Hey everyone, I have a question for you all. Ive accumulated around £30 of lego VIP points and I only have the Black Manta set missing from my DC collection. My issue is, is it worth using my points on? I know the price has been a sore point for many and many reviews on the web have said get this cheap, should I wait for an offer and spend my points on something else; or use my points on it? Thanks in advance for your help!

At first I didn't buy it but then I decided to collect the whole DC comics wave :classic:

I didn't have Aquaman and so that was a good reason to buy it. I didn't build it yet but it looks like an interesting set.

If you are a huge fan of DC comics and Lego I recommend it. Of course you'll get the omnipresent Batman but at least it's a "specialist suit" :classic:

 yeah, I tend to think of it as more of a "darn, I forgot my aquatic suit at home guess I'll just have to put on this breathing mask instead" suit.

Well I said it many times, the Lego DC sets are giving as a "Batman Clone Army" lol so I always wish to get other Minfigures but yet Batman is still there so at least a "breathing mask" suit is better than another "standard Batman". I mean even Clone Troopers have different armors so... lol :classic:

I've got the scuba head with the Penguin set tho; hmm I want to have every DC set from the wave haha but that Slave I looks very tempting

As I had Aquaman already and, like you, had the Scuba head from the Penguin set and the full Bats figure from the Grodd set I just BL'd Black Manta and ordered Scuba Robin as part of an order from Bricks and Pieces to the UK.

So when do we think the sets are out?

Mid-July.

Mid-July.

That's good. Thanks for info :classic:

Do we already know those sets' retail price? I'm just curious: I know I'll buy them anyway to complete my 2015 DC comics collection :classic:

76034 The Batboat Harbor Pursuit is $29.99 and 76035 Jokerland is $119.99.

Thank you :classic:

So I think it means about 35€ and 130€ here in Europe. We always pay more for Lego :classic:

Hopefully we Europeans don't get another ridiculous Price Increase like they did with the Gorilla Grodd set.

I'm guessing £30 and £100 here, that second set better not break the £100 mark!

Indeed. I just built it today: it's not bad and the Minifigures are nice but it's indeed very overpriced.

Let's hope those two will have more reasonable prices :classic:

I know even in UK Lego prices get much higher than USA. I always wondered about the cause.

Lego is located in Europe, of course the sets are manufactured in various part of the world, but the prices increase here on the "other side of the pond" always puzzles me :classic:

Well with the helicarrier it is quite different.

No it isn't. You still pay less. It's £270 for us and £235 for you.

Oh I heard it was.

Yeah but don't forget for us (UK) tax is built in, but in US its not.

I think this goes unremarked in a lot of the price debate. In the UK the Helicarrier is £270 including VAT, which translates to $402 USD. The Helicarrier is $350 in the US, but before sales tax. The sales tax in the US can be as much as 10% added onto the price, so add in another $35 for a total of $385. Now that's only a $17(£11) difference, which is more than accounted for by the difference between VAT and the US sales tax(if the US had a sales tax as high as VAT, which IIRC is 20%, that set would cost $420 total or £282).

I noticed the prices of the "Exclusives/ Direct to consumer" sets are not bad in Europe but the "mass market" sets have indeed much higher prices :classic:

For the new Lego Dimensions game, there are two DC packs!

Wonder Woman and Invisible Jet:

Cyborg and Cyborg Mech:

The mini-models look cool and it'll be even better if the figures are detachable!

They will be removable.

I think Dimensions might provide us with a lot of new figs. Think of it! The packs have new and old characters, and DC has representation.

Batman '66 Catwoman

Harley Quinn (Red/blue with pigtails)

Alfred

[insert mainstream DC character or variation we haven't gotten yet]

Are we sure that they will be removable? May I ask where you got the information from? Just curious...

I don't think LEGO would make them fixed to the bases. The fact that they're labeled implies that the magic is in the stands and that the figures can be removed. It would be strange for LEGO to make them attached to the stands, especially since they're trying to change the toys-to-life genre, which makes it seem that they are making the figures actual toys and not static figurines.

That is true. I hope that you are right :classic:
