Blondie-Wan Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Fifth, you forgot microfigures. Not so much "forgot" as "didn't know about". I know there are Marvel microfigures (or rather, the trophy microfigures, or nanofigures - "microfigures" I've always taken to refer to the figures created for LEGO Games, which are different) in the Helicarrier set, but are there also DC ones? I honestly didn't know of any... Quote

I honestly didn't know of any... There were 8 of them in a Lego Games Batman game, which was only released in Germany, I think, because of the discontinuation of the Lego Games theme. BrickSev Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Talking about the "Mini-dolls" let's not forget they have also a very limited "functionality". They can bend only forward, they can't move their legs etc. These are among the reasons they are so disliked. Doing stop motion with Mini-dolls it's not the same thing, for example Minifigures can do a lot of things mini-dolls can not. So I truly hope we'll get more DC women in Minifigure form Quote

Whether we get minidoll sets or not, I really hope we'll be seeing an increase in the number of female characters in the regular minifigure line (and at the very least, a Raven minifigure). Is there really any reason we can't have minidoll sets and more females in the regular sets just to make everyone happy? Edit: Sorry, misunderstood what you were saying. Risgrynsgrot Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't understand why the duck ride has an arctic theme. Because it's Pengiuns ride, and Penguins = cold the real question is why LEGO gives him duck vehicles instead of penguin ones. Quote

Dunedain Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) Is it just me, or does it look like in the new harbor Batboat set, that Deathstroke is holding a mask, or helmet? Its in the "lineup" of the figures that are in the set, in the bottom right hand corner of the box. What do ya all think? Edited April 26, 2015 by Dunedain Quote

SoupOrFishOil Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't understand why the duck ride has an arctic theme. I think that the panels are being used for waterfalls here, though iIt does look like an arctic theme now that you've mentioned it. Quote
Dunedain Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Lol, wishful thinking on that being a helmet. Its just a stupid gun, oh well. Quote

just2good Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 You guys see this? Thanks to AC Pin on Flickr. I'm guessing it will also be a SDCC set, so this is an early giveaway by LEGO. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 That's awesome!!!! Yeah, no exclusive figures and most of the peices are likely available in other sets. I love exclusives like this - no one whines for years for missing out (yes, I'm still silently crying over that SDCC exclusive Bizzaro). Quote
Captain Nemo Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Interesting SDCC set--really surprising and out of nowhere; its not something I would have thought of. It looks nice, but best of all is the fact that there's no exclusive figures included. Although I guess we now know why the official Tumbler did not come with the ability to build the Bat-Pod! Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 So what's the news from the past week? I heard about DC's big movement towards being more inclusive for girls, but is there any confirmed affect that'll have on Lego? That Batpod looks pretty rad, though I'd like a minifig scale one, too at some point. Quote

legofanatic12 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Maybe the Bat Pod set will getting another Catwoman minifigure which is based on the film like Heath Ledger's The Joker. Quote

Dorayaki Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) I just seem like the current debate shows signs of a future controversy if minidolls are used. The basic thing I have a problem with is that using minidolls for the DC line, no matter what the target group prefers, seems to single out girls even more, since they would be spinoffs of a minifig-oriented theme. It would seem even more "girl-targeted" than usual, since DC sets have used minifigures otherwise. Just for the previous Friends, Disney and Elves lines, their common problem is lack of appearances as offiical LEGO franchises, while DC Superheroes already have enough public visibiliy, obviously. But yes, it would make a different kind of conflicts if girls wouldn't see the Super Girls have public minidoll representings or have equal spotlights with Batman and Superman. TLM also showed that licensed heroines didn't have very major role, no matter they're minidolls or not. It could be nice if LEGO could additinoally make a minidoll spinoff advertising for all themes if the girl's market is big enough. Talking about the "Mini-dolls" let's not forget they have also a very limited "functionality". They can bend only forward, they can't move their legs etc. These are among the reasons they are so disliked. Doing stop motion with Mini-dolls it's not the same thing, for example Minifigures can do a lot of things mini-dolls can not. So I truly hope we'll get more DC women in Minifigure form Yeah. I wonder what kinda of set LEGO would pull out if they prefer minidoll in this case, or they would compromise to use minifigures.Agreed. Whether we get minidoll sets or not, I really hope we'll be seeing an increase in the number of female characters in the regular minifigure line (and at the very least, a Raven minifigure). Is there really any reason we can't have minidoll sets and more females in the regular sets just to make everyone happy?Based on the information, although this could be a different canon, some of the characters have appeared in current minifigure line unless we ask for specific variations. But it's true that some similiar themes like Friends would have significant impacts on the LEGO character MOC database if they also have minifigure variations in the same time. SMC Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Oh good another thing we wont see in the UK, thanks Lego keep making sets for ebay! Why should lego make money from there products by selling them to people when they can give them away and let other people sell them. Oh and maybe minifigures for boys and minidolls for girls another top idea that one. Quote
