Sam892 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I'm pretty positive that the Justice Leaguers we will be getting are: New 52 Superman ( as seen in the game trailer ) New 52 Batman ( again in the trailer. ) New 52 Wonder Woman ( trailer again ) New 52 SHAZAM ( seen in Game footage, and I wouldn't make sense for them to put a new variant in the game when he's already been made) Flash ( maybe although he would still be available next year in the Riddler chase ) Aquaman ( plays a large part in the game and there won't be a set with him on shelves next year) Martian Manhunter and maybe Green Arrow but GA is doubtful. I doubt MM and GA, both of them have already been released in their New 52 outfits. Shazam is just updated from his physical varaint to be New 52, so i doubt it. And i do think we will get the same Aquaman and Flash due to them both being 52. Quote
TheLegoExperience Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) All the villains aren't even Batman based. This is refreshing after seeing mostly rehashes of Batman, Robin, and Joker with sprinkles of JLA members. This is a big step up. We may have gotten the heroes, but they weren't fighting there own villains. Edited August 14, 2014 by TheLegoExperience Quote
BrickG Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Honestly I can't find myself caring about Grodd who is stupid, or Black Manta who is also stupid :P. Darkseid though... hope it's a proper figure and not freakin' like the Sentinel or Groot. Both are terrible. I'd rather have... well any number of people :P. The Crime Syndicate of America (not happening lol) Bizzaro Brainiac Doomsday (most wanted!) Lobo Metallo Mongul Parasite (with a power absorbed superman face :p) Solomon Grundy And that's only the Superman enemies... Edited August 14, 2014 by BrickG Quote
Kez Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I'm liking the sound of the set names, especially the Gorilla Grodd one , can't wait to see some images of the 3 unseen sets. Quote
TheBuoyWonder Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 My only concern about these sets is that usually the sets have [HERO]vs[VILLAIN] in the set name. These ones don't.... Quote
_epicster_ Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 1. Gorilla Grodd goes Bananas? come on! 2. Darkseid! I wonder what he's invading. Considering that will be the Biggest set, I'd say it's safe to assume JLA watchtower! I don't know anything about Black Manta, hopefully the hero in that set is cool (Aquaman is the only one i can think of, although i wouldnt mind a new 52 variant) Quote
rexusprime Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 @thebuoywonder wait...does that mean...oh no that can't be true...WE'RE GETTING SUPERHERO SETS WITHOUT SUPERHEROES Quote
TheBuoyWonder Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I'm pretty sure Darkseid will just be invading earth. Not the watchtower. We don't want this set to be too expensive or the watchtower to be a cruddy set because of budgets. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Odd indeed. I didn't notice the lack of hero names in the sets. But now I realize it's a valid point, since virtually every other set in the theme references the hero or their vehicle in the name. Probably nothing to get concerned/excited about, though. Quote

I'm pretty sure that means we'll get more than one hero in each set, for example we might get flash and another hero in the grodd set. And for the black manta set we might get aqua man with Batman (maybe scuba Batman?). I think they didn't put a hero name in each set because there might be more than one hero and it makes sense. hollisbrick Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I actually woudn't mind a regular Darksied MF. I think he'd be kinda cute Glad too see Lego is moving away from Batman concentrated sets! I'm assuming he'd still be in most of the sets, but still! Such excitement! Quote
Zilcho Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Just had a thought: Hobbit 2 sets were released a year before the movie, due to a last minute schedule change. Perhaps it's not too odd to say we might get some 'preview' sets for BvS anywhere from June - December 2015? Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Okay, I'm willing to believe that Lego's taking a step up from Batman sets and including an array of characters, but there's no way that they'd do a whole wave with only one, maybe two Batman minifigs when they have a brand new cowl mold. Plus they'd be out of their minds to make a Darkseid-centric set when the new game heavily features Brainiac as the primary villain. A lot of this sounds like too much fanservice, as much as I'd like to believe that we're that close to Grodd and Manta. Quote
