just2good Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 In Germany, the Demolition Site (Set 60076) has been released at the beginning of 2015. This is my review of this very cool set. And last month, you've got the Demolition Driller (Set 30312) for free (Lego Store and online), if you've bought sets for 30 Euro (and more). Very nice reviews for those sets. I unfortunately missed out on the little driller, but the Construction Site looks fun! Anyways, I really wish more people followed the LEGO Juniors theme. Like I showed before, that Supermarket set kicks butt. There's also this Beach Trip set that was just released for the line, and it's very well done! So overall, this set is great! It's only $10 USD, and I think there's a lot going on here for the price. I love the minifigure, who has an exclusive torso print and that very cool face print also found in the Supermarket set. The surfboard also has some great printing, as does the hood and headlights for the car. The rest of the set are some simple builds that are easy for the juniors that this set are targeted to, but also not too simplified to the point that they won't fit in a LEGO city for adults and older kids. I also like how the put the very uncommon LEGO Chihuahua piece in the set. Quote
Robert8 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) Cool review j2g but.... is that supposed to be yellow on the torso??? The lighting could be tricking me but it looks totally misprinted Love the surfboard, tho Edited March 8, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
just2good Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Cool review j2g but.... is that supposed to be yellow on the torso??? Yeah, it's yellow. The color is different from the one on the head because of the lime torso it's printed on. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Yeah, it's yellow. The color is different from the one on the head because of the lime torso it's printed on. What ? Lime is the new yellow ? There appears to be a big difference between the torso and arm colours ? I was thinking about buy this set for the minifig, but such a dramatic colour difference......I'm not sure. (maybe when it's on sale) But besides that it's still a cool sets that even the Friend's MOC builders could find plenty of useful parts in that set. Thanks again 'j2g' for your video review. Quote

(maybe when it's on sale) Well, I'm saying the torso is casted in lime, and then the printing has yellow as the color of her body. Hard to explain. Quote
wooootles Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 $10? That's worth it for the minifig, the crab and the dog, IMO. I'm pretty sure that car won't be rolling around my town anytime soon, lol Quote

I'm pretty sure that car won't be rolling around my town anytime soon, lol True on the fact of the parts and yeah, not sure about the car.....I prefer the six wides from the Friend's range. And the fact about the torso......well, I guess I can say the dye ran in her top or it's a lime green sun tan lotion ? Quote
Robert8 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I didn't notice the price before. $10 for that? And according to j2g that torso printing is exclusive. It's a great deal! But there is something that bothers me. A CMF is $4. So all rest of the pieces are only $6??? I don't think so.... I think LEGO is milking the CMF theme way too much. Quote

Not sure if milking is the right word if people keep buying them. If the sales were bad, they would have lowered the price or have stopped by now. Edited March 9, 2015 by Yeow Quote

I do agree but Lego might say that the cmf line has a lot of new mild like the dog mold we get in this set was paid for by it first bring in a cmf now they have made it it cost a lot less to put into a set. lightningtiger Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 The utility shuttle is more sci-fi than real life.......city designers must be losing the plot, just that the space shuttle has been retired so it's really not real life.....more historic than anything else. It makes more sense for the deep sea diving sets over space sets as compared also to the polar exploration sets from last year. Quote
Lego Engineer Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 The utility shuttle is more sci-fi than real life. I'm not overly fond of the utility shuttle but it definitely does resemble the real Sierra Nevada Dream Chaser which competed for NASA's Commercial Crew contract last year. Quote
mediumsnowman Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 (edited) The space sets look very nice, I'll probably get the starter set and the training jet. I'll pass on the shuttles as I already have this (http://brickset.com/sets/10213-1)! Edited March 13, 2015 by mediumsnowman Quote
Blakstone Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I will probably just get the space starter for the female scientist torso and the computer monitor. Quote
Bennemans Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Anyways, I really wish more people followed the LEGO Juniors theme. Don't worry, I already do ;) You're not alone! I got the supermarket the day it came out, and I plan on getting the beach set next week. I also got 4 Pony Farms (fo' cheaps) in the past year as parts packs. I do understand why loads of people have no interest in the Juniors sets though. Most people have no use for those giant, bulky "easy build" pieces. And the Juniors sets in suitcases or tubs are painfully overpriced! The supermarket suitcase is almost 19 cents per piece (in euros)! NINETEEN FREAKIN' CENTS!! And if there's some useless (to most AFOLs) parts in there, that raises the price per usable piece to an absolute unreasonable hight. Quote
Robert8 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 (edited) The Training Jet Transporter set is... not good. The jet reminds me of the late 90's sets and that's not a good thing. Spaceport looks good but it's way overpriced.... I think Utility Shuttle is the only one I'll get Overall, I'm kinda dissapointed with these Divers/Space sets but my wallet rejoices! Edited March 14, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
SMC Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I just don't like the front of the Jet, the rest looks good. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 The jet doesn't look that crash hot as compared to the truck carrying it......miss there Lego. I would like to know their logic or reasoning behind some of the sub-themes or sets......some are awesome and some are just simply meh. Quote
Spud The Viking Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Meh... I'll maybe buy the utility shuttle, but the set is still a bit rubbish. Poor pricing on the launch site. Is this year just a reboot year? Space, pirates etc Quote

I love the minifigure, who has an exclusive torso print and that very cool face print also found in the Supermarket set. Agree. Though the building experience is simplified, the parts are compatible and useful with regular sets. I understand that the bigger bricks may offense some proffesional builders, but I expect to see more kinds of big walls that can help designing bigger buildings too.The thing I'm concerned about is the "pink box marketing". It could be traced back to the earlier brick boxes, but the weird thing is that LEGO found that minifigures don't appeal girls so they use something else in girls-oriented themes, and now the pink box sets which are presumed to target at girls look just contradictory to that saying. Why no Junior version of Friends sets coming with Friends minidolls or minifigures? They had to give new prints, after all, and the result looks like a kind of waste of chance or favor. Quote
El Garfio Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I have found some girly junior sets very interesting for my city. A lot of printed parts, new torsos and the percent of pink elements is tolerable. I have the horse farm, and I'm working with the walls for building something more adult. I have also this car and the supermarket suitcase, and it find that their parts can also be suitable in my future constructions. Quote

I don't really understand what you are complaining about here. As far as I've understood you right, for a long time already, you've wanted to see Friends-style sets with minifigs. Now you've got them, under the Junior label. Girly sets for girls, but with minifigs, not minidolls. Right? Quote
El Garfio Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 A €25-30 / 300 pieces junior bucket with a hairdresser, or a shop and an extra bag of pieces for alternative building could be a hit for the second semester. All kind of citizable sets are welcome. I like minidolls more than minifigs, and I would like there were more male minidolls. And also I would prefer that TLG have includes minidolls in the new licenses (I'm sorry, but I find scooby doo and star wars rebels minifigs unnatural). Quote
