8BrickMario Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) I wonder what Spogg, Turg, and Tungster's theme is. They have some connection to tongues, but their names indicate something more. They look so crazy and creative, but what theme is justifying them? Edited February 1, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Anybody else waiting on pictures of official mixes/murps for series 4? I imagine they're still bothering to do that for the 2015 series? Quote
refriedbeans Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Do we know if the television series is returning? We only really got one series 3 "episode". Quote
ZootyCutie Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Do we know if the television series is returning? We only really got one series 3 "episode". There's apparently set to be another special called "Moon Madness Special". We don't know really any details so far for it, though. Quote
Boogly22238 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 All we know is that an abduction will take place, and crazy stuff on the Mixel Moon. Quote
GoldenChi Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I wonder what Spogg, Turg, and Tungster's theme is. They have some connection to tongues, but their names indicate something more. They look so crazy and creative, but what theme is justifying them? I think you're overthinking it. They're just a tribe that emphasizes tongues as the main play feature/gimmick. One guy has a tongue that's built on hinges and can fold into it's mouth, while another guy has a tongue that can be pulled in and out of it's mouth/body.The Flexers names have little to no relevance about stretching or flexing. mpfirnhaber Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Not sure how I feel about the upcoming series. They seem off, like TLG is moving away from the small parts and simple builds we saw in the first few series, and more towards large, specialty pieces. I'm sure I'll still buy them. Mixels are an excellent source of colorful parts. Just not sure if I'll build them... Quote
Bigger Fish Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 What do you think the new tribes are going to be called? Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) I'm sure the tongue tribe will have a form of "lick" in their name. Since the mechanical tribe are a scrap metal/junkyard theme, I would guess that the word "scrap" is in their name somewhere. Edited February 5, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
barnstench fartface Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I finally got all of series 3 a few days ago, so I could get started on series 4. Niksput is my new favorite Mixel. The space pompadour is just too great. What finally pushed me to start catching up with the Mixels I'd missed since series 2 were the Nuremberg pictures...the tongue Mixels in 5 are fantastic. I want all of them. But for now, I should concentrate on getting the rest of series 4...I should get at least a Glowkie before too long. Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I got Rokit today, and I like him. I wish his mechanical brain dome didn't overhang on the sides of his head, but that's fine. I switched out the machinery under the dome out for an organic brain by stacking two layers of four pink flower plates, so he'll be a mad-science cyborg creature for the Series 14 scientist to create. dadiomouse Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I grabbed 3 of every guy in Series 4 last week. MWEHEHE! Hafta say, I really like 'em all. And the Maxes *rock!*. It's interesting as well just how different the build techniques are in each tribe... (ie: Glowkies have really simple builds) & how the colors give them more or less of a "presence". (ie: the Orbitons look less substantial/smaller because of being broke up so much with the white (imo). They're still very cool tho. Been fiddling with some custom builds, but nothing so fantastic just yet... Hafta say tho, something I really wish Lego would bring out soon is some kind of pack with Major Nixel in it. I kind of feel like there is a "hole" in my collection without him... also, I kinda wish lego would bring out some kind of pack of just Nixels (like a polybag of 10 or 20 of 'em) cos anoher thing I'd like is some way to assemble a massive Nixel swarm (without having to spend a fortune on Mixel duplicates). I feel it's unlikley... but I can dream. Now... roll on Series 5!!! (^o^)b Quote
Chimaninja454 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I have just ordered the complete fourth series via the LEGO Shop (S@H), and it is my third purchase here, Can't wait! Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 The Toy Fair people have put their video up! Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 The one with the huge tongue has Chima wings? Okay! I'm really starting to like the scrap-metal tribe. Quote
GoldenChi Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'm really liking the new Glorp Corps and Forosticons way more that the original ones. The one I'm most interested in now is the Frosticon that the wiki identifies as Krug. With his clawed, spikey hands,I'm getting a yeti vibe from him. Quote
refriedbeans Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I wish the visitors actually knew what was on the shelves already so they would focus on the new stuff. My main issue is that they are reusing Nurp-Naut's eye and it doesn't work for some of the character designs Quote
brickpreviews Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Here is my review of all the Mixels Series 4 for those interested :) Glowkies is my favourite tribe I think. http://brickpreviews.com/category/lego/reviews/mixels-series-4/ Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'm really liking the new Glorp Corps and Forosticons way more that the original ones. The one I'm most interested in now is the Frosticon that the wiki identifies as Krug. With his clawed, spikey hands,I'm getting a yeti vibe from him. I like the snowmobile one. On the contrary, though, I feel like these new ones aren't as interesting as their predecessors. They feel less "quirky and unique" and more "C'mon, guys! We have to churn out more Frosticons and Glorp Corp!" I thought the second round of Infernites was fine, but these seem less interesting than the groups before them. Maybe I was too attached to Slumbo and Torts to accept Slusho (who's not at all original in design) and the others. I'm totally picking up Berp, Vaka-Waka, and the scrap and tongue tribes, though! Quote
dadiomouse Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Ah! It's good to see them all more clearly in that new vid! Now that I've had a better look... I too actually prefer the new Frosticons to the old (never really liked the originals). These are good, solid, builds! So... only GlorpCorp are still a bit "meh" for me.. I like the middle guy... just the other too are too familiar to other characters... but they don't look *too* bad really. Nice complete reviews & great pics there "brickpreviews"! I hadn't actually looked at the Glowkies in the dark yet! Interesting. Tongue guys look more weird & awesome the more clearly I see em! Lol. Really looking forward to the lot of em tbh! Quote
DraikNova Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) I may have just spotted a new Nixel design, which looks a bit like Major Nixel. Look at the top of the picture. Edited February 14, 2015 by DraikNova Quote
8BrickMario Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I'm thinking "King Nixel" due to the golden crystal. Quote
GoldenChi Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) JUNE is when series 5 released OCTOBER is when Series 6 is released The toon versions of series 5 and 6 are revealed Edited February 14, 2015 by GoldenChi Quote
Takanuinuva Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) I hope that's not Major Nixel. It looks nothing like him. Edit: After looking at closer pictures from Toyark http://news.toyark.com/2015/02/14/lego-pirates-mixels-minifigures-creator-toy-fair-2015-150563 That is definitely not Major Nixel. It a Nixel on some kind of chair with a gold gem on its head. It might be a new Nixel Character who is a mad scientist like character. Like Major Nixel's right hand. As for the Mixels themselves. The new Frosticons looks unique but the New Glorp Corps have similar builds to Niksput, Glomp/Torts and Flurr. I do hope the cubit won't be exclusive to the new Glorp Corp Of the new Tongue tribe. I haven't decided yet on which is my favorite. They all have unique things to them. Though the one on the left has my interest so far. Of the new Steampunk tribe. So far its a tie between the middle one and the right one Of the new Purple Food tribe Vaka-Waka is my current favorite Of the new Construction Tribe. So far its a tie between the left and right ones. Edited February 14, 2015 by Takanuinuva Quote
