix so we can guarantee it doesn't last longer than the rest of it's allies. Siecron, can you target Phoenix again? And Nicole, can you switch to the Phoenix? You're our next big hitter. I also want us to finish off the ones with lower health so that we don't take free hit damage next round. So Kiray, I would recommend the Mountain Dragonling, since you hit 7. I'll target the marsh dragonling and hopefully take him out. Germ and Warlen, try taking out the other two dragonlings with only 2 HP, we won't have to deal with free hits if you can. Kiray, should Shadow maybe target Phoenix as well? We need damage on him, and we can't take damage, so it's a good time. And Daeth, since no one will take damage, attack Phoenix from the front row as well." Actaeon shouts all of this while springing to the back row and aiming at the Marsh Dragonling with his bow. OoC: Check my next comment to see why some things are crossed out.
