For anyone still on the fence about getting the new green lantern set... do it! The figures aren't perfect but the jet is awesome. The spring missile mechanism is great and the lantern is such a cool little extra.

Agreed! I was iffy on the build but the backwards wings mod on the plane really makes it a nice little vehicle.

Now i own all new sets and i must say i love them. Great figs. And the JLA jet looks great too.

Only thing i am not happy about is Grodd. No armor? Only the panels on the head? He looks to naked without his armor or suit.

I really wish they would've gave him some armor or at least the helmet and a cape. Grodd's one of my favorite bad guys, so him being pretty substandard is disappointing. (even Imaginext did him better)

I never liked Grodd with all that armor, so I'm glad they didn't go that route, but then I'm not crazy about the wires on his head either. I would have preferred him to have a helmet and nothing else (besides the face and torso prints), or just not have anything at all (besides the face and torso prints).

Does anyone know of an alternate build of the Bat-Mech?

I reworked mine to give it a more raygun gothic look and got rid of the net launcher to give him two functional arms. Also added a couple of stud launchers to each arm. If I can get a good picture of it I'll post it up to my Flickr page tonight after work.

I'd take an Arrow, Green Arrow over the one we got any day. http://media.dcenter...23.52899865.jpg

If you swap out the arms with some dark green arms (and put the green gloves on the dark green arms) and replace the hair with a dark green hood it makes the Lego version look pretty close to the show version. Granted that pictured you showed from the video game has a lot more printing on it than we'll probably ever get on a physical Arrow. While I'm trying to get some pictures of the BatMech I'll try to get some good ones of my conversion Arrow and post to Flickr.

Can anyone tell me whether the Black Manta set is actually worth buying? I have all the other DC sets and definitely want the Black Manta figure at some point, but is the set actually any good? And is the Batman any different from the one in the Gorilla Grodd set?

Posted

The Batman in that set is identical, but it uses the Scuba Batman head from last year. I would say go for it. Scuba Robin and Manta are great to have, and both subs look really good.

I believe the Batman the manta set is slightly different from the Grodd one. On the back of the comic that's in the sets is a picture of that batman, with the Scuba mask that he has in the Penguin set. By the looks of it the new cowl fits on the Scuba head fine.

Just realized that London Toy Fair (Jan 20th - 22nd) and Nuremberg Toy Fair (Jan 28th - Feb 2nd) are both coming up. I know we don't usually get pictures from London and very few pictures from Nuremberg, but we might get some more details on the sets if they are there (Jokerland sounds like its going to be DC's "flagship" set this year, so I really doubt it won't be present).

Well they've retired Arkham and the display UCS sets don't really count as flagship so that would make perfect sense to me.

There are rumours.... more guess work actually... that Alabama starting on 17th January may show something... Whether that's the Helicarrier or not I'm not sure but with three toy fairs within weeks of each other something should show up.

I think that's more wishful thinking than guess work or rumors, but we'll see.

I actually really enjoyed building the manta sub. I also enjoyed the bat sub to some extent. The scenery was not needed, but does halp make some good pictures.

Which mod?

Also just the lanterns bodies give you new possibilities of a corps.

All except Brainiac came in the mail. I don't have much to say that wasn't already said. I love them all. Lots of people were having trouble with the super-jumpers, so I decided to use a "test-figure" to test the jumper out. I tried pressing the figure on but it was hard to get him on, SO I bent the super-jumper like I would if I wanted to jump a figure and I slid the figure on and it worked just fine. No damage.

While I agree Lego should have offered to replace the figures, I did get a slightly different response myself. (Though I didn't have the sets, so mine wasn't a complaint so much as a tip-off that the things damage 'figs.)

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

I just wanted to let you know that I have passed on your comments and our Design Team is looking into the issue now. Thank you very much for sharing it with us.

We want to make sure we're doing a good job for you, so you’ll always find the link to a four-question survey in our emails. Please tell us how we did today:

So if you do have damaged figures, it would seem you might have to email Lego directly concerning that and actually ask for replacements. I would guess they'll be willing to do so, especially if the figures are your children's and you mention that.

There is a section on the website that allows you to get xtramath of pieces, for a cost of course, and get free replacements for broken or missing.

Where do I find this section because some of my figures are damaged, not from the super-jumper though?

It works! Now, why didn't LEGO instruct people to bend back the jumpers? If that was the intended way to use them, they could have saved a lot of minifigures.

An observation, although, technically the set I am about to refer to is from the Lego movie set... but it refers to Batman!

The Batman in the set 70817, comes with the original black cape that the previous waves came with.

Also, unique face, but I am sure that you already knew that.

I'm glad to help out, from across the world you know . I was nervous because lots of people on the forum were saying that the jumper broke the figures, so I just fiddled around with it and it worked with no damage.

Too sad that we'll get new DC sets in Ukraine only at March :(

And I'm still dissapointed about Green Arrow figure. They should make him as in Arrow pack DLC.
