No, this isn't his New 52 outfit (I'm not even sure he's appeared since the reboot), but he fits in nicely with the New 52 figs.

I thought he appeared twice, once as an established superhero in one book, and then after had a continuity-confusing origin story?

Finally got my Plastic Man; here's a picture of all the DC Superheroes:

*snip*

I really, really like this pic here. It's really nice to see that even after three years of sets, the original DC wave still fits in nicely with the rest of the newer figs and sets. Can't wait to see what the new figs look like when they're paired up.

Want to have. Want to HAVE!

And for those who asked for a comparison (LONG time ago) between the excellent Christo custom Plastic Man and the official, I just took a pic. Sorry for crappy phone quality.

I always loved Christo's version of Plastic Man...and that picture just reinforces that thought. I'm not sure why Lego went with the version they did, as opposed to the infinitely more famous classic version that Christo used. It's just weird.

Ugggh. I'm starting to feel like my statement "I have no idea what Lego was thinking" seems to be becoming too common a phrase for our Superhero theme.

I cant say for sure but I suspect LEGO are going with the versions of characters that are what kids exposed to the DC super heroes through the various cartoons will have seen.

That and I bet Warner has the say on which version of a character gets made based on which version they want to promote.

Also the outfit that Christo's fig is based on is just creepy. Honestly.

I may be the only one here that thinks that, but I'd guess most kids would too.

"Do a good deed and good comes back to you."

Turned over an unpaired earrings found at the parking lot during lunch time to security. Then on the way home made a quick stop at the supermarket and noticed a Gamestop across the parking lot.

Went in and inquired about how much the game cost with the free Plastic Man minifig. Asked the store manager if he would sell the minifig separately and he took one out of the drawer then handed it to me. As I was taking out my wallet and before I could ask "How much?". He says "It's free." and I just replied "Cool, thanks so much!".

That's nice :)

As for the Plastic Men: I really like Christo's version much better. Not only does the smile look better, but the glasses are WAAAY cooler. the shape and the blue shadow in there are awesome details. Plus the classic one's uniform is awesome :D

I ordered the game anyways and the figure is a really nice bonus and I would not miss it in my collection :)

I think I might like the traditional PM costume a bit better, too. That is the more iconic look that us older folks grew up with. kids these days just don't get it. I am getting my game today. new school Plasticman for me then.

They STILL use that costume, though! In the Brave and the Bold cartoon, in the new animated shorts from DC Nation, basically every appearance of Plastic Man uses the classic costume. For whatever reason, though, they made Plastic Man in the only other costume he's ever worn (save for a Kiteman goon uniform). I'd say this would have to imply that the classic suit is going to be in a set at some point. Maybe not soon, but at some point.

I have no idea who plastic man is, but to me it looks like Christo's version isn't wearing any pants. Along with the exposed chest that figure is half naked, I'm not surprised Lego went with the tamer version. The facial expression of Christo's version is great though.

Have you seen Wonder Woman? It's just a leotard. I mean, if they've done Jungle Boys in the CMF line with nothing on but a tooth necklace and a loincloth, Plastic Man should not be remotely problem.

Exactly, especially considering mostly older children and adults will be pre ording the game its not as if it is in a set for young children in the public to be able to buy.

It's not like anything important is showing anyway. If a guy can mow his lawn without a shirt on, I don't think a deep V and a speedo are going to be much of an issue on a stylized plastic toy.

Both designs have their pros and cons. If it were up to me, I'd use the TLG Plastic Man with Christo's face. PM's man just seems a bit, well, scrunched to me. The grin on Christo's seems better too, IMO.

I don't think TLG's decision had anything to do with Classic PM being inappropriate. I'm guessing they just wanted a New 52ish design, which just comes down to personal preference.

Except deep v-necks are much creepier than just not wearing a shirt... And in America, at least, guys don't tend to wear speedos, either.

(Also, you've never seen somebody mowing their lawn without a shirt on that really should have been wearing a shirt? :P)

I'm from West Virginia, you tell me lol

I certainly wouldn't sit next to this guy on the bus, but I think a character with such an iconic costume (Side note: did you know that Freddy Kreuger's sweater was written in the script to be red and yellow, inspired by Plastic Man's costume?) deserves to have that iconic costume, despite its remotely creepy Golden Age roots. Still, I think that since Plas has only ever had two costumes, really,(the classic and the one we got) that this is a sign that the classic Plas is going to be in a set at some point. Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Shazam, Bizarro, all of them had the same thing happen to them.
