lightningtiger Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 A set called fire starter kit.....for children, yeah.....not a great name - would say it might be similar to starter set from 2013 with the little fire van, small ambulance and police bike in it so it might not be much of fire truck so it could have some scenery that's on fire.....well that's my guess. Photos won't start appearing for at least three more months. Quote
CrazyDalton777 Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 The LEGO police should be based on a LAPD style Livery (but say LCPD). I also think LEGO needs a School Bus set, I don't think LEGO ever made a school bus. Quote
Dorayaki Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) I also think LEGO needs a School Bus set, I don't think LEGO ever made a school bus. If you're replying to the City thread, there have even been no City schools, as I know. If Summer Riding Camp is sort of school, this is a school bus(van?) : The real official school bus is 10528 from Duplo, but I'm afraid that's not what you want. Weirdly school buses have appeared many times in Ninjago cartoon. Edited August 2, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
CrazyDalton777 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I know there have been no schools in the CITY range but if you think about it, there hasn't been a race track recently and LEGO made the Race Car, same with some of the other vehicle set. n fact its time LEGO makes a CITY school with classic school bus. Quote
jfbat Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 An American style schoolbus would be kind of off for City, they rarely do vehicles you would only see in the US and mostly stick to European styled vehicles. It would be nice, though. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 There might be a reason why no schools or school buses in the city range, since it appears that Lego City is a police state with all the police sets......and lots of criminals there.....they don't want to have children minfigs being in harms way......just a thought. Though this chat about a school bus or race track sound like wishes.....and there is a separate topic for that. We have a long wait to see pictures still.....months away. Quote
jfbat Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) Hey, it's not just police and firemen! We're getting a demolition site, too, next year! Probably to break down those terribly vandalized buildings that have no other use than to act as hideaways for all those criminals. And to prepare for Emmet and his collegues for the Lego Movie 2 sets... Jokes aside, very interested in those demolition sets. Edited August 2, 2014 by jfbat Quote

Well, there have been buses in CITY, so it shouldn't be difficult for LEGO to make a sole school bus set. Since we've got Heartlake High last year, getting a CITY school is not the major demand for now. I'm not sure that education is the reason, but yeah, CITY Undercover didn't show any school thing or children-related crime. Let's hope schools or libraries would be the choices of future Creator/Modular sets. Quote

I used the race car as an example, there could be a school bus set without the school, just like there is a Race car with no track to race it on but I'd like a link to that wish thread if you wouldn't mind (save me plaguing this thread). lightningtiger Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Before this drifts off topic, if you want a school bus......modify a bus into one, a race track.....MOC it......we are AFOL's right ? No sense clogging up this topic with wishes and dream lists, I'm really holding out to see these de-construction vehicles. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Some sets sound exciting, but the police ones don't. *sigh* Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 To the Water Police sets: Do you, too, think that we'll get two new police officer prints? Maybe one with a life jacket and one regular? Maybe TLG even gives us a police diver? And again to the Fire Starter Kit: Since last year's Fire sets will for sure still be on the shelves in the most toy shops in 2015, too, I bet that there won't be any fire vehicles inside the set we already had gotten in this line (so no "ladder truck", no chief's car and no motorcycle). So I hope for a decent equipment car and some sort of smaller car like a suv or so. As minifigs (since the set is surely somewhere between 25 and 30 Euros) I go for the three different fire minifigures (regular fireman, fireman with warning vest and fire chief). And for sure there's something burning in the set and hopefully even a lot of equipment for the firefighters. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter Quote

jonwil Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 I suspect the water police sets will use the existing yellow life jacket element and wouldn't print it on the torso. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 My Police Dept.'s Marine Division wears the distinct uniform of zipped up black jacket, life jacket worn above, and a white baseball cap. If the new torso is interesting enough I might go ahead and swap out, but it's no priority. Quote

But the police state may finally be breaking down. Look we are getting a Demolition set and a Firestarter set. Maybe the lemonheads are finally standing up to their oppressive police overlords. VIVA LE REVOLUTION! /sigh I can dream, can't I? I mean they did give us a Riot Squad to crack Football/Soccer Hooligan skulls with that one time? Quote
AirborneAFOL Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Please no City school! The Heartlake High in the Friends line makes me feel quite superior in my schoolhouse MOC - if City or Creator ever released a proper school, I fear I'd be left with a big abandoned building as all my kids transferred away... tikicult Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 What a boring list. I'm tired of seeing the same things year after year. Lego has to go with what sells, I guess. Quote
lightningtiger Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) Swamp police.......great we now know that Lego City designers are like me......watch too much A&E ! What's next a family of duck hunters or bounty hunters or besties who repo cars and trucks ? Looking at recent subthemes, forest, mining, even Arctic can all be tied to a A&E series ! Edit - funny those prices sound like what we pay in Australia ? I've been told by a reliable source that dealers won't see the catalogue for next year till September some time. Joebot Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Swamp police. Wow. That seems very ... specific. Obviously Lego's obsession with police / fire is well-documented by this point. But in reading through the list that CM4Sci posted, it occurred to me that Lego has another obsession that maybe isn't so widely recognized -- "transporters." That is, a truck with a wagon that's hauling some other vehicle (motorcycles, boats, jet skis, helicopters, etc.). Just within that list, I'm guessing there are at least five of these types of sets: 39.99 - Dune Buggy Trailer 39.99 - Pickup Tow Truck 39.99 - Racing Bike Transporter 49.99 - 4x4 with Powerboat 69.99 - Excavator & Truck In 2014, we had four: 60045 - Police Patrol 60049 - Helicopter Transporter 60058 - SUV with Watercraft 60060 - Auto Transporter Quote

TheLegoPerson9 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 The Police Helicopter mentioned in the first page interests me. I actually don't mind the police sets. I just wish they'd balance it out and include more. And buildings. Small buildings can be done as well in their own sets. They don't all have to be big like the police/fire station. Quote
fhomess Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Interesting prices. $60 for a bulldozer must mean it can knock down a city block in 2 seconds or there's a lot more to it. The $100 crooks hideout better be pretty impressive, too, and I hope it'll fill a decent role as a residential/commercial building of some sort. Quote
