Kiray, Diana, and the Stealth Shadow all take out their targets, but their efforts are wasted as Siercon suddenly releases a burst of Light that wipes out all of the dragonlings. Perhaps taking this as a pissing contest, Warlen unleashes a burst of Darkness as well, vaporizing the Enraged Gryphon that Siercon's attack couldn't hit. With their original targets defeated before they can reach them, Germ, Actaeon, and Daeth's attacks carry through to the next enemy in line, in this case the Lesser Roc, Daeth's attack prompting the oversized bird to take a Heavenly Flight to restore its health and erasing the efforts of the other two. Perhaps if the three had prepared for the condition of their targets' fall, they could have chosen new targets instead.

Three enemies remain, one of which is badly weakened. The party is no longer protected by Sentinel.

OoC: Shouldn't Kiray hit more than four? She's level 4, with 7 Power, and a weapon with 3 WP. Meh, not that it matters, I probably missed something anyhow.

"Well done! With the dragonlings out of the picture, we have to be sure to focus down the Phoenix. We don't want our work to be for nothing! I suggest that we split our attacks equally, 3 on each, but with the three strongest on Phoenix. So, Siecron, Nicole, and Warlen are you up to attacking the Phoenix? Warlen, Kiray is already busy, and you've been dishing out a lot of damage. Everyone else just pick one or the other, but be sure to target the Phoenix if the one you picked is already Knocked Out. And Diana, I assume you want to target the Juvenile Hippogriff, since he is not immune to instakill?"

Daeth prepares to heal the weakest player, though if somehow, no one needs it, he gets ready to attack the Juvenile Hippogriff from the front row. He also is prepared to attack the Phoenix if his target is dead and no one needs healing.

"That could have gone better. I think that the Lesser Roc recovering may have helped us. Now we can be sure to take out the Phoenix. Siecron, Nicole, and Warlen, hit the stupid Phoenix again. Warlen, keep it up! Hopefully the battle will be over before you run out of Ether. Kiray, can you switch to the Phoenix? As much as I hate his damage, we need our 4 big hitters on him so that it's actually worth it. The rest of us will take the lesser Roc."

Diana launches a barrage of arrows, two of them pinning valuable feathers to the deck that she quickly scoops up. To everyone's surprise, one of the arrows hits a vulnerable point on the Phoenix and explodes, dealing extra damage to it.

"Told you I'm an Ace Assassin," Diana remarks smugly.

Siercon follows up on this success by finally eliminating the Phoenix, the creature bursting into flames and burning to ashes in response to the Mage's powerful beam of searing light. Unfortunately for the rest of the party, their efforts to kill the Roc are rendered all but futile as the pesky bird flies away again.

Only one enemy remains, but the party is running low on health.
