smkaemp Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I remember a while back hearing something about a Shazam! figure in this wave. What do you guys think of his chances in the next wave? Quote
halomaster96 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Wow, these sets look incredible even for prelim! Glad it's Green Arrow in the Javelin instead of Agent Grayson, I hope he has that hair in blonde, I don't care what version we get the hair will go on my sdcc Green Arrow. Disappointed in scuba Robin instead of Red Hood, but one worthless figure is irrelevant with this many new characters (Should've had Mera though ). Looking forward to getting these and can't wait to see the Age of Ultron sets as well! Quote
TheBatstan Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I remember a while back hearing something about a Shazam! figure in this wave. What do you guys think of his chances in the next wave? He's probably going to be in the wave after the next, which is Batman V Superman. Also, he may also get a movie minifig considering that there is a Shazam movie in development. I just hope we get a Black Adam minifig as well Quote

Given that his 52 hoodless costume, is pretty much the same, the Lego version will be his SDCC one with a few changes, so th CC stays "exclusive", much like TDKR Bats. Quote
Moon_Knight Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) The Hawk Man minifig is a huge pleasant surprise. He's not a very popular JLA member but he's definitely one of my favorites. I'm really excited to get him. I was hoping for the classic Green Arrow with the hood but New 52 Green Arrow is better than none. Best. DC wave. Ever. Also I'll bet we get new 52 Supes in the Brainiac set. Edited September 15, 2014 by Moon_Knight Quote
Douglas_Jon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Slightly disappointed with the Black Manta set, I had my hopes up for it. However Green Lantern and Brainiac sets look great, Gorilla Grodd looks like a great bundle set, but Darkseid Invasion looks absolutely fantastic. So happy we're getting a Green Arrow figure, and Cyborg and Hawkman are huge bonuses too. I'll definitely be buying all of these sets on the day of release. Quote
Steph 104th Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 These sets are my dreams come true, they are all amazing and the minifigs are astonishing to get all in one line, the Bat-mech looks awkward, the Javelin looks really good, the invisible jet doesn't look right. The Braniac set is fantastic. Can't wait for theyre release. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 OMG GREEN ARROW????!!! My life is completed Sorry for the caps but this is how I show my excitement about it,I was so disappointed when Lego made GA an exclusive minifigure few years ago fearing that we'll never get him on a set but now my fears have disappeared. CorneliusMurdock Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Manta set is pretty meh to me. If Aquaman isn't a new version, the only interesting fig will be Black Manta himself. It'll depend on how much he costs by himself in the aftermarket as to whether I'll purchase it then. Grodd is great for the villains. It does make me wish that I hadn't gotten the Riddler Chase set, though. The Invisible Jet is neat but I think it'll just end up being the base for better MOCs in the future. Hopefully it'll have some larger trans clear pieces to make such things possible. Bat Mech is such a waste of parts, though. Darkseid set is pure win. Three(!) all new heroes and a great villain. Add in a pretty nice Javelin, and you can sign me up for this set right now. The Braniac set is good for Supergirl and Braniac himself. Not as big a fan of the actual model here, so I hope it's not too expensive. And I can't wait to see what those minifig flingers will be good for. Probably not actually flinging minifigures, but I'm sure they'll have uses. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 For the people saying we'll get classic Cold due to the prelims, remember Electro in classic colors, plus that everyelse seems to be 52 based, due to DC trying to promote that to death. Doc Ock was classic probably.due to thats what the Spidey figs were going to be like, though some USM toys do have classic colors Ock. Also the build for the Trike was waaaay different and idont know actually look liked a trike, ulike that four wheeled abomination we did get. Quote
