just2good Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 So I'm still a little confused about if we're getting a Brainiac Attack set or not? We definitely are. It was listed on that Swiss toy shop, matching the set number that was rumored by the Brickset commenter. Quote
rexusprime Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 TLG should do two DC sets: Wayne Manor and The Batcave. The clue is they should do them like Jabbas Palace and the rancor pit. Quote

I've thought about this too. Even if it was just a small bat cave and a study with the grandfather clock and a painting of Thomas and Martha Wayne, it'd still be pretty cool. Quote

I'm actually so completely tired of Batman. I'd rather see them produce something fun that's not Batman related. A Watchtower set. Or some (non Bat related) villain's lair. Or even an old school 'Hall of Justice'. I would literally sell my own grandma to get LEGO to release an Amazon temple set with Hipolyta and Phillipus minifigs! Anything not associated with Batman would make me happy. I get that Batman sells and everything...but, ugh. Enough. I'm actually growing annoyed that I'm having to buy increasingly stupid Batman vehicles just to get other characters. I feel the same way about the comics too, actually. I full cringe every time he shows up in stories outside of his own books....which is all the time, hahahaha. :p Quote

DC uses him and superman as a crutch. That's why I'm excited about this wave Quote
ZionAzure Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 We definitely are. It was listed on that Swiss toy shop, matching the set number that was rumored by the Brickset commenter. Could that toy shop simply put in a placeholder based on the speculation online? Just because one shop says it's coming doesn't mean it's set in stone. As much as I'd like to believe it until we get another source I cant. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) Hmm. He's actually my favorite superhero, but perhaps I care more about the potential rogues they haven't made than the Caped Crusader's appearances in sets. It is sort of dumb having the same two 5 times over. But they did want to remake the sets from the older theme, and they've done that, so they can move on! TheStrategist Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 It's probably Jason then? Hopefully! He's my favorite current Bat-character. Red Hood and the Outlaws is a brilliant book. Not to burst your bubble (no pun intended), but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't go with a risky character who doesn't really fit at all in that set like Red Hood when they have scuba robin, who fits in the set. Also they seem to be promoting the alternate suits this time around, so he is the very logical choice. You never know though. Quote
TheBatstan Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 This looks pretty awesome (shame it doesn't light up though). Quote
Moon_Knight Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 He's not. He's the 'Robin' guy tied up in the 'red helmet'. Or, so I'm assuming. But, it's just an assumption, of course. :D It's not going to be the Red Hood. First of all, the Red Hood is a nemesis of Batman's. I know what you're going to say, he's also been an ally. That's true but Jason believes that only killing can rid the evil of Gotham and Batman believes the opposite. They're more commonly known as rivals. Secondly, the Red Hood can take care of himself. He doesn't need Batman rescuing him. It's just Robin in a diving suit with a red diving helmet. Quote

halomaster96 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I'd much rather have Red Hood than Robin in a diving suit though. Also, in the New 52 he hasn't been much of an enemy to Batman, he's actually teamed up with him on multiple occasions. Quote

He's def on the side of the angels, and not a villain. I haven't seen the images though, so I literally just tossed out some blind speculation there based on the description 'Hulk' had given. It's hardly worth arguing about. We'll see soon enough. :D Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I love that we are getting some more variety, but Batman is my favorite so I always welcome more suits and villains and vehicles of his. I didn't pick up the earlier sets, but even if I did the rehashed figures look a million times better than the original, I'd have to buy them all again anyway. But it will be good getting other figures too. I hope they get some more Batman next year then since they are taking away the focus this year. Quote
Jared Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Yeah, so far Agent Grayson is the popular answer. I hope it's not him though. Grayson would be really cool, but I doubt it's him. Neat, thanks for letting me know. I wasn't even aware they were putting him into the game! Quote

Also, in the New 52 he hasn't been much of an enemy to Batman, he's actually teamed up with him on multiple occasions. I'd easily take a Red Hood over a variant Robin any day. Jason Todd's the only Robin we're missing in Lego form for heaven's sake. I just think it's unlikely to get a Red Hood in a set that's underwater based and like I said, Red Hood can take care of himself. I'd love to be wrong though. Red Hood's one of my fav Batman characters especially in Battle for the Cowl. ;) Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 We've never had a confirmed Grayson Robin, but the Juniors one seems likely to be. It would be nice to see Hood, but I've never liked him as a Robin or on his own, so I wouldn't care if he was in the set. Quote
jonwil Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Personally I would rather LEGO not do any really big DC sets and instead give Marvell something really big like an X-Mansion... Quote

YoshiBlockr Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I doubt we will get a red hood in a lego set this year, because like joker he has a very bad reputation, and has killed many people in the comics and the animated movie, a robin in scuba suit sounds more likely, but I would love to be wrong since red hood is my favorited robin so far, Grayson and a red robin would be beautiful to see, and did you hear that the Stephane brown robin is coming back to the new 52, This looks pretty awesome (shame it doesn't light up though). A bat signal sounds lovely and its free at toysrus on Saturday October 18. So most batman fans will go. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) I like that. I may as well go, since it's a nice little model I don't have to steal the Batcave's dish for. Edited September 7, 2014 by 8BrickMario Quote

It's never been officially confirmed but I like to think the first Batman sets were Dick Grayson. I own 7885 and the Robin in that set looks like he'd be Grayson with the suit and the friendly grin. I guess I'd imagine Todd with a more of a smug grin. But that's where our imaginations come into play. Quote
TheBatstan Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I always like to think that the '06 Batcave Robin was Dick and the Penguin Robin was Jason because of the different hair pieces. I just hope we get an official classic Robin someday with sleeve printing so we could have both Dick and Jason's outfits. Quote
