namioik Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I hope they release a set in the next wave that features raven, and better versions of beast boy and starfire Keep dreaming! Better get them in August cause you'll probably not see another version of them for a good while Quote
BluePulse Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Keep dreaming! Better get them in August cause you'll probably not see another version of them for a good while and that's what concerns me the most because we finally got beastboy who really is a one time only figure but the only animal he comes with is a snake. making him, playability wise, almost completely useless since i dont believe he ever even turned into a snake in any of the the shows. and since theres very little chance of him coming in another set theres nothin we can do about it (because i am NOT painting my grodd fig) the ONLY hope i could see is if they released a kind of "part 2" set for jokerland later with more rides characters because it could come with just a green gorilla so u could add the sets which ive talked about before. but again very unlikely since those who didnt buy the jokerland set would only have a green gorilla Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) I wouldn't rule out not seeing any more Teen Titans in Lego form after Jokerland; I heard Teen Titans Go is doing well with kids (I did hear somewhere once that kids were Lego's target audience, though that's probably just a rumor ) and TNT is releasing that Titans series this fall (Lego wouldn't base anything on this show, but they could sort of tie into it). Not saying we'll see anything more for the Teen Titans, but I wouldn't rule it just yet. (Besides that, I NEED RAVEN!!!) Edited March 7, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 What information do we have that X-Men are off the table? Just the lack of sets or is there something more official that LEGO wont be doing any more X-Men sets? Marvel's made a big deal about "promoting" X-Men and Fantastic Four, since they don't own the movie rights to them. They cancelled all of the FF titles and most of the X-Men books, and also put the kibosh on any X-Men or Fantastic Four toys. We had a big discussion about that on the Marvel 2015 thread a while back, so this is all I'm going to say. Well, that and that Marvel are a bunch of poopy babies who only see the comics as promotional material, fans be damned. I hope they release a set in the next wave that features raven, and better versions of beast boy and starfire I'd say we won't be seeing them again for an awfully long time. It's a wonder we got them now. and that's what concerns me the most because we finally got beastboy who really is a one time only figure but the only animal he comes with is a snake. making him, playability wise, almost completely useless since i dont believe he ever even turned into a snake in any of the the shows. and since theres very little chance of him coming in another set theres nothin we can do about it (because i am NOT painting my grodd fig) the ONLY hope i could see is if they released a kind of "part 2" set for jokerland later with more rides characters because it could come with just a green gorilla so u could add the sets which ive talked about before. but again very unlikely since those who didnt buy the jokerland set would only have a green gorilla We still have some frogs and crocodiles in green I'm hoping they do something down the line for Beast Boy's animal transformations. Even if they don't wanna go as far as a gorilla or a t-rex, I would settle for a bird and maybe a dog or a monkey or something. I wouldn't rule out not seeing any more Teen Titans in Lego form after Jokerland; I heard Teen Titans Go is doing well with kids (I did hear somewhere once that kids were Lego's target audience, though that's probably just a rumor ) and TNT is releasing that Titans series this fall (Lego wouldn't base anything on this show, but they could sort of tie into it). Not saying we'll see anything more for the Teen Titans, but I wouldn't rule it just yet. (Besides that, I NEED RAVEN!!!) I'd say that with Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad both coming out next year, and then two more DC films every year after that for the foreseeable future, there won't be a lot of room for more Titans. I'd say we'll see a lot of repeats outside of movie sets, since they'll need to put characters like Lex Luthor, Mr. Freeze, Bane, Two-Face, and Catwoman as well as builds like the Batcave or the Batmobile every so often after that. This was a very good year for the theme, but I wouldn't expect too many more like it. Quote
strangely Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I'd say we won't be seeing them again for an awfully long time. It's a wonder we got them now. I don't think it's all that surprising. Teen Titans Go has been doing pretty well, and it seems to have decent ratings since it got a second season. Now with a live action series on the way it seems like the Titans are going to be around for a while, so it's no wonder that Lego would want to capitalize on that. I'd say they anticipate the show doing well enough to throw in a few characters into a set. Plus with a good majority of the year's sets being devoted to Batman or Justice League characters they needed to diversify. Now we have not only a decent Justice League lineup but also a good Teen Titans lineup. We even got a few villains who are well known for fighting the Titans (Gorilla Grodd and Deathstroke). Quote