JaseTJ Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Really glad to confirm we're getting Green Arrow and Martian Manhunter in sets, having missed out on the former exclusive because I've never been to ComicCon (And even then they're hard/expensive to get, no?) and I didn't happen to have $70 to order MM back in March... And as others have said, they'll likely release SHAZAM! in a year or two lining up with his movie. Plus we're finally getting Green Lantern in a set, too! (Come to think of it, brilliant on Lego's part to make that the small set. Cheap enough that people can get multiples for the GL outfit and MOC the various versions.) Regardless... Reconciliation* has begun! *For making all the ones I wanted the most exclusive for so long... Quote
blarghiflargh Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I'd really like for Green Arrow to have the Wyldstyle unworn hood piece in green. Quote
Dharkan Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Are we going to get same minifigs or New 52 variants? Quote
The Brigante Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Cheers for the links Just2Good! And thanks Hulk_Smash for giving us all reliable information! Have to say, I'm stoked for this wave. Black Manta, Captain Cold, Grodd, New 52 Bats and WW, Flash (I know he's already been released, but I didn't pick up the Riddler set). Super excited for the Braniac and Darkseid sets. Not only do we get two of my all time favourite villains, but we also get MM, Supergirl, Cyborg and my two favourite DC heroes (besides Supes and Nightwing)- Hawkman and Green Arrow. Kinda chuckled when I saw they were in a set together given their vitriolic relationship. Would have prefered someone like Atom or Booster Gold instead of MM seeing as we got him last year, but given all the goodness that's coming next year, I'm not gonna complain. Is 2015 gonna be the best year thus far for Lego DC? YOU BET!!!! Edited September 15, 2014 by The Brigante Quote
Douglas_Jon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Anyone know if we're getting a summer wave of sets like what happened this year for Marvel with the X-Men and GotG sets? If so, I really hope we get Shazam, Black Adam and Booster Gold minifigures. Maybe Jon Stewart too or some of the Lego Comic Variants. Quote

You are getting a green lantern suit anyway, just use black hands and head and you got your Jon Stewart Quote
Douglas_Jon Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 You are getting a green lantern suit anyway, just use black hands and head and you got your Jon Stewart That would involve me taking apart Hal Jordan, plus on the comic cover variants Jon Stewart seems to have a nice special hairpiece. Generally not a fan of customs to be honest. Quote
tafkatb Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Only the Green Lantern one for sure - $19.99. The rest is educated guessing based on size and Euro prices. Quote
Numbuh1Nerd Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 ...Or they have waves between movies. I suppose that would work too! From the sound of things, DC's planning on putting out a lot of movies at once, though. Quote
Dharkan Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Lantern set - 20 usd Supergirl set - 30 usd Gorilla Grood set - 70 usd Black Manta set - 50 usd Green Arrow set - 60 usd They will end up something like this Quote
tafkatb Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 You really think the Grodd set will be more expensive than the Darkseid one? My guess is $50-60 for Grodd and $70-75 for Darkseid, and I'm hoping Black Manta is more like $40. Quote
Dharkan Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I'm not sure, Grodd looked bigger on that picture. You are probably right. Quote
TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 I will still say that the Darkseid Invasion is my favorite. Great figures and vehicles. It's a set you'll love straight out of the box (and after putting it together) the Green Lantern is also a great set, but the rest of them....well I'll say that Brainiac attack is pretty nicely done. The batsub is really miss, maybe because I loved BrickQueen's bat sub design so much. But it just doesn't look good, I wish that Manta got a bigger sub instead of that Atlantis part and Batman's sub. Heck I even liked the $12 scuba one a lot more than that. Bat mech could've been a lot better, and same for the invisible jet (I'm pretty sure color wise it will change a lot when the legit photos come out). Not a big fan of paying a lot of money for the figures in sets like (BlackManta, Gorilla Grodd) unless batman has his new 52 in the set I won't get it immediately. Quote
legofreak86 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Just a thought! That green arrow is dressed in dark green with a compound bow. You don't suppose that one might be based off the TV show when finalised? Cause dark green leather is arrow's thing and he uses a black compound bow like hawkeye. I might be utterly wrong bu I wouldn't be surprised if that arrow will turn out to be the one from the show as a way of publicising it without making sets. Quote
