Madoca 1977 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Hello everyone, This is my new creation, a copy of 1970's Chevrolet Corvette. It is a medium scale model driven by two L motors, steered by a Servo motor, and wearing 56mm tires. Weight is 1060g. Thanks to using 24t clutch gears, it smoothly accelerates and stops. Suspension travel is short and ground clearance is about one stud or so. But it is enough for driving on tarmac. Features, Four-wheel independent suspension. Working retractable headlights and tail lights. Openable hood, doors and 'trunk' (for access to 8878 rechargeable battery). Removable targa top. Video: Building instructions and more pictures:https://plus.google....64977943/albums I added this MOC to Rebrickable. I hope you will like and build it! Edited July 9, 2014 by Madoca 1977 Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Awesome car! Great job capturing the lines, that view from above is amazing. Always glad to see another MOC of yours, they're so well designed. Quote

Zerobricks Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Those are some nice foxy lines Can you reduce the axle lengths, so they dont sick out of the wheels so much? Quote
Appie Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Great job capturing the lines of the car. Like the mechanism for the front lights and the nice touch with the targa top, looks very good. Quote
grum64 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Great job capturing the lines of the car... Ditto Totally Awesome  Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Those are some nice foxy lines Can you reduce the axle lengths, so they dont sick out of the wheels so much? Don't think he wants to cut off the ends of 5.5 axles with stop :P Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 SuperB Vette and great lines , only the axle lengths are to long . Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Beautiful! You've captured the corvette lines nicely. Quote
tibivi Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 That's an fantastic looking stingray :p Good work on copying these lines  Quote
Balrog Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Sweet. I also find it impressive how much you pack into such "small" scale Quote
Nico van Duin Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Looks fantastic! I realy like the way you made the rear suspension using the unimog balljoint Quote
Madoca 1977 Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 Thank you all! And yes, I need axles 4.5L with stop and thicker tires. If I had 19L soft axles in black, I would build another Vette in black! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Sweet! Such perfect lines. Outstanding! awesome performance as a well! Quote
Zimix Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Why did you use clutch 24 tooth gears? 3rd line of 1st post Thanks to using 24t clutch gears, it smoothly accelerates and stops. and I always thought we need some kind of clutch, and did not try to use the one Lego has Edited July 9, 2014 by Zimix Quote
Meatman Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Would using 24 tooth clutch gears for the drive wear them out quickly? Quote
Madoca 1977 Posted July 9, 2014 Author Posted July 9, 2014 Why did you use clutch 24 tooth gears? I read this topic. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89999Since my Corvette is a mid scale model, using two clutch gears was a simple and effective way to use L motors with coasting behavior. With normal 24t gears, Corvette accelerates and stops abruptly a bit. Quote
jantjeuh Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Would using 24 tooth clutch gears for the drive wear them out quickly? Perhaps, but they're cheap anyway. Quote
