Lord Vladivus Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Scattered throughout the Moruth Swamplands are outposts occupied by the famed Moruth Rangers of Shadowmere. They are characterised by bones of opponents, and the largely open structures. The Moruth Rangers in all their glory. They are predominantly clad in leather armour, and bear longbows. Others species have been known to fight amongst the Moruth Rangers, but they are fewer in number than the humans that make up the bulk of the Rangers. Moruth Rangers are highly trained, and often found their way into other guilds as mercenaries and soldiers of fortune, prior to the emergence of Lord Vladivus in Nocturnus. With Vladivus' guidance, the Moruth Rangers have become a force under their Captain, Daon Ironblade, that is fanatically loyal to Valdivus and Shadowmere. C+C welcome. The build is inspired by one I did to represent Kashyyyk for SONE. Edited July 11, 2014 by Lord Vladivus Quote
MassEditor Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Nice work! All the little bone elements are awesome, a lot of details to appreciate there. Love those bamboo plants and the irregular base. Very cool! Quote
LordDan Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Nice! I like the hut. It feels perfect for the sinister swampy landscape. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Cheers guys! Regarding the bones, originally there was pretty much an entire dragon skeleton draped over the hut, but it played havoc with the colour scheme (white is very bright!). Quote
Alfadas Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Nice! One question, what is the torso you use? I don't recognize it. Great build! Quote
Rogue Angel Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Very nice build! I like the use of the Star Wars torsos for the Rangers, and the layout, tree and structure are all very well done. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Cheers guys! The Captain's torso is from the Gungan soldier, and the grunts have torsos from Zolm, the Hasanssin leader in Prince of Persia. Quote
Scaevola Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Nice work, I really like the base and bone decorations. The thin, twisting tree and hut are also great Quote
-Carson Haupt- Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 It seems very open, but is guess that's what you were going for! I like the idea, and the vaguely mushroomlike shape makes it seem right at home in the swamp! Quote
-Horizon- Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Great build LV! Though the Rangers steal the Spotlight cause they look great. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 That's right -I was thinking they were from one of the Jedi. Quote
Alfadas Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 The Captain's torso is from the Gungan soldier, and the grunts have torsos from Zolm, the Hasanssin leader in Prince of Persia. Thanks. I thought I had seen them before, just couldn't place them. Now I can. Quote
Jorrith Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Nice MOC! It does have that swamp feeling on it indeed! Quote
Gideon Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Nice landscaping and fig combos! The hut reminds me of Orcish architecture in Warcraft Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Cheers Gideon! Never really played WoW, but I guess somewhere along the line the inspiration has filtered in! Quote
mrcp6d Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I can't really point to anything specific, but I like this quite a bit. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 14, 2014 Author Posted July 14, 2014 (edited) Thanks mrcp6d! Edited July 14, 2014 by Lord Vladivus Quote
soccerkid6 Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Your irregular bases keep getting better and I like that you placed the outpost at a slight angle Really cool fig combos as well Quote
Gunman Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Nice job there LV, I really like the tree there and sharp photography. Nice one! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Cheers Gunman! I bought several of the orange mixels to get the parts to make one of those trees! Quote
