Kintobor Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 Hoke investigates the items laying about the sun room as well as the various plants. He also looks for possible concealed places where one so inclined may break/sneak in. The plants potted in the room appear to be tropical in nature. Looking about, he can't find any concealed areas to sneak or break into from. Alexandre inspects the glass, and then examines the mushroom carefully. The glass surrounding the Sun Room seems brittle and thin. A few cracks are already present in the windows. Looking the mushroom over, Alexandre isn't quite sure what to make of it. It may be helpful, it may not. He didn't have the credentials to determine what it was. Arthur uses his Magnifying Glass to examine the bookshelves for any traps, triggers, and/or hidden passages. Looking around the Library's bookshelves, Arthur comes across many varying titles: Among the Sheep Tribe, Love Amidst the Dragons, A Collection of Pyrian Tragedy and Comedy, How to Train Your Dragon, War and Bricks, 1001 Abran Nights, Loot Island... however, his magnifying glass pulls nothing up. Lind, hearing the breathing, spins around to see the source. While he does so, he draws the Frozen Saber Hoke lent him. He also draws a deep breath so as to be able to call and alert his companions if he is facing an enemy. Turning around, Lind comes face to face with huge, hulking werewolf! Arms raised above his head, the beast lets loose a horrible roar as the munchkin turned to face him. It really was a horrible roar. The werewolf doubled over, trying hard not to laugh but failing. "Hah! You shoulda seen the look on your face! Oh, this is gonna be a fun night." Guts uses his life of experience dealing with valuable weapons and his magnifying glass to inspect and taxate the sword. He also looks for any mechanisms or traps around the item. Looking the sword over, Guts can tell the weapon is worth over 400 gold easily. Their doesn't appear to be any traps around the sword. Quote

"Hah! You shoulda seen the look on your face! Oh, this is gonna be a fun night." With the ever-present mindfulness so well attributed to his kind, not wasting a moment worrying over the size of the beast, Lind attacks the werewolf without pause. I'm assuming that he probably wouldn't tell me anything if I asked him. Also, when I talk about mindfulness, I'm saying that Lind doesn't need time to "let his heart calm down." Granted, a really mindful person would probably run away instantly, but I was also assuming that the werewolf, although definitely not something I should engage for more than one round, is partially incapacitated by his laughter, and is not as able to attack directly? (Of course, this is a game of dice, not a game of complete real-world accuracy, but I figure it can't hurt asking.) Also, I'm really sorry that I didn't post quicker - I just finished an eight-hour car trip that should only have lasted five... Edited July 27, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote

"Guys," he calls out while he's still walking through the upstairs hallway, "Have you figured out what the valuable item in each room is? Maybe we should just grab 'em and keep 'em in the cellar with us." Returning to the Library, Arthur can determine that globe must be worth something. Discovering a latch, he opens the globe up to reveal a hidden set of shot glasses and a bottle of wine, stamped with the Akrone Vineyard's seal. Arthur can determine that perhaps a few of the books are valuable, the entire set is worth a bit in gold. Would the thieves attempt to steal the entire library's collection? Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Alexandre finds Arthur and says "does anyone know about that globe? If not we could hide things in there. Also, I wonder if one or two of the books were removed, then the set might become worthless. So maybe we should split them up? " Quote

Lind Whisperer Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Looking around, Lind can't find anything of value besides, well, personal valuables akin to jewelry and clothing. Looking the clothes over, they seem mundane enough, although very elegant and light. Looking up the fireplace, Lind can't really see how small it is or how if the flue is shut; it appears Sally has forgotten to clean the chimney's for quite some time. Lind spreads the jewelry out on the bed, using the best of his limited knowledge of petrology(mostly gleaned from repeated readings of Twenty and One Days Among the Rock Hounds by Jewels Vern.) to try to ascertain if any of them are of value significant to steal, and if any of them form a set which would be worth stealing. He then checks underneath the bed, to see if there is anything stashed down there. Action 1: Lind stepped back to the chimney. Bending over, he thrusts his arm up into the flue, his fingers searching for anything that might be stuffed away up there. Action 2: Lind grips the Ethereal Deck in his hand. Although the light does not seem to come from the cards directly, a glowing aurora seems to surround them. Looking up into the chimney, he suddenly tosses the cards upwards. They fly up with a sound like a sword being rapidly unsheathed, as if they are cutting the air itself. They cast just enough light to see if the chimney is holding anything inside it**. *If it's that the flue is too small to stick his head up, Lind makes Action 1, if it's that it's too dark to see to the top, Lind makes Action 2. **If I'm pushing the RP to far with this, and giving things RP abilities that are too powerful, I apologize. I've always pictured Lind's battle stance as him throwing this hand of brightly glowing cards, and I was applying that here. If I'm pushing too hard, I can change my action. I know I'm probably barking up the wrong tree(or throwing cards up the wrong flue), but I'm not sure where else a valuable might be hiding, if it's not in the jewelry or under the bed... Quote
