VictorFrenchFries Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 DC just does this to appeal to a modern society. It just looks cool. Btw Captain Cold may not have sleeves because he has ice powers that cover his arms. At least he still has classic touches like the color of his costume and hair and the classic glasses. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 (edited) I guess I worded that oddly. You said it was your opinion and I was stating that it's just a matter of opinion. Fore example, you see it as a bad dorky, but I see it as modern and badass. I've never been a fan of the old design. Different strokes I guess. Makes sense, except the part about you liking the new 52 costume (I know, I know, your opinion). Completely off topic, Different Strokes sounds like it could be a much cooler name for Crazy Quilt. DC just does this to appeal to a modern society. It just looks cool. Btw Captain Cold may not have sleeves because he has ice powers that cover his arms. At least he still has classic touches like the color of his costume and hair and the classic glasses. I didn't think classic Cold had hair (though the parka makes it hard to tell). I still miss the parka. Edited March 25, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
BrickSev Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I was just reading Justice League Vol. 5 when I thought it would be nice to have the Metal Men Minifigures I know it will probably never happen because they may be considered "niche" characters but it would be quite interesting Quote

The fact they made a video game version could lead to a Minifigure: it happened before But I agree with you "unless Batman becomes a Metal Man" lol I think I'm going to get a "Batman Clone Army" with all those Batman Minifigures Quote

They aren't really mainstream enough for set appearances either, so unless they suddenly become relevant and popular with a lot of people, their chances are slim to none. Maybe the theme should be renamed "Batman: The Clone Wars". Quote
SoupOrFishOil Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Warner Bros has actually shown some interest in a Metal Men movie, so it could happen eventually. Quote

If the movie gets made, I guess we'd get at least one set with the Metal Men. Of course, they are working on about 10 other DC film series at the moment, so it could be a while. I think the headgear would require a lot of attentions and also some new and unique printing, color choice etc. Like I said until they are "niche characters" they chances are very low, sadly. "Batman: The Clone Wars" lol I like the sound it Warner Bros has actually shown some interest in a Metal Men movie, so it could happen eventually. That would be amazing. I'm not a huge fan of most of the DC movies ( I prefer the comics, while it's the opposite when it comes to Marvel) but if that will make the Metal Men mainstream enough to give us their Lego forms, I'll be more than happy. Thanks for the info Quote

DC's television and animated properties more than make up for it though, IMO. Quote

Douglas_Jon Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Yes, I think at this point I'd rather have Arrow and The Flash based sets than BvS ones. 100% agree! Whilst BvS sets would be great and a good chance at getting an earlier release of movie version Aquaman etc, I would much prefer to be getting a regular 2 or 3 Arrow and Flash sets a year like what Marvel do with the yearly Spider-Man cartoon sets. Quote
KCMatze Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 (edited) Problem about the BvS wave might be that we get the same Batman characters as always... Batman, Superman, Lex, maybe Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Or is anyone else in there that may be worth getting a figure? Edited March 29, 2015 by KCMatze Quote
Douglas_Jon Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 This is true, I like that we have movie universe versions of Superman etc from Man Of Steel and we definitely need more. It just would've been a lot more special if we didn't already have a ridiculous amount of Batman variants. Lex Luthor and Aquaman I'll be looking forward to (as long as he's released) and I'm interested to see what Wonder Woman will look like as a movie verse figure. Quote

Maybe Mercy Graves (she's rumored anyway), Alfred, or any of the other 6+ rumored villains. But yeah, we'll probably just get the same few characters we've already had (although we really haven't had that much Lex). At least if we end up getting Suicide Squad sets, we'll be getting some new characters, even if they don't look quite like the comic books. (Captain Boomerang is rumored to look nothing like the comics, though that rumor did make it sound like he would just look nothing like this version: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100106015640/marvel_dc/images/4/4d/Captain_Boomerang_0001.jpg .) I'm hoping Mercy shows up. She's such an easy character to work in there, since Lex is going to have an assistant or secretary anyway. I doubt we'll see Alfred in a set, but I sure can hope. Captain Boomerang should be the easiest character to translate, and it really pisses me off. Is it really so hard to believe that a dude whose primary weapon is a boomerang would go into the field in a toboggan and a trenchcoat? Or even just a blue jacket? Some of these costume rumors really make me hope we get a comic based Squad as a loose tie-in instead of an actual one. (although the things I've heard about Harley have me excited, especially the one about Bud and Lou!) Quote
tafkatb Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Don't expect any Suicide Squad sets. Do expect a Batman set in which the villains happen to be members of the Suicide Squad. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Don't expect any Suicide Squad sets. Do expect a Batman set in which the villains happen to be members of the Suicide Squad. How much do you know? Quote
Gilberto_Aguilera Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 How much do you know? Considering that lego is before all, a kids brand, I don't think the word "suicide" would appeal to suburban moms seeing it on toys. So the chances of getting dccu suicide squad sets are slim to none, so a comic batman set with the main characters would be our best bet, or maybe a big d2c set with all the main characters, but promoted under the dawn of justice sub theme. So as to avoid any legal action with promoting a "non kid friendly movie". Quote
K-Nut Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I wouldn't expect any Suicide Squad sets either. We could have a loose tie in under "The Squad" label from LB3. I definitely wouldn't count on anything with the word Suicide on it. Quote

Probably just a Batman branded set with two of the characters and Batman... you know how LEGO likes putting Batman in sets. Which makes sense, as Batman sells. Quote
