Numbuh1Nerd Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 That's pretty neat, actually! I like it. It'll make for some fun customs at least. Quote
slugdude Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 One more picture of batman, it has the lego movie personality, but i still don't know what to think about it. It looks better with the cowl on it. Looks like Batsy had a few too many... Quote
elederberg Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 So if we ever get a wave like this one again what heroes and villains do people think we will get? I think for heroes we will probably get Shazam, Blue Beetle, Hawkwoman, Atom, Black Canary, and maybe Red Tornado. For villains I think we might see Cheetah, Bizarro and maybe Solomon Grundy or Killer Croc. Quote
Commissioner Gordon Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 ^^ and don't forget, we'll get batman. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) ^^ and don't forget, we'll get batman. He's basically a given (pretty soon, we'll be saying that for every lego theme, because he's batman). So if we ever get a wave like this one again what heroes and villains do people think we will get? For villains I think we might see Cheetah, Bizarro and maybe Solomon Grundy or Killer Croc. My bets are on One Shazam set with Black Adam and Shazam (and Batman) One Argus/Cadmus/Suicide Squad set with Amanda Waller, Captian Boomerang, Deadshot, Batman, Flash, and maybe Black Canary One set with Deathstroke based on either Green Arrow, Batman, or Teen Titans (preferably the latter, because we NEED Teen Titans sets. Just see the link in my sig.) One Batman set with the Joker (because life as we know it would end if we went two wholes waves without a Batman versus Joker set). Here is who I hope would be in a wave: Heroes: - Shazam - Hawkgirl - Black Canary - Red Tornado - More Green Lanterns/ Other Lanterns! - The Atom Villains: - Vandal Savage - Doomsday - Cheetah - Mirror Master - Captain Boomerang - Clayface - Solomon Grundy And if Lego decides to do another JLA wave, I hope they do more in the future with new heroes and villains like these. DarkKnight7 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 http://imgur.com/cOnP2Vb http://imgur.com/Y69RhrU Here are The LEGO Movie's Batman's expressions in full detail. No sweatband... Yet worse. Imgur is also being stubborn and will no longer deeplink images friendly like. All you get is a zoom in button now. Bout time they released these instead of the regular Batman's over and over again! Love these expressions from the movie, spot on! And I really don't get all these complaints about the eyes...do you guys not get that this is intended only for the LEGO Movie Batman version...which relies on him constantly having his helmet on. And to be completely honest, even the "white headband" version looked strange. Nobody really could use those eyes and face for anything other than with the cowl, I mean unless you like having your "workout" Bruce Wayne with headband all the time. ;) Quote

For villains I think we might see Cheetah, Bizarro and maybe Solomon Grundy or Killer Croc. I'm onboard with most of them as ones I'd like, although I'd like pretty much every DC character. I really want them to use wither a microfigure or one of the little trophy mini figures printed to look like the Atom, I think it's such an obvious thing to do that it's a little bit silly Lego didn't do it in this wave for the die hard DC fans. I know there are issues with licensing agreements etc but I really think TLG would be so clever to do CMF DC/Marvel superhero blind bags as a way of getting more of the lesser known characters (or versions of characters) into the themes. I can't imagine a character like Deadman making it into a set, but he'd be a great filler character for a CMF line, requiring no new moulds only colours of existing pieces. Add in a couple of generic characters, like citizen or GCPD officer and there would be an 'army builder' type incentive for those that want more fleshy parts to fill out their MOCs etc. Plus it would open the door to end dark ages for a lot of people...it was the minifigures in a Star Wars advent calendar that did it for me. If I knew there were CMFs of some of my fav superheroes before that I'd have been buying them all - without the practice of touch IDing I now have that would have meant buying a crap load! Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I would assume: Shazam Atom Red Toranado Black Canary Hawkgirl Zatanna Metamorpho John Stewart A few of the ones on this list anyway. Having a wave with 3 female heroes seems unlikely though. *glares at lego* As for villains, I'd say we'll see Solomon Grundy, Bizzaro and Killer Croc, maybe Cheetah and Toyman. Part of me thinks a classic purple/pink harness suit Lex Luthor variant will show up at some point, too. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I love the new Batman face! Really suits his TLM personality. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I wish they'd do a Batman head like the new Wolverine. You can at least still use the head in another way at least. In this instance, he keeps his cowl on at all times. But I like the variety in eye expression even compared to just a white band. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Certain headgear actually works with the sweat-band head figures, and would with this one too. The bowler hat for instance goes quite far down on the head. It doesn't cover the back of the head, but that isn't necessary in all situations. The classic male hairpiece might also work. Quote
Borador Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I like the Batman face, but I wish they'd given him a neutral expression instead of that big grin. I wish they'd cut out the eyes like that on more Batman figures, though. Quote
slugdude Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) My list of Fig wants: Deathstroke. I like the Batman face, but I wish they'd given him a neutral expression instead of that big grin. Legoman123 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 This is by far the best DC wave we have ever gotten! I'm just hoping for a Watchtower now so we can have a 'base' for all our new heroes and vehicles we are getting. ;-) Quote

Chookdude Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Does anybody else think lego might release a batman beyond set Quote
Shib Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 ^I'd say it's fairly unlikely. I don't know about the US but in the UK Batman Beyond is virtually unheard of, I think the cartoon was played on one of the main kids channels but it never made it big enough for people to generally be aware of it. It's not completely impossible but I think there's a lot of other source material that TLG are more likely to take up than Batman Beyond. Quote
Oky Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I would absolutely love a Batman Beyond set, but while it was fairly mainstream, it's probably too old and obscure to get a set now. On a side note, I was thinking about what might have inspired TLG to finally make an entire wave based on the Justice League recently and I had an interesting thought: Could these have been intended as a tie-in with the Justice League movie that was originally planned to be released next year? I know that sets that are actually based on the movie would make more sense, but this would explain why they changed it up so much in this wave. We know that sets are designed years ahead of production, so they could have started planning them as soon as the movie was announced. Just some food for thought. Quote
K-Nut Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Batman Beyond is known of here in the USA, but I doubt it's anywhere near big enough for a set on it. The show ended, what, 15 years ago? It's great that there's a DLC for the game with it, but I doubt TLG would do anything more with it. It could be, but I'm not sure how plausible it is. It seems as though the project was always stuck in in-development hell, so I'm not sure if they ever had anything to go off of in terms for making sets. They may have had his scheduled for a Justice League wave initially, but without any ideas of what he sets would have been like, I think they could have just replaced he place holders for the usual Batman and friends sets if they wanted to. Also, would Justice League had come out in the summer? Because then we may have had something more akin to he 2013 wave where they split it up. Quote
