Jacob_9821 Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Asajj Ventress looks about what one would expect from the Animated series. The new angle gives me a better idea on how they built the engines, common techniques as previously thought. I never managed to get the last Tie Fighter, as at first it was in my mini Dark Age where I stopped getting any Lego, then I focused on LOTR and the Hobbit sets, meaning I missed out on a couple of sets which are now far above the standard price, such as the Tie and Palpatines arrest. Loving the look of Anakin's Custom Starfighter If you live in the US ToysRUs still has Palpatine's Arrest on sale for $69.98, $20.01 off from the original retail price. Quote

Artanis I Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I think it's really funny that people complain as much about others complaining! Quote
montgocloud Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I said it once when the prelims were shown and I'll say it again: something looks off about the Azure Angel. Is it just me or is it a bit too skinny? Quote
Schneeds Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Lego Ideas has a video up officially announcing that Cavegod's ATAT has just been advanced to the next review period for 2015! I can't imagine the price tag on that beast but I know I would pay it https://ideas.lego.com/ Also announced was LDiEgo's awesome Invisible Hand! Congratulations! Quote

Schneeds Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 They've been at tgat stage for some time. Would love to see it made! It's good that they've carried it over to 2015 instead of just turning it down though. Also nice to see in a video :) Should increase exposure. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Perhaps in 2015 an AT-AT would nake sense and tie in with Ep 7? I kuke the invisible hand but xannot see disney saying yes to OT sets.. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 They will never make an AT-AT at that massive scale. Period. Now, the Invisible Hand? I'm on board..... Quote
arc Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 They will never make an AT-AT at that massive scale. Period. Now, the Invisible Hand? I'm on board..... so am i. I don't have high hopes for it passing, but if it does... man would that be awesome. Quote
Something_Awesome Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 They will never make an AT-AT at that massive scale. Period. Now, the Invisible Hand? I'm on board..... No, they wouldn't. But I don't see why they can't make an AT-AT with over 3,000 parts. Quote
Spyderlord Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 No, they wouldn't. But I don't see why they can't make an AT-AT with over 3,000 parts. Completely agree with this, if they did 4000+ i'd be in heaven! Quote
cavegod Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 The At-At hasnt been carried over to 2015 thats just when the results of the next review will be. Quote
Beckmesser Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 This may be so obvious that it actually needs pointing out: LEGO Ideas doesn't make LEGO Star Wars sets. LEGO Star Wars makes LEGO Star Wars sets. Quote
DarthTwoShedsJackson Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I'd bet Lego will NEVER make a Star Wars-themed Ideas submission into an official set. Also, 6000+ parts on the AT AT? Good luck with marketing that beast. Also: Am I the only one who finds it, ermmm... lets say 'interesting', when someone labels his own creation a UCS model? Humble sounds differently. Apart from that, the AT AT that made 10.000 supporters makes a great convention display piece. The Invisible Hand with all its play features looks a lot more attractive to me as a Lego set. Quote
Lobot Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Personally I think that cavegod's AT-AT is more than worthy of the 'UCS' title, it's the biggest and most accurate renditon that I've ever seen. And, I'm pretty confident that if it was limited to 10,000 sets as a pre-order, it would sell-out very quickly. There are lots of OT fans in their late 30s that would add this to their collection, even if it was in the £7-800 bracket (me included! ). Quote
cavegod Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 My At-At will not be a Lego Ideas set as i said ln some post somewhere or other. All lego idea sets are in the 3-400 part range and around £30-£50. If it gives the Star Wars team Ideas for a Ucs At-At then thats great at least its shows TLG there is demand for a large set after the Falcon. Quote
clonetrooper500 Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 i wonder if they are going to release sets from the movie before the movie comes out ? it would be nice to have them ! Anyone see a picture of a speeder that was leaked , they better make a version of that ! Quote
Venkefedo Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 If you mean the one that's a pile of cylindrical engines staked around a cockpit, I imagine they'll make it. The garage it parks in, tho, probably won't be... tho a version of that garage is up for review on Ideas Quote
legoboy12345678/David Hall Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 So based on the picture below, we know for fact that the first LEGO Star Wars 2015 Winter Wave will hit in January 2015 (likely January 1st to go beside the new Slave 1). With that in mind, for once, do you think it'll be like it was back in pre-2011 times were you could get the sets in early December at Toysrus and usually not marked up? Thoughts? Any Rumors on TRUS getting these sets early again or will time tell? Quote
neoconagenda Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Lobot - The 10k pre-order on that price range sounds like a great idea. They could probably go as high as 20k and sell out the pre-orders... cavegod is on the money with his point on the size of idea sets, not that I wouldnt love to see his AT-AT as a set. I dont understand why TLG has not done something based on Anio's speeder bike, or for that matter why I havent bought the instructions and built it myself... Quote

Shame though, your set is impressive, i don't hold out much hope for the invisible hand either. I think they will do the other ghostbusters set from that pool of sets. Quote

I'm so glad that you think as much, because I think you're right, but also right to use Ideas as an opportunity to see what kind of interest there is in something so huge that is done properly. Quote
DarthTwoShedsJackson Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 @ cavegod's AT-AT. First of all - re-reading my comment, it came across as harsh, but wasn't intented to. My apologies for that to cavegod if it sounded like trolling. To make myself clear: Cavegod's AT-AT is more than impressive as a build and as a model. What I was trying to say is that I simply have huge doubts that Lego would ever make anything this huge and with a piece-count that high into a set, because marketing it and pricing will be quite a challenge. As for the UCS-label: I'm just not a fan of such a label. The confusion about what makes a UCS-set and what doesn't is all out there. Lastly, these are just my stupid opinions, nothing more. Pax.