strangely Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Wait, what? I always thought his parents died in a boating accident or some other water related death. I think every so often the cause of their deaths is changed by DC. Though I think Grodd's involvement in their deaths has been since written out. Either way I tend to associate Grodd with the Titans as he did also interact with some of their more regular foes too. Quote

When I think 'evil gorilla enemy of the Teen Titans' I tend to think of Monsieur Mallah, not Grodd. I'm not sure I like the idea of Grodd killing BB's parents. I think it works to humanize the character a lot more when it is just an accident or incident that kills them, not a person. He's more relatable that way, I think. Speaking of gorilla villains, do you guys think that with this new mold for Grodd that specifically excludes his helmet and cape, that they intend to make more abominable apes? There's still at least Ultra Humanite and Monsieur Mallah. Maybe Congorilla if they want to get obscure. Quote

He's more relatable that way, I think. I agree, Mallah was used in the show quite a bit so that's generally the one I think of too. My original point was that some of the villains released this year for the theme do have a connection to the Titans (Though Grodd's connection is pretty thin it would seem, I did some additional research on him and it seems far like they fought far less than I'd originally thought). I'm kind of reconsidering if I really want to count Grodd as one of their foes now. At least we got Deathstroke. I am hoping we get a few more Titans characters at some point, I'd like to round out the team and have a few decent villains. Edited March 8, 2015 by strangely Quote

And if you don't mind the Brain experimenting on Mallah's brain, you could get a second Grodd and use it as Mallah. That doesn't seem right to me.. Beast Boy's arch enemy is Zookeeper actually. Noted. I could be mistaken. It's not like a hero can't have more than one arch enemy though. I agree, Mallah was used in the show quite a bit so that's generally the one I think of too. Usually though, or at least so I thought, each hero has only one arch enemy (Batman has Joker, Superman has Lex Luthor, Green Lantern has Sinestro, Spiderman has Green Goblin) with the Flash being the exception having both Captain Cold and Reverse Flash as his arch enemies (though I think that's just because everyone is sort of split on who should be considered Flash's archenemy - it should be Captain Cold though, if you ask me). I really hope Lego goes into Teen Titans a bit more in the future, besides Raven, I would also really like Trigon, Blackfire, Terra, Brother Blood, the Hive Five (all six of them ), Chesire, Kid Flash, and Speedy. Villains can fight whoever they want and have more than one enemy; that's what I'm gonna take away from this, anyway. I was thinking they would do something more like Groot if they ever did Trigon, just because he is usually pretty tall (although he can be whatever size he chooses), but a bigfig would definitely work well (probably even better). 8BrickMario Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 ...no news. We've only been speculating for a while now, which is a shame, really. Quote
Brickcraz Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 We can't really do anything because we aready know the new sets and we won't get any news on the next wave till July. Quote

Yeah, we need something new to discuss (preferably a Raven polybag, a exclusive set that Lego somehow managed to slip by us for this long that happens to include Raven, some indication of what Trickster will come and if it's a book or dvd if Raven appears in them at all, or just anything that translates to Lego Raven). 8BrickMario Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Or anything that translates to anything at all. There's only one thing I can think of: I still haven't seen the Joker's Bumper Car, but the release date has been really inconsistent. Was it March or April? I hate these times where there's nothing to talk about, because it eventually derails to a whole page of "What relation does Grodd have to Beast Boy?" Edited March 9, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote

I have no idea when it's coming out, sorry. Though, if it is March I think someone would have gotten lucky and already have their hands on it, and we would have heard or seen something.
