8BrickMario Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Pretty gross. I even hope they discontinue the ableist mixel. There must be some consequences. I don't think they will. It was an insensitive thing to put on the website, but the term itself is rather obscure today. It has been fixed on the website, and unless the entire character is meant to be disabled, then there won't be any further consequences. It was a big PR mistake for LEGO, but it's been removed by now. Quote

DraikNova Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 That description for Vaka-Waka is just messed up. I wonder if the same person who wrote Turg's description is responsible for that. Quote
Bigger Fish Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Pretty gross. I even hope they discontinue the ableist mixel. There must be some consequences. Slightly off topic: WE FOUND AN SJW! YAY!On Topic: Tv Tropes calls Turg a window cleaner squeegee. More on topic: I'm gonna try to get Snax, Berp, Slusho, and Kramm when they come out. Quote
Aanchir Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Pretty gross. I even hope they discontinue the ableist mixel. There must be some consequences. You mean the mixel with the ableist bio that's already been corrected? Discontinuing a set over it being described in an insensitive way would be overkill by any reasonable measure. Especially because Mixels are sold by the box, so there really doesn't exist any way to discontinue just one of 27, any more than there would exist a way to discontinue one collectible minifigure in a set of 16 after they've already been released. 8BrickMario Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 That bio makes me wonder...since it appears that you can "feed" Vaka, I wonder if there's a function to "empty" Waka, a la the Creator parrot... Quote
Alskadosis Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) That bio makes me wonder...since it appears that you can "feed" Vaka, I wonder if there's a function to "empty" Waka, a la the Creator parrot... Someone sent me an .lxf recreation of Vaka-Waka and it seems to be blocked by glass, though with the possibility of simply building him without it and letting you empty him. (Then again, the build was based on the images from the bags, so it's still possible.) EDIT: This is his bag image. You can sorta see through Waka's mouth to the BG, but I can't completely tell if there's glass there or if it's completely out and open for you to empty him. Edited June 22, 2015 by Alskadosis Quote
DraikNova Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I'd say that there's glass there. You can even see it in the combiner, where it makes the translucent "stomach". Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I think I'll leave it out, then. I understand why it's there, but I don't like it. Quote
bacem Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Waka handles the output...is this means waka act as substitute...buttock hole? Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I think it means that their digestive tract is simply on Waka's half. Quote
ZootyCutie Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I think it means that their digestive tract is simply on Waka's half. Yep, we actually found a German bio from one of the catalogs and put it in a translator. Pretty much went that Vaka has a blind appetite where he eats things he shouldn't eat (like engine oil) and Waka is forced to digest it no matter what. Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 SERIES 7 NEWS! This is Kuffs. He's not a Glowkie, so what's his tribe's theme? The other two shown were named Jamzy and Camillot (Castle tribe-yes!) No pics yet, though. There's also a new Nixel face. Quote

But discussion of those Mixels really belongs in the 2016 topic. Quote
ZootyCutie Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) Managed to randomly find these! They're the Series 6 information normally on the LEGO site and store site...but way earlier! Gives better bios for the characters. THIS IS NO LONGER ACCURATE. THEY HAVE BEEN REMOVED. Edited July 17, 2015 by ZootyCutie Quote
TheGreatSpirit Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 (edited) I've been thinking of picking up a mixel or two while I wait for the summer Bionicle sets, anyone have any suggestions on the best ones to pick up for a first timer to mixels? Edited July 20, 2015 by TheGreatSpirit Quote

Of the currently available ones, Kamzo or Jinky is probably a good bet for a Bionicle fan. Though often you can find older ones at a discount, which could make them a better bet for a first-timer. Aanchir Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 So has everyone here seen the King Nixel model that's made by combining all nine of this year's Mixels? Quote
Takanuinuva Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 That is pretty cool. Makes me want to see something like that in the show. I built my own version of King Nixel but based it more on his appearance in Mixel's Rush. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 That's so wrong, they became CREATIVE! Quote

CabooseBM Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) There's a part of me that really, really wants that eyeball mask. I dunno if it's a big enough part to pay for a full costume for it, but, eyeball mask. Edited September 1, 2015 by CabooseBM Quote
