Posted July 18, 201410 yr Flickr seems to change so often that it's hard to keep up with all of its functions. There have been a number of questions about deeplinking from Flickr recently, so I hope people find this short tutorial helpful. I have included TWO ways of sharing pictures from Flickr in this tutorial; using the "Share" button and through the "Download" button. Embedding pictures using the "Share button. Embedding pictures using the "Download" button. Feel free to post questions about Flickr here and anyone can answer them. For any other questions, ie anything not relating to flickr, please check the FAQ tab in the upper right of the forum, or post in the HELP! ! ! topic here in Forum Information and Help.
July 19, 201410 yr Why is the second part after of the tutorial (after previewing the post) necessary? Isn't it enough to paste the BB code and that's it? Or is it more than one tutorial? Does it have advantages to follow the whole thing?
July 19, 201410 yr Isn't it enough to paste the BB code and that's it? Yes, it is. Or is it more than one tutorial? Does it have advantages to follow the whole thing? The tutorial describes two different ways to embed images in posts.
July 19, 201410 yr Author Or is it more than one tutorial? Does it have advantages to follow the whole thing? It's a tutorial showing two ways of embedding a picture. Hopefully that's a little clearer now as I've edited the tutorial.
July 20, 201410 yr just want to add info. on the second method, instead of selecting "copy image URL", you can also select "copy image" instead, and then on the topic editor, just press ctrl+v.
July 20, 201410 yr Embedding pictures using the "Download" button actually deviates from Flickr's guideline. Edited July 20, 201410 yr by Herman Lee
July 20, 201410 yr Hmm, maybe we should not bring Flickrs Wrath over us by violating their rules? Edited July 20, 201410 yr by Wardancer
August 16, 201410 yr OK, I have tried both methods described for Flickr. This is what I get for "Share" <a href=" title="2014-08-06 15.18.38 by Jeff Stuibhart, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5559/14660519397_753ced8303.jpg" width="453" height="500" alt="2014-08-06 15.18.38"></a> Which just gives me a broken link icon. When I try to "download", I do NOT get an option to "copy image URL". I have spent about 4 hrs trying to upload 6 pictures and I am WAY frustrated! Help please!!!! AHA!!!! I think I may have reinvented the wheel, by accident. I THINK I figured it out............ "https://www.flickr.c...04/14660519397 OK, these links go to my pic, but still don't work with the EB embed. : ((( WAHAAAAAAA GRRRHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!1 "https://www.flickr.c...04/14660519397
August 16, 201410 yr OK, I have tried both methods described for Flickr. This is what I get for "Share" Be sure to select BBcode instead of HTML. When I try to "download", I do NOT get an option to "copy image URL". What it is called is browser-dependent. In Chrome it is called "Copy Image URL", in Firefox it is called "Copy Image Location" and in Internet Explorer you have to select "Copy" when you right-click on an image. Be sure to wrap the resulting URL in "img" tags, which can be done using the image button in rich text mode or typing out the "img" tags: [img=<url to image>]
August 17, 201410 yr Guys,if you are still struggling then there is a much simpler way of embedding pictures from Flickr.... 1) Find the picture you want. 2) On Flickr click on all view all sizes (If using google images then - view image). 3) Select the size you want, then right click and copy image. 4) In your Eurobricks reply box right click and past image. Done.
August 19, 201410 yr Many thanks - When Brickset went down earlier and I needed to embed an image I was stumped until I found this.
August 28, 201410 yr I'm having trouble putting up images, for some reason it won't allow me to paste straight into the reply box, and when I go to "Image" it wont allow me click OK or exit the pop up without closing the page... :/
October 24, 201410 yr https://www.flickr.c...er/11105908404/ How do I get this onto EB as an actual image? The download button is gone, and the share button is not an option on the individual pics, only for the whole photostream. I am not able to change the size, find the BBcode, or anything. This kind of thing is very hard for me to begin with, and if I can't post pictures of my creations, there really is no point in making a thread about it.
October 24, 201410 yr There is an icon in the right hand corner of the black band the image appears in. It looks like an arrow pointing to a line. Click that and select "View All Sizes" Then you can choose the appropriate size to post: I use firefox, so if I right click the image I can choose to copy image location. I am not sure of Chrome, but in IE right click will let you look at the properties which will have the full URL. Then you can past that into the forum image dialogue box. TaaDaa EDIT Or, you can use the share button. Really, this whole tutorial seems to work just fine... What browser are you using?
October 24, 201410 yr Thank you for your help. Yes the tutorial is fine. It appears that my com is just weird. Flickr behaves normally on the other com I have, Mine is using the latest Linux Mint OS with the Firefox browser. It seems my Noscript has not allowed all the Flickr functions to be available while the program is running. Anyone with this feature would have to individually whitelist all the websites integrated scripts in order to use all the buttons. Funny, because I know I have posted pics here before, but it must not have been on this particular terminal. Thanks again.
December 22, 201410 yr I seem to be having trouble. I went to flickr, picked the picture I wanted to post, clicked on the arrow, copied the embed link, pasted it in the dialog box like this: <iframe src="https://www.flickr.c...099937/player/" width="320" height="213" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe> And it doesn't seem to put the actual picture in the post. Just the link with some weird characters around it. -Pete Edited December 22, 201410 yr by par016

It should have brackets [ and ] rather than arrows < and > Another thing is that it looks like you are trying to stick a slideshow or video into the post. Videos from Flickr won't work to embed in EB, you'd have to link that one.
