Nice printing on the new Caped Crusader! The angry head is much nicer on this one than in the past versions. The torso is fantastic, too, but we already knew that.

The Jor-El promo is strange, but I'm tempted to go after it this time.

BUT when you cut off the keychain, you can't remove the head and there is this thing sticking out of the minifig's head

That's a fair point...

Just pull the keychain pin out of the top of the head with some pliers... some brute force should do it cleanly enough (it's always worked for me).

That way you can remove the head and even replace the headpiece if you so desire... you'll just have the legs glued to the torso!

Or use a soldering iron, if you hook the heated end in the eye of the pin it slides out with ease.

Yep... I've read that method works well but I don't own a soldering iron so pliers and arm strength it is! ;)

Don't forget to replace the pin with something else or the neck will break since the pin goes right down through the top of the torso.....it needs strength.

The figure will be available through the end of December, but I have a good feeling they will run out very soon.

Maybe with this Jor-El fig, it begs the question....if Rocket and Electro are leftover, and perhaps even Martian Manhunter, could these sales give the general public another shot at the figs?

That is what they said about Jor-El. However, if you really want a Martian Manhunter figure, your best bet is just to pick up the Brainiac Attack set.

Yah, but MM sold oit of all his poly in elven days due to immense order. Store might have sold out of Jor, they get a limited amount, Lego.com obviously didnt

They're also giving away the Han Solo Hoth promo in Feb with any purchase... Wasn't the Electro bag given away by Lego at an event?

If so there's a chance we'll get that at some point too... Maybe not with ANY purchase though...

Personally, I like the Promo MM figure better than the Braniac Attacks one, but that's just me.

I like to have alternate suits for my minifigures so I'm happy that next year I will get another different Martian Manhunter.

I'm okay with both versions. But the promo MM's face is so creepily un-LEGO-like, I prefer the set version. I also like the new one's cape more.

With the likelihood of more sets based on justice league theme standing alone from Batman later in the year, could this be a platform to release the new 52 design for Superman? (not my project but something similar)

And maybe Bizzaro (and Batman of course)? Anything is possible, and I wouldn't be surprised if this was a future set (although, I think I will support the project to increase the chance).

Probably a coincidence. Two separate designers building the same thing are bound to have similarities. Neat project though.
