I don't understand the desire for a Wayne Manor; and I'm a huge Batman fan. Aside from potentially giving us good new figures, what's the point of the set? Almost nothing interesting actually happens in the Manor itself; everything cool about it is that the fact that Batcave happens to be under it!

There's no real play value to the thing either; aside from watching Alfred dust and maybe having Bruce Wayne sleep in the day. The former of which is most likely a good feature actually, since the thing would just end up sitting on people's shelves. There's just no reason to make a Wayne Manor set unless you make a Batcave to go under it--and that just adds a whole slew of problems at we see in the Cuusoo set; mainly pieces, price, and height (Seriously "Ground floor" is like 25 bricks high). Lego would be far better off building something else for their larger superhero sets.

But it's Batman's house, so people will buy it, so it will sell well, so lego will make one.

I would be happy with a Wayne Manor with a similar build/ price point like the 2012 60860: The Batcave-set.

I'd rather have a GCDP-set like the City Police Station set. Let Marvel have their D2C, like the announced Heli-Carrier.

I thought only Batman was allowed to have UCS sets. :p

Is it just me that thinks a slight adaption to the ironman helmet would make a good mask for Red hood if they was to make one?

I think a printed head would be much better. I never cared for the Ironman helmet even for Ironman.

Either way works. I've seen the Iron Man helmet work, but I prefer the printed head like in the video game. This version looks pretty good to me:

I'm not a big fan of that version of the red hood. His helmet looks huge. That's just my opinion though.

The head reminds me of the big head power brick from the DS Lego Batman 2. Not a good thing.

yea that version looks like its been padded out more to fill the details of Ironman, rather than smoothed down...

I was thinking similar basic shape but with the same rubber type material as the Flash and Batgirl.

Without some sort of removable mask i dont think it wouldn't feel right next to the rest of the bat family...

Robin and Nightwing don't have removable masks either.

Side-Note: Maybe this is where Lego got the inspiration for the Riddler Chase Batman minifig.

Yes, the Batman minifigure and the Batmobile in that set were based completely off of the show Beware the Batman.

I could see them making Wayne Manor and giving instructions as to how to connect it to the 6860 Batcave with special columns or something, kind of how Jabbas palace and the Rancor pit work

Not a fan of Knightfall? There have been a few high profile comic book stories around Wayne Manor, in fact DC have just started a storyline where Wayne Manor is used as a temporary facility for Arkham. Admittedly, these aren't going to appeal to the average child looking at the set, but I think children would still be excited because Wayne Manor is huge in the Batman Franchise.

That said, I'd still be surprised if we see a Wayne Manor on that scale, even if the Ideas project gets approved I'd imagine it'll be massively scaled down.

What good will the Wayne Manor do for us other than give us new minifigs? It doesn't serve a great purpose other than housing the Batcave, unlike the helicarrier, which has a bigger purpose

Posted

It serves as much of a purpose as any Lego set based on a building. There's clearly an audience for it, otherwise the Ideas project wouldn't have reached review.

Whenever something goes down at Wayne Manor, it is DEADLY serious. So what if it doesn't happen often? When it does happen it's the coolest! Besides, it's really the most notable building in the Bat-Universe that hasn't been made into a set yet. If you really want the GCPD, just modify one of the hundreds of police station sets.

A set getting 10,000 votes on Ideas isn't a guarantee that it's a good set. I agree that Wayne Manor as a building doesn't offer a great deal with regards to a set. It's entirely down to the Bat Cave.

If you asked those 10,000 people to put up their $200 for the Manor they wouldn't be so keen to cast their vote.

Even though the pricing of the 2015 sets seems to now be fact based on rumour (although maybe an informed rumour) I hope they don't deviate too much from there.

Honestly, I was so tired of Lego Batman. Luckily, DC relaxed and let Lego make some minifigs not beginning with the name "Bat". That being said, I'd love a Wayne Manor set. It's such an iconic setting in the DCU, and if done properly, kids would like it just as much as adults. My 4 year old son plays with my modulars more than his vehicle sets. Now, imagine if that generic townhouse was the famous Wayne Manor, home to the greatest detective in the world. Sure, I'd love an X-Mansion even MORE! But it seems Marvel Lego is treating The X-Men and FF like DC used to treat all their non-Bat characters.

I see the Wayne Manor set as maybe a two-piece set like Jabba's Palace/Rancor Pit. Hell, make it compatible with the Batcave set we got a couple years ago, too. That way, parents aren't roped into $200 of Batman Lego for their kids, but have the option available.

IF Lego made a Wayne Manor, what features should be included? I think the fireman pole access hidden behind the book case is a must! I know it was kinda addressed with the last Batcave that included the red phone and the elevator that "transformed" super-sweet Bruce Wayne into mild-mannered Batman, but it ain't the same.

I would enjoy Wayne Manor, but would much prefer a Daily Planet! It could potentially go great with the modular series and it would give us a location where attacks and other action are more likely to occur. But honestly, any way for us to get a super hero set that isn't just vehicles works for me.

Today the tv special arrives :classic:

I just saw it, it's pretty good. The part with Flash was by far the best bit :classic: I just love Captain Cold's voice, I couldn't stop laughing at it

I also noticed that ye olde Lex Power Mech is much more advanced in the special (knee joints), another thing is the updates to the JL minifigs, specifically Flash and Wonder Woman. He has his boots and her her bracelets. It's a pity the same wasn't done for Superman

Side note: Did anybody notice that on the box art for the next wave, Wonder Woman has her original costume? I Wonder what that could mean...

Red Hood? No. But Deathstroke? Possibly....

The special had so many of the newer sets. Penguin rubber duck, batsub, robot sharks, bat scuba, lex power armor, joker steam roller, new bat jet, new batmobile. Pretty cool to see them being used. I hope this turns into a series.
