I don't know if this has been posted somewhere before, but I found some large pictures of the new Marketstreet set on Brickshelf. There has been a Dutch Legoclub-meeting and the person who designed Marketstreet apparently was there with his creation:

The sign in the first picture says:

"Unique! Worldpremiere. This model was designed by Erik Brok and will be available in stores soon"

Welcome to the new age of LEGO...love them..love the new city...love this year...need more

Well, I don't like the whole new IT MUST BE HUGE concept. Bring back 4-wide and Classic Town - something that can fit in the room.

Wow thats a sweet looking set, hmmm i may have to look into buying that one. *wub*

Very nice! Haven't seen these particular pics before but there's a thread with lots more pictures over in General LEGO.

I can't wait for this!

These are much better pictures of the new set, thanks Simon. I really do like the color scheme, although one has to wonder why this color scheme and not the same one that was used for Cafe Corner. Hmm... :-/

Well, most buildings have different color schemes anyway. It depends on who is the owner and what he/she decides to paint it in. :-)

Sorry, but i completely disagree. Time to stop living in the past, and get with the times. These new builings might be big, but there more to scale than anything we've had before. Classic town was nice, but not real enough. As for 4-wide, blah. Just doesn't do it for me anymore. Again, 6 and 8 wide gives more detail, and are more to scale than ever before. I understand that 8-wide might be a bit big for the current streets avaible, but just wait. I'm sure you'll be seeing street plates that are 2 to 3,or even 4-studs widder to acomodate the new vechicles. I for one can't wait!

I'm with you. For an AFOL, this is the future of Lego City: modularity, detail, clever building techniques, interesting colour mixes. This is what AFOLs have been posting on Brickshelf for years, and clamouring for on the forums for just as long.

No, no, no... *sad*

I agree with the fact that we have to live in our time (all new pieces...), but I don't think that having bigger building is a good way.

Yes for the modularity, yes for details, yes for clever building techniques but no for the size! I don't think that bigger means better! In fact we can have small sets with a lot of details, like in the big set. Just for example, take the so *wub* CC. Yes it's beautifull, yes it's detailed, but you can have the same spirit, the same building feeling iwith a smaller version.

One think that it's sure is bigger=more expensive... So I will prefer smaller sets with nice details, with an interior and less expensive.

Anyway, I'm not saying that I'm right or not, I just tell you my point of view like you do and I like to see what the others are thinking.

There are the old school city fans, the new school city fans, and me (I hope that I'm not alone :-P ) who try to make the better compromise between those two schools...

But sincerely, I don't think that we need big things for having beautifull things. It's a bigger challenge to try building beautifull mocs with a limited number and selection of bricks. It's easier to have more details when it's big...

I agree with you on the building size, but I think the world of 4-wide cars should go the way of Galidor. 6-wide cars are much more realistic. I think things should be mini-fig scale, but the four wide cars that seat one passengers are not to any scale. Cars are big machines that can fit several people. I hope that LEGO starts releasing passenger vehicles in the vain of the new trucks. 4-seaters, well at least 2-seaters with doors and exhaust pipes and other realistic details. If the building are getting more realistic, the cars should too.

Six wide on!

Totally!

The guys at VicLUG are getting used to me saying "4-wide is SOOO 1990's" and "Live in the NOW, man!"

6-wide cars fit the road plates just fine.

I'm a fan of 4-wide cars and 6-wide trucks, so? That's the reason I don't like very much the new buildings (corner cafe and market street), infact I did my own version of a corner cafe:

and here's a whole streer done assembling some of my LDD creations:

If someone is interested, I can upload all the models on my Lego Factory gallery.

Not to mention that building a whole city with the new size standards would require mooore bricks and mooore money...

Thank you simon for the pics. I definitly *wub* this set too. Thank you Mr. Hobbles for that price. This gives me a rough idea of the price in the US. Definitly affordable here too. I can't wait for the release in the US. TLC is definitly on a roll with a good thing. I can't wait to see the other buildings they will release.
