Cumulonimbus Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 I'm as impressed as any member here, but I have doubts about one thing. I saw your video and noticed that to control this wonderful machine you need to switch the red sliding gears by hand. In my opinion this is not something TLG would do in a set. This made me wonder about "official" methods to control functions. I'm struggeling with this in my own build and am curious if this would affect the scoring. Quote

Thank you for your comment, and honestly this has bugged me a little too, but I just came up with a much better solution by removing a bush, and discovering that the whole axle actually slides back and forth with the with the cable reel remaining stationary. I could not believe it that removing a part made it so much better and easier to use! Much more like an official set! I also will be taking pics again, this time using "RAW" format, which I have never used before. WOW what a difference it makes. THAT IS BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cumulonimbus Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Haha, nice solution! It is the essence of the "less is more" philosophy. By the way, is was wondering what those special liftarms are with only holes on the ends. Do you have a part number or numbers of sets which they were part of? RAW files are magic =P Very nice solution for the play functions. Either it's a breeze to use or you're a trained operator; you make the motions look so smooth in your video! Quote
Omikron Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 (edited) Doc_Brown, do you mean that now you don't need to slide gears but can slide the whole axles? Like here? Edited July 23, 2014 by Omikron Quote

Either it's a breeze to use or you're a trained operator; you make the motions look so smooth in your video! Thank you very much! It does require a bit of practice, but heaps of fun when you get the hang of it. Doc_Brown, do you mean that now you don't need to slide gears but can slide the whole axles? Like here? Yes exactly like that! Quote
timslegos Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Raw is fun to use but I think the saturation is a little over done in the latest photos. tim Quote
Kumbbl Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Most of the entries until now are very good Mini Models, but - as always in life - there is one absolutely outstanding: yours! Just triple awesome. If Not the winner then i would at least vote for a HoF entry! Quote
