Lind Whisperer Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 As he does the tasks mentioned earlier, Lind calls to Hoke. "Check to see if there's any healing potions in the medicine credenza, beneficial bath salts, etc. Also, I don't suppose there's anything gold-plated?" Quote

Kintobor Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 "Just you and me...that might be a plan. You carry it down to the cellar while I grab a couple key books." Arthur removes Love Amidst the Dragons and How to Train Your Dragon from the shelf. Arthur snags the two books and stuffs them onto his person. "Sorry, sorry, yer right. It's gettin' late and I'm just foolin' around. C'mon, Arx, let's go check the hallways." Thormanil and Arx step out of the master bedroom into the Upstairs Hallway, taking better note of the surroundings this time than when they had first hurried through to get ahead of Lind. Thormanil makes his way into the Upstairs Hallway. Looking around, he notices a painting of a man standing next to a bottle of wine covering one of the walls. A plaque on the painting reads "Master of the House, Percival Akrone" Hoke enters the trophy room and examines all of the items of worth. Looking around, Hoke takes note of the glistening sword, the headpiece, the statue over the fireplace, an old elvish shield, and a banner in the corner, all looking rather pricy. Lind spreads the jewelry out on the bed, using the best of his limited knowledge of petrology(mostly gleaned from repeated readings of Twenty and One Days Among the Rock Hounds by Jewels Vern.) to try to ascertain if any of them are of value significant to steal, and if any of them form a set which would be worth stealing. He then checks underneath the bed, to see if there is anything stashed down there. Action 1: Lind stepped back to the chimney. Bending over, he thrusts his arm up into the flue, his fingers searching for anything that might be stuffed away up there. Action 2: Lind grips the Ethereal Deck in his hand. Although the light does not seem to come from the cards directly, a glowing aurora seems to surround them. Looking up into the chimney, he suddenly tosses the cards upwards. They fly up with a sound like a sword being rapidly unsheathed, as if they are cutting the air itself. They cast just enough light to see if the chimney is holding anything inside it**. Looking the jewelry over, Lind can discern that there's value to all the jewelry, although some more than others. A few earring match, but for the most part, nothing seems to make a set. Looking under the bed, Lind finds dust bunnies and a rather skimpy night gown. Considering the dust on it, it appears to have been forgotten about for quite some time. Lind then decides to shove his arm up the chimney, in hopes of finding something. However, he only manages to get his arm stuck... Guts takes the shiny sword with him and gives the room a once over for anything else remarkable, including opening the chest. He then turns to Alexandre again. "It's an expensive mushroom, sure, but not worth this 'master thief's' attention. I say we make use of it, before our enemies do. If you're not eating it, I am." Guts lifts up the shiny sword, and places it with the rest of his goodies, surprisingly not suffering any severe back pain from the amount of wares he has on his spine. Valuable Scimitar (WP: 3, worth a large sum, taken from the Akrone Trophy Room) The other items seem valuable, but not as much as the sword. Looking through the chest, Guts finds various drawing books depicting locations from around the world, including some sketches of Strivvi. The name Percival is signed on all of them. Hoke walks in the Trophy Room and sees Guts and Alexandre are already there. He nods and heads off to the Bathing Room as it seems it's the only room left upstairs unexplored. Hoke announces his presence at the door to make sure the room is not in use. Hoke knocks on the door and waits patiently... there doesn't appear to be anyone using the loo. Alexandre replies to Guts. "I'll consume the muhsroomm " Then Alexandre helps Arthur bring the books to the cellar. Alexandre devours the mushroom, feeling his power increase. The clock strikes again from the foyer, this time ringing in the half hour mark. It was six-thirty, as the house began to darken. Lit candles illuminated the house, but as the moon began to rise, shadows began to encroach the corners of the house. In the distance, a faint wolf's howl breaks the quiet. How long would the party have before the house would be set upon by Alfendi Lupine? The party continues to explore the manor. QM Note: Quote

Still believing against hope that there's something in the Master Bedroom, Lind scans the room for anything of value he might have over-looked, and then searches the walls, floor, and ceiling carefully for any signs of a hidden cupboard, safe or cranny where something might be concealed. Lind attempts to jerk his arm free to no avail. Even his munchkin abilities can't free him from the predicament he's in. Perhaps he'd have to call for help? Arthur returns to the wine cellar with the books and the globe. "Well, that's it for me. We'll want at least one person down here at all times, might as well be me. Looking around the foyer, Thormanil notices the large clock they'd heard throughout the evening. A few potted plants sit about the room. "Will do." Looking about the rack, Arthur notices a few bottles that look similar to the painting upstairs. They're positioned in the rack with the rest of the aging wines, branded with a Shadeux stamp. Hoke cautiously enters the Bathing Room, once again announcing his presence. He searches the room thoroughly for anything of value and for possible points of ingress and egress. Hoke announces his presence to no one in particular as he enters the bathing room. A small tub and sink rest in the room, while a toilet sits nearby. Looking about, he finds some incense, imported from Luosh. They have a clean, lylac-y smell to them. Alexandre enters the dining room, looking for expensive china and examining his surroundings. Although not finding any fine china, Alexandre takes not of the chairs and table, which appears to be not only old, but valuable, as their in near perfect condition. Quote

Flipz Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Arthur yawns. He'd prepared for any number of possible methods of danger and intrusion, but boredom hadn't been one of them. As he checks the wine collection for any sign of tampering for what felt like the third time, his mind wanders. Maybe I ought to read something... Just then, a slip of pink paper poofs into existence. "Again?? Didn't I tell her--" Arthur stops. He had, last Grogmas. Is that who the package is from? he wonders. He signs his name to the lottery as usual, then rummages in his pack until he finds the forgotten package he had yet to unwrap... Quote
