Zilcho Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 When you say two wings do you mean 4 in total? Yes, I got 4 wings!! :D Quote

Sam892 Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Cold and Grodd are the only classic version villains in the wave. The rest are New 52. Similarly, Supes, Supergirl, and MM(though we already got his 52) are the same way. Is there really much difference between pre 52 or new 52 Green Lantern? They look the same to me, so to me at least The GL Minifigure could go either way. Quote

And for Black Manta the differences aren't that major. Edited January 11, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
StreakofBlue Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Does anyone know of an alternate build of the Bat-Mech? Quote
rickfromkrypton Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Went to Ottawa today. Every Target's shelf was empty, but no tags for items. ToysRus only had the Green Lantern set. The employees said to wait till February. So if you live in Ottawa let me know if you find the new sets. Thanks. Quote

I would recommend checking out a store called Mastermind Toys as they have been getting all the new 2015 sets starting a few weeks back. There are a couple locations in Ottawa. Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 (edited) I got Grodd today, and I like it. I wish the Invisible Jet could have used fewer gray parts. The Batmech is nice, though, needless to say, I modded the back to give Batman a chair to sit in, and the robot arms now swing up a back panel to enclose Bats in the cockpit. The banana truck is really sort of cute, and the figs are all great, however, Cold's hood had a spot of blue paint on the front where the machine must have slipped. I manages to get it off, but it worried me to see the error. Edited January 11, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 So the Arrow guys are making an animated webseries about Vixen. I know we've discussed Arrow and Flash not being made into sets because of their adult themes, but do you think DC and Lego will be able to pass on on a cartoon? Personally I think this could easily mean her inclusion in an upcoming set, similar to how this wave we got Green Arrow and a semi-Flash themed set. Quote

A cartoon with adult themes, so probably no sets based on that. The series isn't even set to come out until fall, so if we do get a set with Vixen to tie in with the cartoon, I wouldn't count on it until 2016. As far as getting her just for the sake of having her, I guess we could see her this year. Personally, Black Canary, Raven, and Hawkgirl strike me as bigger characters than Vixen (but then again, Vixen would mean not only another female super hero but also another black super hero, and the DC sets are lacking in the diversity department). Steph 104th Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'd take an Arrow, Green Arrow over the one we got any day. http://media.dcentertainment.com/sites/default/files/imce/2014/10-OCT/LB3-PS4DLCVoucher_TEMPLATE_03-DLC-Arrow-1a_580_5438a2b5a4d123.52899865.jpg Quote
Darth Caedus Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'd take an Arrow, Green Arrow over the one we got any day. http://media.dcenter...23.52899865.jpg That version does look 10x better. Of course, I'm biased as a huge Arrow/Flash fan, but I'd buy entire waves of sets based on those shows. The bright yellow hair in the Darkseid jet set feels kind of off. Too overpowering. Appreciate the lowered hood piece though, since dark green hoods are a dime a dozen thanks to the Hobbit kits. Quote
Shib Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'd like to see a new hood up piece for any future Green Arrow mini figures. The current available three hood parts I can think of aren't perfect in my opinion. There's the standard hood piece, which is great for cloaks, but not great for just hooded tops, the Wintery fuzzy hood (ala Captain Cold) which again is fine for winter/fur lined but not much else and the wild style hood. which is close but has that bit to have her hair highlights printed onto which makes it off for any others. However, I'm happy enough to just have a Variety of Heroes widely available so future variants are minor concern for me. What I'd really like to see is a move to include more characters first. I don't think we'll see anything directly based on Arrow or Flash, what's more likely are sets done in the same way as last years X-men sets, clearly referencing Days of Future past but without doing it in that style. To that end we might get a Flash mini figure done in a dark red to look like the TV show suit taking on Reverse Flash or a Green Arrow/Arsenal vs Deathstroke with the mini figures done to look like Ollie, Roy and Slade from the show. I completely believe we will get Flash/Arrow/Vixen sets one day Well, it's harder to keep kids away from the movies. I'd say more like Young Justice or the direct-to-video DC animated movies than the Simpsons for sure. I'd say the reason we wouldn't get Flash or Arrow sets is because kids don't really watch it, ratings-wise. Quote

However, everybody knows the Simpsons (which is why they got sets and CMF series) while not everyone knows the CW shows. Edited January 12, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
eldiano Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Glad to know I am not the only one who hates big figs, but I love the classic villain designs for obvious reasons, the legion of doom build up, even the lex luthor mini fig that came with Lego batman 2 is dead on, now we just need a bizarro in a playset. I have been seeing that the sdcc Lego figure prices have been dropping astronomically so I might pick up shazaam and bizarro that way, but who knows. Quote

mattdev25 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I made a great modification to the Batch if you don't like super Jumpers. Just stick a yellow 4x1 brick in the cockpit where there are the 4 free studs below the control panel and voila! Bats now has perfect vision without all the damage of those SJs. Hope I helped! Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I did some more extensive modding (as mentioned above). I gave him a yellow chair for his seat, and used the robot arms that held in the jumper to support a back panel (for now, I used a car hood/roof piece, but I'll work on it. The mod doesn't give Bats over-the-mech vision, but he can see the targeting console better, and if Grodd were to throw something, Bats is less vulnerable. I didn't even try the (modified) jumper, since there is no good purpose or gimmick in the set. Quote
Sam892 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Has anyone got a response from LEGO about the Superjumpers? I'm suprised that they haven't issued an apology or statement on them. I know it's really only been offically 12 days since there release, but I'm sure LEGO have been pretty fast at reacting in the past. I'm mainly basing this on the BTTF mid printing and few other mishaps. Quote
