Steph 104th Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I will echo that the Javelin was an awesome build. I pegged it for being the weakest of the wave but, I was wrong. That jet is awesomely fun to mess with. The minifigs are also great. It is my 2nd favorite of the wave, right behind the Black Manta set. Rather amusing I am the inverse in that Black Manta is the weekest for me and I rank the Javelin as the best. Quote
adotnamedstud Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I still have yet to get the winter sets but finally got some money to spend on something other than headphones that always break (curse you Sony!) Anyways, I'm planning on getting the Green Lantern, Black Manta, and Gorilla Grodd set. I really like how they all look. Personally I don't watch any reviews to spoil any sets but on these forums I've heard good and bad about both. Hopefully I'm buying the right stuff! Quote

Well i can honestly say, after owning all of the Winter sets, that you really cant go wrong with what you order, all the sets are of a top notch quality and I'm sure you would have a blast with any of them ! As nice as it is to finally have a Robin variant to go with the Batman scuba suit, that would've been a great opportunity to bring in Aqualad. It makes me wonder, though, which version of Aqualad they would use? I'd say either the Young Justice one, something like the Teen Titans or semi-modern suits, or the classic costume. Quote
Brickcraz Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Not to sound like a moderator but, we should try to focus more on the 2015 DC summer wave and 2016 winter wave than the 2015 winter wave. Also I think Trickster will come out in a book since they haven't updated there super hero dictionary inn a while Quote

First off 2016 discussion doesn't belong here. Second this thread is devoted to DC sets in 2015, so people can discuss whatever wave of the year they please, just because the wave has been released does not mean it can't be discussed. I suggest that if you want to discuss the summer sets than do so. Also I think Trickster will come out in a book since they haven't updated there super hero dictionary inn a while I'm hoping he's included with a movie. I wouldn't mind a few updated books, but I'd rather they hold off on updating those for another year or two. Edited March 3, 2015 by strangely Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I don't really care how we get him, just so long as it's soon! I'm really excited for him. I just hope whatever he's in isn't too expensive, since I'd guess that I'll only be buying it for him. Quote

Legoman123 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Is there any chance of seeing a DC exclusive set this year? Like Wayne Manor? Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Is there any chance of seeing a DC exclusive set this year? Like Wayne Manor? Don't get your hopes up. I guess we could see one, but I doubt it. I'm not positive on how the D2C sets work, but I thought Lego released roughly one per month. Assuming this is the case, I didn't think they have all been revealed for this year yet, but in the past we have only ever gotten one a year for Super heroes and I assume this is the case for this year as well. If we do get a DC D2C set this year, I'm personally hoping/thinking they'd go with the Hall of Justice, Hall of Doom, or the Watchtower instead of Wayne Manor. A Flash Museum, Lexcorp, or Titans Tower would be great too, but rather unlikely. Edited March 4, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Is there any chance of seeing a DC exclusive set this year? Like Wayne Manor? Unlikely, and unlikelier. I figure we'd at least have whispers of a D2C by now if we were getting one. Wayne Manor got shot down on Ideas, and doesn't seem like the most superheroic build for a D2C. I'd say we'd get the Daily Planet, another Batcave, or either the Hall of Justice or Watchtower before we get Wayne Manor. In fact, I could see a Daily Planet set working really well right about now. Superman, Bizarro, Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Metallo, Krypto, and Power Girl maybe? Or even use it as an opportunity to re-release Lex Luthor with some light power armor like the LB2 polybag? I think it'd work well. Quote
legofanatic12 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Why Harley Quinn in Jokerland wearing a same jester hat from the previous lines instead of a pigtails? Perhaps, we need a non-movie Lois Lane like the one from LEGO Batman 2. And also don't forget Perry White. Edited March 4, 2015 by legofanatic12 Quote
Dunedain Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 WOW, between Mattdev and Brikcraz's absurd comments above, if another ignorant comment is made about " not talking about the winter 2015 dc wave ", IN THE 2015 DC WAVE THREAD, I am going to flip. Its just getting so childish here, and some members are really showing their age. If they don't like people discussing DC 2015 sets in the DC 2015 thread, then stick to doing your 8th grade homework, and don't come here. Quote
Brickcraz Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 A Daily Planet would be Great. I am most hoping for the following minefiguers to be in sets next year. Killer Croc, Cheeta, Giganta, Bizzaro, Captin Boomerang, Black Canary, Red Tornado, John Stewert Green Latern, Hawk Girl, Solumem Grondy, And Apologies for my behavior. For the record I don't mind talking about the sets, it just gets annoying when people say that they bought a set Quote

Zhagas Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 (edited) Most people around here are quite unhappy about it. I just hope it's a stand in and that we will get Pigtails in the actual set. I know stranger things have happened but I just can't believe the right hand wouldn't know what the left is doing at Lego HQ (having the perfect piece in production and choosing not to use it.) It really does look official though so I'll likely just have to get an extra zombie cheerleader and correct their mistake. On a side note, I am pleased they went with black over blue. I'm not a fan of the blue/red look she's sporting in LB3. Edited March 4, 2015 by Zhagas Quote
Dunedain Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I agree, I like the red black over the blue and red look, but she really needs those pigtails. Quote
Robianco Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 The pigtails really aren't a deal breaker. It's a very simply repaint job to make it red and black although I'm sure at some point in the next wave or two she'll appear with pigtails in... maybe in support of Suicide Squad. Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 For me, it's not so much having the hair, it's that LEGO ignored the perfect piece and made a horrible-looking figure because of it. It's just plain stupid and inaccurate. Quote
strangely Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I agree Harley looks bad without the hair. However I'm not overly bummed out about it. I'm thinking that Lego didn't include the hair so that they could use it for the movie version in the not too distant future. And in the meantime they probably want to use up their existing stock on the jester hat since Harley isn't actively portrayed wearing it anymore. Harley keeps on appearing in this theme so I'm sure the next variation will get it right. The cheerleader hair is also in the wrong color. If they went blonde it wouldn't be the right shade and if they did the red and black combo it would make it an expensive piece. Based on the many reused minifigures in the set I'm thinking they may have had some budget constraints. I'm sure the new boots, leg printing and detailed torso printing as well as the newly colored parts included probably made the budget a bit tight. I mean including a green snake for Beast Boy's transformation is pretty lazy, they literally could have recolored any other animal and it would have been better than that. They seemingly hit the budget for the price point, so I guess they just couldn't give us everything. Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I can understand that, but to sacrifice accuracy so blatantly on a minifigure seems like a really poor use of budget constraints. It doesn't even look good, even if it did match the source material. The acrobat-like costume does not go with a jester's hat. Quote
strangely Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Truthfully I'm not a fan of the source material she's based off of and so the resulting minifigure just doesn't look great to me. Even without the hat I think her face looks wrong, the eyes are particularly odd looking. Her torso is a little bland and her belt looks weird. I just don't care for the overall execution. It's not a terrible minifigure by any means, but it certainly is odd looking. I would have preferred one of her Arkham game appearances over this. Quote
