I really like the new wing mold. I hope down the line they redo it in black. What do you guys prefer.

The old wing mold or the new?

Thank you so much for splitting the Marvel and DC. The number of pages before was incredible! Can't wait to find the stuff we want quicker.

Good news for Green Lantern fans! Looks fun, and a new Batman!

This might belong in the Marvel 2015 thread, I'm not really sure, but is anyone else looking at Batman's "space wings" and thinking Winter Soldier Falcon custom?

Oh and would it not be better for them to print black legs with green boots for Green Lantern?

It looks like LEGO can't print on that area where the toes come out of the foot. Iron Man for example has prints on the higher "hip" area, and toe printing, but you can see they leave the middle area blank. Even on the recent Sandcrawler C-3P0, the silver printing on his right leg ends at the "knee", even though his entire lower leg should be silver.

Because of this limitation in their prints, it means the only way to get good boots on any minifig ith regular legs is to have the legs be in the color of the boots, then print the rest of the legs onto them. Wonder Woman takes this trick to its extreme, with even the sides of her legs printed with her skin, but it's clear the the color of the plastic is red, after her boots.

The new set looks great, by the way. After so many Batvehicles it's so refreshing to see someone else get a themed vehicle, and a jet construct for Hal just fits so well! I do wonder though if, rather than power rings, there will be lanterns scattered throughout all of next year's sets, to act as collectible items.

Awesome set. Sinestro, Green Lantern and Space Batman together for low price? Count me in. Also some nice elements here (printed Sinestro Corps symbol, Ninjago techno weapon and lightsaber blade in trans yellow).

YES!!

Green Lanteeeeerrrnn

And that Sinestro is really cool, too! Though I kinda hope he has a double-sided head as well, the other side having a slightly more neutral looking face.

I definitely agree that the flat version of the widow's peak (the one that comes with Draco Malfoy and Zod, amongst others) would suit Sinestro far better, but I'm not gonna complain about this 'raised widow's peak' cause I really love that hair-piece and I can certainly use more of it :cry_happy:

The Space Batman is also really awesome.

Will be buying this set for sure!

Regards,

Mitch

GL, Sinestro and a few bricks at a low price. Seeing as how people buy Superhero sets for the characters more so than the build, I think DC Lego got it right. Hopefully this instance is going to be the norm rather than exception. The last DC set that wasn't Bat-based was the Superman/WW/Lex set, I think. And that was a couple years ago.

This set is great. Really good to see a Bat variant that people are happy with... and it's in a set that's only £20!

I like the Sinestro too... I agree that I think the hair is like that to emphasise the forehead maybe? We can always mod the Bat hairpiece to paint the ears and we're good to go.

Looks like I'll have to pick a couple of these up and make myself a John Stewart too.

As much as this set is good... it really excites me as to what they're planning for the rest of the wave... How many of those new variants and figures... especially in the larger sets in the wave. I'm definitely thinking Watchtower now based on the comment about the theme being more varied this time round.

Interested to see if the packaging has a GL logo on it rather than a Batman one... seeing as he's the supporting character on it.

You're forgetting the Man of Steel sets from 2013.

Wow, that is one good explanation, never looked at this that way. But you are obviously right, nice to see someone putting effort into a proven point! I totally agree after seeing the pictures you posted.

Sorry I've posted this twice but I posted it in the wrong forum at first.

So when can we expect to see a set list for the rest of this wave?

Soon I hope.

Hopefully lego will release pics of all the 2015 minifigs and we'll be able to at least speculate what the sets will be,

Just wondering, that cape thing lying on the ground next to batman, could it be a new cape that wraps around Batman's shoulders to look something like this:

I don't think it's for that purpose. I think more likely it will be printed to look like the space wings but in a folded down position--so you can swap out the wings for normal or flight mode.

The new space wings are plainly for that purpose, and they look great, especially if they have the technological printing. The glider wings work well for his Gotham costumes. I have no idea why, as I'm primarily a Batman fan, but I'm really hoping for a set with the new Wonder Woman and Cheetah!

I am pretty sure that this is not a cloth cape like we know. In my opinion it is also a hard plastic piece to interchange between opened wings (like in the set picture we all know) and folded wings, as seen in the trailer:

It's not quite the same, but I thought so, too. LEGO's teasing us with the set more with the cape than the other sets in the wave!

Yeah you can choose between the two capes. You just removed the back and place any of them in two or three studs on Batman's back.

Last year we heard rumors in early August, when a forumite reported what he had seen in the retailers' catalog

I remember that. Loose descriptions of each set that we saw images of prior to their release. I hope we get some better info this year, though, because LEGO really knew what they were doing by showcasing Green Lantern vs. Sinestro to tease us!

Thanks! It took me a while to figure out myself, but once the IM3 wave came in I put two and two together.

I'm also of the mind that we're bound to get Cheetah this wave. The Dawn of Justice push really allowed the DC design team to stretch their legs for this one, and it's nice to see that right away, they put out a set where Batman is the one who doesn't have to be there.

With New 52 Wonder Woman happily participating in the Batman Day poster, and the fact that the GL set comes with a GL bad guy, and with Brainiac as the bag bad and signs of Cheetah being a prominent character in-game, we can assume that we will be getting at least two more sets directly based on Beyond Gotham:

a. A set featuring New 52 Superman versus Brainiac in his skull ship. Batman may or may not be present, since WB has established that Supes can carry merchandise all by himself,

and

b. A set featuring New 52 Wonder Woman facing off against Cheetah. This one may not even be set against the Beyond Gotham backdrop, and could simply be them fighting in the jungle, but we'd get a Batman here for sure.

Did anyone notice any other possible versus sets we could get with the rest of the confirmed League? There's still Cyborg, and J'onn having a new costume could be good news.

Firefly, Killer Croc, and Grundy are possible villains, and Ventriloquist could be as well. Cyborg's importance makes think we can expect him somewhere.
