LMB10 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Does Lego ever change sets based on feedback at these toy fairs? If the minifigs designs aren't finalised yet, Deathstroke might yet get his separate helmet! *fingers crossed* Na, won't happen, unless he's meant to have a helmet and they left it out of the prelims. They'd have to make a new old, scrap all the printed minifigs, etc. Not enough time. Quote

Also making new molds is a big deal. by the time the sets hits the toy fairs they have been approved by the license holders. Things does change from what was seen in the prelims now and then. but not cause of toy fairs. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 OH NO We must stop them before they take pictures from some toys because if they do the world is in danger!!!! (sarcasm is heavily implied) That is why I can't stand both the London and the German toy fairs, instead they should be called TSTF "Top Secret Toy Fair".So I guess we have to wait for some decent photos from the New York, btw when does it start?? Wow, I never realised how dangerous toy fairs actually are (yeah, sarcasm). NY begins February 14th. Quote
Aethersprite Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 The whole point of disallowing pictures is so competitors can't get an early look of the sets and try to make knockoffs early. The proper question should be, why bother to hide them when they're going to be in the public eye in less than a month's time with New York Toy Fair? 3 weeks can't make that much of a difference. That's part of the point. These toy fairs are more about TLG and less about the license holders. Companies like Marvel, Disney, WB have products made from their property not only to make money but also maybe more importantly for promotion. They like having actual reveals that they are involved with whether they are public, private or both. Having reveals makes much more sense, in New York for a variety of reasons. For one these are all American based companies who would be required to go overseas. Also having a reveal in a place like New York is going to insure greater media coverage than a place like Nuremberg. Plus the United States is one of the largest markets for these products thus one gets a bigger bang for ones buck if you will for revealing in the u.s. There are no guarantees of course that we will see everything in New York either. Separate reveals could have been planned long ago so that more attention is afforded to the product. So since 3 weeks is not a big deal then everyone should be able to survive until then. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) NY is in 2 and a half weeks, not 3. And we're all used to waiting, so I think we'll manage somehow or other. Edited January 28, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote

8BrickMario Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I wonder why we haven't seen anything yet. I heard that photos weren't allowed for the Scooby-Doo and Star Wars sets, but not DC. Quote

8BrickMario Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Oddly, no. Is the fair still running tomorrow? If we don't get pictures of any of the Super Heroes sets, I'll be concerned. I heard nothing along the lines of "no pictures allowed" for Marvel and DC. Quote

Legoman123 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I hope Deathstroke has the Iron Man style helmet. Quote
Gremer Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm really surprised that we haven't really heard any news. There's been no mention of anything except for the stuff with pictures. You would think that Superheroes and SW, being two of the biggest themes, would have a lot more news than they do. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I hope Deathstroke has the Iron Man style helmet. Please, no Lego, don't do it. I want a helmet for Deathstroke as much as anyone else, but if it's as oversized as Iron Man's then I'd rather they not give him a helmet at all. The lack of news for Super Heroes and Star Wars really is shocking. Quote

Numenburg allows picture just not of the licensed stuff( except Minecraft for some reason). The same thing has happened the previous years. Quote

Here's out first picture: http://i.imgur.com/pXsE8U1.jpg Sure you can only make out some artwork for the DC Duplo figures (bottom left corner), but it's better than nothing, right? 8BrickMario Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Well, there's the Helicarrier. Where's Jokerland? I know, the news isn't from Toy Fair, but I wish we at least had some way of knowing whether or not to expect DC pictures. Edited January 29, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote

We haven't seen anything yet for Super Heroes, same with Chima (besides one picture of an already released set), Ultra Agents (besides glimpses of the new sets in the background and two pictures of sets that are already released), and Juniors. But then, I would think Super Heroes would be more popular than any of those. Edited January 29, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
