Well..It seems dark blue to me, too :D But after all those are still prelims, so we all do not know for sure.

It's clear that the only reason the dark blue hood is being used because LEGO haven't previously made that piece in light blue. Prelims are basically just used as concept models to show size and the main selling points of sets. Captain Cold will come with a light blue hood in the final, for sale version of the set, LEGO have shown this by using Light blue for the rest of the Minifigure.

Random thought:

I think it would be cool for them to do random minifigure packs for the Super Heroes line so that we could get minifigures that are super rare or past exclusive Comic-Con versions. For example: "Collect all 10 - Yellow Lantern Batman, Red Son Superman, CW Flash, #700 Wonder Woman, John Stewart Green Lantern, Booster Gold, New 52 Red Robin, Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes), Classic Deathstroke, and Orange Lantern Lex Luthor." Then, of course, they'd have to feature the ultra-rare "Gold Batman".

But I remember a while ago I read something that LEGO can't do CMF for DC, Marvel, and Star Wars because it has something to do with them being considered action figures and Mattel and Hasbro have the rights to them. Prelims are intended purely to indicate what figures are to be included. They gave him the light blue outfit because his outfit is light blue, and the hood because it's distinguishable to the character. It is absolutely no indication of getting one version over the other, and we won't know which one it is until actual pictures or some other leak is confirmed.

I don't see why this is still being debated... If you want to guess at which we'll get, feel free, but please stop trying to use the prelims as evidence. (Not trying to mod or anything, it's just getting old... My intent here is simply to clarify to those still arguing so that they no longer need to.)

An example of this would be the Funko Pop vinyl figures.

The DC ones are solid figures.

I feel, though, that if they made a DC line, and not a Marvel one, folks would complain. There'd be a lot of negative press about how it is "unfair" and the like. You know what I mean? I think that is something LEGO wants to avoid.

In the 2014 thread wasn't there a 7 or 8 page discussion about it and everyone came to the conclusion that it probably wouldn't happen? Not trying to modat all here but eventually I believe that the mod had to shut it down and help us get back on topic which we should probably be doing now.

I really wish we could get a DC minifig line like the one that Scribblenauts have been doing. Good blend of popular and nerdy over there. I think an easy way around that would be to put one of 7 or 8 random figs into each set in a wave. People get their favorites as well as someone they might not know about. Sure, it'll probably mark up the prices another 4 or 5 dollars, but for a whole new exclusive minifig that would be too obscure to make it into a usual set (Black Lightning anyone?) I think that would be worth it.

In sets minifigs are just extra additions.

As CMFs they are the focus and therefore lego is technically selling Action figures.

Heh, yeah that did happen.

And I think I gave a similar answer to what I said here.

We can discuss it a million times, it just will NOT happen. Not only for license issues, but those figure SELL the whole set / line. So if they would be available cheaper, TLG would, by far, not sell as much Super Hero sets as they do now.

So when last year did we see final pictures of the winter sets? If I remember correctly I think was around late November early December but I'm not sure which is why I asked.

Looks like November 2nd for the Scuba and ManBat sets November 20th for Steamroller. Just based on the forum pics.

It's a loophole the toy companies use to help them make more money. Kids would rather buy $3 minifigs than $15 action figures, that are terrible these days. So the toy companies make these contracts so more cash goes to them than Lego.

picked up a few packs of the MinFig series 12 packs today and got a Female Greek Warrior equipped with a round Greek shield and golden tipped spear.

Was surprised to see she has printed golden bracelets on, could be possible that they may do this for the new WW fig.

With enough it could also easily build up a mini army of Themyscira warriors ^_^

But honestly, I don't see CMF being a big seller. You put the main heroes in and people get their fill. No one wants extras (as you can see everyone complaining about extras in the sets). You already have the figures in the sets, so why have a secondary CMF series? It'd be at a loss for them.

Perhaps for lesser known heroes/villains? Like they could but a Superman Injustice figure in the CMF series or an Orange Lantern. Something that only us collectors and comic fans would appreciate!

How about we don't put any major characters in the CMF series?

I think a limited run of a CMF line a la The Simpsons is a great idea. Something to generate some more excitement for the Super Heroes line. There are so many heroes and villains from which to draw a small stable of figures. I haven't picked up a DC comic since the 52 shenanigans so i don't even know the current JLA roster, or who any of the popular heroes are presently. I imagine we're receiving those members in this upcoming DC wave of sets.

But like Rinzler commented, DON'T use the DC heavy hitters in a CMF line. Maybe include The Atom, Vixen, I dunno. A character like Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes) just lends itself to Lego, considering all the armor attachments, wings, etc.

The 52 JL, Bats, Supes, WW, GL, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg are the main.which we get this wave

Main characters could be fine, since kids don't know obscure heroes well enough to buy them, but if anything why not some variants? I dunno, I can see why Lego probably won't, but I'll remain optimistic :P

Only the the first DC wave in 2012 and the wave last year did. But, there is room between the Tumbler set, set number 76023, and the Green Lantern set, set number 76025, for a smaller $10 set to take the place of set number 76024. However, it would be odd considering we have seen pictures for every other set.
