8BrickMario Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Mr. Mxyzptlk doesn't use any new molds in LB3 (which unfortunatly opens up the possility of him being an SDCC exclusive... might want to stay offline that week just in case). As far as Killer Moth, and probably even alot of the other villains you mentioned, the best shot we have at getting them might just be sets based on The Lego Batman Movie. True, but a new mold would be required for him to wear his hat. Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 True, but a new mold would be required for him to wear his hat. Not really. Penguin and Riddler, for example, both wear hats without any hair underneath them, even though both villains are typically depicted with hair. Same with Joker's appearance with a hat, even though in every other set he has hair. Quote

Speaking of that, would it be possible for Lego to make a mold for guys like Riddler, Penguin, Joker, etc who normally or sometimes wear hats that show their hair? They could use the Batgirl cowl design as a blueprint of sorts. Edited June 14, 2015 by TDKR2012 Quote

They don't necessarily have to, but the LB3 design does have the bowler just kinda sitting on the grandpa hair, which looks really great. They could use the Batgirl cowl design as a blueprint of sorts. It wouldn't be a bad idea, but it's unnecessary. I wish they would go on a bit of crusade overhauling their hats to include hair, because that might make Jurassic PARK sets possible, and I really want that. Quote

Shib Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 To be fair LEGO have been adding hats with hair, mainly through the CMF line, I think this is part of the reason I don't mind the £2.50 price for them, it offsets the cost of getting improoved mini figures. The main one they really need to add is a baseball cap with hair, but others like a top hat or cowboy hat could be useful for licence themes. The other theme that might help this is any continuing LEGO Movie franchises, as that was how we got the two builders hats that have hair, seeing as there's a solo Lego Batman movie on the way we might see some new DC superhero moulds as a result of that. BatZack Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 So unrelated but is there a 2016 DC chat? With us being half way through 2015 and SDCC coming up... Quote

Well, with the next Lego Movie being a Batman movie, maybe we'll be seeing improved molds specifically for Joker, Penguin, and Riddler. 1000th post!!! Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I don't care how stupid the movie is if it gives us a proper Riddler cane in the sets! Quote

Numbuh1Nerd Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 I'm just hoping we'll get some of the villains that we'd otherwise never see. It is supposed to celebrate all aspects of Batman. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some of the more out-there bad guys. Rainbow Raider, Batmite, Kiteman, maybe even Penny Plunderer, at least Egghead. I think we'll get somebody out of this thing that we would never expect. Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 King Tut, perhaps. I'd also love to get Clock King, a la B:TAS. (or his modern appearance in the New 52 Harley Quinn series!) Quote

Penny Plunder has to happen - I need someone to stay in Arkham. Besides the ones you mentioned, Polka Dot Man and Condiment King are two others I could definetly see happening. King Tut, perhaps. I'd also love to get Clock King, a la B:TAS. (or his modern appearance in the New 52 Harley Quinn series!) Definetly want the BTAS Clcok King. Edited June 15, 2015 by psqidexslizer248 Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 (edited) I was lucky enough to pick up a League v. League movie with Batzarro. Unfortunately, his Chinese manufacturing results in a loose headgear clutch and slightly loose limbs, but I suppose that's appropriate. I really like his torn-up cape. EDIT: Here's a little side-by-side. Bats is a hybrid using a Batman theme torso and the SH cowl, head and cape. I made him purely to "match" Batzarro. I think they look really nice together, since their suits are almost the same. I rather like the look of this Batman alone, and I wonder why they didn't remake him for the SH theme. TheBigRedCheese Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 If he only had some hair. An SDCC exclusive set for Marvel has already been revealed, so I guess Lego will be having exclusives for both DC and Marvel and that we won't have to worry about two exclusive figures for DC... yet. You are talking about the Ultron set right? Just to make sure I haven't missed anything... Quote

Agreed, the original Lego Batman suit design is still one of the best suits' the minifigure has gotten. The closest thing we have to an "updated" version of it in the SH line would probably be the Beware the Batman and New 52 designs. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Yeah, I really wish I could get my hands on that old Batman. That's my favorite Batsymbol and it looks so good. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Throwing my desires out there... I'd love to see Mxyzptlk, Guy Gardner, Bizarro, Cheeta, Reverse Flash, Desaad, Parademons (actually, might as well just say Fourth World all together) Quote
psqidexslizer248 Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 You are talking about the Ultron set right? Just to make sure I haven't missed anything... Yes. I also prefer that Lego Batman to any of the newer ones, although the New 52 version with boots is, surprisingly, a rather close second. Quote

I'd love to see Mxyzptlk, Guy Gardner, Bizarro, Cheeta, Reverse Flash, Desaad, Parademons (actually, might as well just say Fourth World all together) Well, if we're talking New Gods, might as well as toss in Orion and Mr. Miracle. I second all that, but I raise you Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Atom, Black Canary, and Red Tornado. Realistically, though, I don't think Bizarro and Reverse Flash are too far out of the question. Those seem like they're going to happen at the next opportunity. After that I'd say Guy Gardner and Cheetah are the next most likely, and the likes of Mxy I wouldn't bet on for a few more years. I'd say if we get Parademons and Desaad, it'll be in the tie-in sets for the Justice League movie. Quote

The closest thing we have to an "updated" version of it in the SH line would probably be the Beware the Batman and New 52 designs. You (and the others) are right - it's a really clean and iconic Batman look, and brings him very close to the original comic incarnation as well as some classic animated series. I was really hoping that there might end up being some way of getting light grey legs with moulded black boots to seal the deal, but if TLG stick with New 52 it's unlikely. Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Well, it won't last for long. Soon, they'll be focusing on Convergence costumes! Quote