8BrickMario Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Maybe they'll go back to Batman-centric after this one, and go back to JL for the next one, to please fans of either one. A pattern of JL/Batman waves would be refreshing and effective, since they could make New 52 Bat-rogues and Ventriloquist, Mad Hatter, Alfred, etc, while also being able to make sets with the Hawks, Captain Cold, Shazam, Black Adam, and the like. Batman and Justice League don't work well together in single waves, so if the theme decides to live up to its name, waves of both would be most likely. I can't believe that they're done with Batman sets already, they must have more in the works, especially since Bats really sells with kids, and if JL doesn't as much, it's a handy fall-back. K-Nut Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Just had a thought: Hobbit 2 sets were released a year before the movie, due to a last minute schedule change. Perhaps it's not too odd to say we might get some 'preview' sets for BvS anywhere from June - December 2015? That was because of a very sudden shift in release dates. I think they announced that they were doing three Hobbit movies instead of two around June and the sets were out in December. BvS was originally going to be in July and there was over a year to think of new sets to put in it's place, plus probably a winter DC wave was already mapped out. I'm guessing BvS sets will show up in the Winter wave of 2016/December of 2015, seeing as the film is now in March of 2016. Quote
strangely Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) I don't really see us getting another Flash so quickly, a new design seems unlikely, and just a reuse of the last one seems too lazy (Though I wouldn't mind gold printing instead of yellow). So I'd assume they'd throw in someone else against Gorilla Grodd. Maybe Cyborg and Beast Boy. After all Beast Boy is arch enemies with Grodd, and this would be a great opportunity to fill out the Titans roster, plus Cyborg is also a member of the Justice League so it ties in both ways. Plus with the cartoon being on right now there's no better time than the present to include some Titans. As for Black Manta I don't know if I see another Aquaman set. He's not that overly popular, nor is he really in need of an update. Perhaps they'll include a different hero against Black Manta. Darkseid pleases me greatly, a bigfig would be great. Though this list seems to lack any hint of Brainiac, so I don't know how much I believe it. For now I'm cautiously optimistic. Edited August 15, 2014 by strangely Quote

The barrel scene was supposed to be shown in the first movie, obviously the mirkwood set was prior to the barrel scene also, that is why we got those sets early simply because Lego had the first movie down but at the last minute they move those sequences to the second one. So imagine the possibilities of the Darkseid Invasion if it were true, so many minifigures they could throw in there such as the whole entire justice league or cyborg in the next wave. About time they changed the script. I think they finally ran out of Batman wave sets ideas. Edited August 15, 2014 by eldiano Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I think wonder woman's invisible jet will be in the darkseid set. I think that would work perfectly. Quote
wesker Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Sounds like an exciting year. Can't wait to see what Darkseid looks like. Just a shame there only seems to be four sets. I was hoping the number of DC sets would increase considering how many Marvel got this year. Quote
phanstasm Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 (edited) Wow, I really hope that set list is true!! Dream "Darkseid Invasion" Set Minifigs: Superman (New 52), Wonder Woman (New 52), Cyborg, Darkseid (big fig for New 52 design?), Brainiac (LB3 design), and x2 robot Brainiacs from the 80s! They could use the Alien Conquest head and brain, but make them in pearl silver and trans yellow, respectively. In the set, they could act as Brainiac's robot henchmen. That would be out of this world! ... pun intended :) Set Design: I would really like to see three ships in the one set. They are: Ship 1. Brainiac's ride from LB3 (because it's awesome!) Ship 2. mini invisible jet for Wonder Woman (should be about the size of the jet from Lego Agents set 8970; see top right) Ship 3. Apocalypse War Machine for Darkseid (can look like anything; would love some Kirby-esque decals!; play functions should be like Garmatron set, with computer controls, a jail somewhere, and at least one giant cannon) Edited August 15, 2014 by phanstasm Quote
Rinzler Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I hope not. Seeing as how the winter waves usually have smaller sets than summer sets (with the exception of D2C sets), it'd probably end up being a wimpy watchtower. Now, if this were in the summer wave or a D2C (which it sadly isn't) then I'd have no problem. Not really, in 2013, The Daily Bugle, a winter set was bigger than the rest of the Marvel sets released that year, The Watchtower could pull something like that Quote
