Krulis Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 All of the figs look great. GL is nice, Batman looks even better with wings printed and Sinestro is perfect (I think he looks good with thst hairpiece ). Quote
DarthBrickus Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Gosh Sinestro looks kind of goofy with this hairpiece. I hope he has a second face that expresses less rage. Yeah, I really hope Sinestro's face has a double-sided printing. A stern face is much more fitting to his character. He's not a red lantern... Quote
Aethersprite Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Hmm, so it's confirmed that Bats' wings are printed? I find it odd that the official images don't show the print, I was really afraid it would be stickered. Quote
KazeMonsuta Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Don't know if it has come up yet, but where is Green Lantern's ring? That on the lantern is just a stud. Quote
lifeinplastic Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 As Batman seems to be the most popular DC character for Lego, it would be good to see some new villains that have yet to be made. I particularly like this design of the Ventriloquist. Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 There's no way those wings could be stickers. There is no real gap at the border to imply that one was added, which is great! It's nice to see that the canopy of the jet is indeed Trans-Bright Green. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 That Green Lantern set is gonna sell like hot cakes. Well done keeping the piece count small yet exciting, Lego! Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) here's some pictures of zur en arrh batman: Holy crud the two sides of his head make him two different characters As in the smiley side is legitimately Tlano of Planet X, but the other with the stubble and the exercise band and crazy face has got to be Bruce from Batman R.I.P. Edit: I guess that has probably already been discussed in the proper 2014 topic though Edited July 27, 2014 by SpiderSpaceman Quote
Faefrost Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 (edited) Hmm, so it's confirmed that Bats' wings are printed? I find it odd that the official images don't show the print, I was really afraid it would be stickered. The official images are mainly 3d renderings. Sometimes prints do not carry over to the render or have not been added to the software yet. Especially on newer parts with odd or uneven surfaces. The program knows how to re skin a torso or minifig head. Those wings are giving it some trouble. Edited July 27, 2014 by Faefrost Quote
DJ Bricks Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 neither character has there ring. looking at the set and seeing how many part color changes (trans green!) there are and new moulds, I am not surprised we didn't get rings. Quote
Sam892 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Looking at some of the characters they've shown at Comic con for LEGO Batman 3, some of them look like offical figures. I wouldn't be suprised if we saw SHAZAM and Hawkman next year in sets. SHAZAM has a completely different print to his Comic con variant, this one looks like it's based off his new 52 appearance ( minus the hood). Plus Hawkman has very simple printing, no boot printing or arm printing. The only requirement for Hawkman would be a helmet but he looks like a real Minifigure with what small face printing and torso printing. Quote

Hawkman has yellow legs with green printed at the top similar to the new Green Lantern, but no boot printing. Quote

DJ Bricks Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Because superheroes ate a hot commodity right now, due to all the movies and it beig cool to be a geek now, thanks Glee. Quote

Colossus Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) That Tlano Bats minifig DOES come with his "cheap-a$$" radio! It's printed like it's tucked into his belt on his right flank. Spectacular detail! I'm so over Batman minifigs, but this one is something else. Edited July 29, 2014 by Colossus Quote

Of all the variants, why was this one exclusive?!?! Also that GL set looks great. Can't wait for release! Edited July 28, 2014 by CorneliusMurdock Please don't quote pictures. Quote
Ikkad555 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Man I love that Zur En Arrh Batman!!! Of all the variants, why was this one exclusive?!?! Because it's a goofy character variant that not only are we unlikely to get in a regular set, but is also not as necessary a variant as, say, Begins Batman, or an environment-specific Batsuit, which would need no explanation compared to the alien Batman who may or may not also be Bruce Wayne's alternate alternate identity. And that's exactly why he is such a perfect exclusive. You don't need him in your collection, but he's also nice to have if you got him. Quote
Cammo Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) I'm 100% sure the 1966 Batmobile is going to be a set in 2015. Just look on how it's constructed in the game itself: (it even has flickfire missiles and bright yellow construction bricks. Edited July 29, 2014 by Cammo Quote

Captain Nemo Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I don't know...it seems possible, but while the Batmobile seems official because of the flick missiles, it also seems unofficial since it uses some illegal techniques. Either way, I'd love for it to be an official set, especially if it means we'd get a collection of 60's villains too. Quote
strangely Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I'm 100% sure the 1966 Batmobile is going to be a set in 2015. Just look on how it's constructed in the game itself: (it even has flickfire missiles and bright yellow construction bricks. Flick-fire missiles have been present on several game only vehicles in the past. Even still I think it's highly possible we'll get it in the winter wave (To tie-in with the Blu-ray release of the 66 show), but I'm still not completely convinced. I will say the Batman and Robin minifigures at least use printing that could be done on a real minifigure. The legs are the boot color with the leg color printed on. Plus that SDCC set was so plain and underwhelming, I feel like it could have been in the vein of preview set. Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 (edited) I just feel like there's so much more put into the game designs than the others, it just feels too good to be game-only. If they're doing so much about the show in the game, it seems like at least one wide-release set based on it would be released. I may be hoping, but I'd love a special-edition '66 Batman set with the Batmobile, Batman, Robin, and all of the villains in the game. It would be a character set, so everyone could get the characters they want, but kids could play with the car, and it wouldn't have to be multiple sets that would take over a wave. And it wouldn't be incredibly expensive, either. But I'm going on the effort put into the tribute and the exclusive set, not the game model, because by now TT knows how LEGO makes their sets, so odd-colored bricks were just there for authenticity. Flick-fires were on the fabricated (fan-created) Cloud Rider from LEGO Marvel, and illegal techniques makes it even less likely, since game models can stay together, but not if you built the various models in the games in real life. So I'm hoping. We don't have any solid evidence either way. But it would be just amazing to get Adam West and Burt Ward Batman and Robin, pastel Cesar Romero Joker, purple Batgirl (created by the show), Riddler, and the rest.
