Has anyone else in Australia managed to get their hands on any DC Lego set this year? I have managed to get nothing as yet and am desperately looking for them. Suffering withdrawals

I have no info regarding their availability in Australia but here in Italy are a rare sight too. I simply didn't see a single new DC set in stores so I bought all them from Lego shop :classic:

Hey y'all, i know this may be off topic, but seeing as how dawn of justice is getting closer and closer, what sets do you think we might get?

Personally i think a new batmobile is garanteed, as well as hopefully a batcave, and maybe even a lexcorp building like the avengers tower set, another possibility would be an atlatean temple with aquaman, and maybe some roman ruin with wonder woman. Im hoping for at least five sets. What are your thoughts?

I expect those first three will be sets, and then we'll probably also get a $13 set with Batman and Superman fighting each other or one of those two fighting some villains (Lexcorp robots, B-0 clones, Metallo androids - depends on who the secondary antagonist is or even if there is one). I wouldn't count on Wonder Woman getting anything more than a figure as her role is probably minor, and Aquaman I'm guessing won't even get that as he's probably just in the movie as a glorified cameo. All in all, I hope we get four B>S sets with a few (2-3) comic sets on the side. But given how big this movie is, we'll probably be getting somewhere near 5-6 sets.

I am hopping for a big black(dark not like the blue one we got before) bat cave as the largest set, batmobile as the main build in a £40/50 set so they can do it well and a building like the avengers tower would be great too.

For a building? BvS might be a good chance for the Daily Planet, since I think the Bugle has retired (and if not, it ought to be by next year) and it is long overdue for something so iconic.

Lexcorp might be a bit more ideal just because I think it'll have more to do with the story (I could be wrong yet again). I expect at the very least we'll be seeing the BvS Batmobile and Batcave for builds and Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor for figures.

Aside from the Batmobile and those particular characters, I don't think that we can call something ideal for release, especially based on the story....

Idealistically, I think a $12 set might be Batman v Superman or something Lexcorp related. The $29.99 set or $39.99 set will have the Batmobile. Based on what details we know from filming. I just hope we get a D2C Belle Reve next year with "Task Force X". I would've loved to have gone full blown wishlist on BvS sets but I do think those two are the most likely based on the things we have seen. Actually, one more might be when we saw Ben Affleck in the streets saving people. I have a feeling that'll be a cool action packed sequence. We have also seen Lexcorp and Wayne Manor so those are also possibilities but I hope Wayne Manor isn't the D2C because I'd hate for them to miss out on making Suicide Squad sets.

Agreed as we haven't seen much that aides to the plot other than what I had listed above (aside from the Wayne tombstones and a Superman statue.)

I just think Lexcorp will have a more important role in this film than the Daily Planet will.

I'd expect a D2C Hall of Doom or Hall of Justice before Belle Reve, but D2C Belle Reve would be fantastic (especially if Lego was willing to give us 10+ figures (Amanda Waller, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, King Shark, Killer Frost, El Diablo, Black Spider, Batman, and Superman at least) and 20+ cells - I know it wouldn't happen but I'll keep dreaming and would get this set regardless) and a great way to tie into the film without directly basing sets on it.

I'd like to disagree on that point. HoD/HoJ won't be close to relevant around that time. I think Belle Reve or Wayne Manor are the most likely as they are the most prominent to the 2016 movie releases. Or even the Daily Planet as a D2C set would be cool. I wouldn't mind if either of the three were made but Belle Reve is the one I am thinking might take the cake. As we'll be getting more villains for our over abundance of heroes. It'd be a great move by LEGO to do that and include Batman. I could see it working really well. As LEGO has built jails before at that price range. But it's sadly a 25% chance on my table as there are three chances at what it may be and the fourth option could be just giving the D2C set to Marvel.

I've just always thought of those two as more iconic than Belle Reve. Then again, the movie would make Belle Reve just as recognizable as those two and tie into the movie, so I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Belle Reve ends being made next year over those two. Wayne Manor and Daily Planet I don't see happening, though Wayne Manor ended up getting 10,000 supporters on Ideas (admittedly I was one of them) and looked fantastic so Lego might base their decision on what D2C to do on how popular that was and give us Wayne Manor. Really, I'll be happy with whatever Lego does (except your fourth option) as long as they do it well.

Thinking the exact same thing, dot to dot maybe?

D2C means direct to consumer as in large scale sets made specifically for the collectors, and not kids as much, things like ucs sets and large ones like diagon alley and the fairground mixer.

For a d2c I will be happy with anything as long as its a minifig set unlike the last 2 SH D2C.

Yeah, I would definetly prefer something more along the lines of the Arkham Asylum set.

The thing with Belle Reve is that it's so similar to Arkham Asylum in the public eye, so why rehash a D2C when they can make something fresh? Plus next years focus will definitely be on BvS and maybe one Suicide Squad tie in. I feel like if anything, we'd get a Wayne Manor set to go with BvS. Otherwise, we might get a HoJ or HoD, though that's a bit of wishful thinking.

A Belle Reve would make sense, though- it'd give LEGO an excuse to use that hairpiece on the character they clearly designed it for! All jokes aside, it could work as a set, but they'd be challenged to create an interesting facade. The interior would be no problem.

Conceptually, both Belle Reve and Arkham are similar, I guess; but, architecturally they are pretty different.

And it's back to the Harley discussion folks .

I don't think an interesting façade would be a problem - the two Belle Reve has had (http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/youngjustice/images/c/c2/Belle_Reve_daylight.png/revision/latest?cb=20120408220057 http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20141115123131/marvel_dc/images/5/58/Belle_Reve_001.jpg) would both be interesting enough IMO. Then, of course, the movies could always do something entirely different.

They're definitely different, yes. What the next D2C comes down to is whether or not the consumer wants another prison or something else.

DC approves the sets LEGO comes up with. I doubt anyone would actually come up with the ugly Batmech on the DC side.

I also thought DC could insist on what Lego does.

I'm actually very satisfied with the Batmech. Hopefully Lego keeps giving us different builds like this otherwise all we'd have is umpteen versions of the batmobile.
