montgocloud Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 The Final Duel set is problematic for me. It looks nice and the figures are great, but the price is a little hard to swallow and it won't fit anywhere in my display. The Imperial Shuttle is a day one purchase. I love that the shuttle will theoretically be able to fit the Emperor and two Royal Guards in the back. I'll have to Bricklink a couple officers and buy the new minifigure book to get an extra Emperor. The UCS TIE is boring to be honest. It's made even less desirable because the TIE pilot cannot fit in the cockpit. That's what I loved about the UCS Slave I. The Force Awakens sets sound enticing. I'd bet that the Stormtrooper Transport, the X-Wing, and the new TIE are 75101, 75102, and 75103 (not in that order necessarily). Quote
Darth Punk Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Hi, my source said that the Stormtrooper Transport was something big, so I would assume that it will be 75104 for 120 EUR. Nrg has on his list 75103 as a villain transport. 99 EUR would still make for a fairly large transport. It would make sense that the 2nd largest set would be some kind of imperial fighter especially if some of the rumors are true. My guess is 75104 is something along the lines of this. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--nNhHzyL4--/qfabrtz7edzvafwwj8is.jpg Thanks for the info btw! I do have one question, there seems to be conflicting info over whether jango or boba Fett will be In the first wave of constraction sets. Hear of anything? Promo Bricks mentions Boba Fett http://www.promobricks.de/spielwarenmesse-2015-new-lego-star-wars-construction-serie-revealed/4643# Toyark mentions Jango http://news.toyark.com/2015/01/29/news-nuremberg-toy-fair-149032 My guess someone misidentified the figure. Khaled Yousef Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Either way I expect it to be as awful as the two we already saw. TFA Millennium Falcon set seems to be so overpriced; the last one we got was around 120$, what could possibly make the new one deserve this ridiculous bump up in price? Quote
rollermonkey Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Square antenna and a completely new set of minifigs. Quote

Darth Punk Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) And the new one should have a different interior as well. Edited February 17, 2015 by Darth Punk Quote
Khaled Yousef Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 rollermonkey: a square antenna totally justifies the bump The interior, and minifig count, in this set better compensate for that increase then. Judging by the improvement in design of the Imperial shuttle, I’m optimistic about the design of the Falcon. The last one was bad to say the least. Quote

As he also mentioned that there will be one big Transport AND the big TIE-Fighter-looking set. So yes: there is a good chance that the 120 EUR set is the black TIE-Shuttle?, and the 100 EUR Set is the transport. BTW: I do hope for MANY stormtroopers in these sets! Quote
HawkLord Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 How is Lego allowed to make action figures and not have Hasbro pull the lawyer card, yet they can't offer just straight minifigures? Arguably, the action figures are more competitive with hasbro's so I see it as the most problematic. Personally, I think the Hasbro action figure of Luke looks really weak. I don't have high hopes... Arguably, the action figures are more competitive with hasbro's so I see it as the most problematic. Personally, I think the Hasbro action figure of Luke looks really weak. I don't have high hopes... the real debate here is how the figure is classified. as a figure you build it isn't exactly an "action figure" hence our term Constraction. IF Lego's lawyers have finally gotten that distinction into their contracts then its possible Hasbro can no longer fight them on the issue. I can also assume that the Disney and Lego combined force may finally gotten to a point where they strong armed the difference. if that is indeed the case then the only unknown is weather or not Minifigs are also considered mini constraction figures, or action figures (they are after all for less about the build and more about the figure) I also wouldn't be surprised if Lego didn't want to rock that boat while also fighting to be allowed to make the new figures. Darth Malgus Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think lego would be ok Hasbro started to create their own build a figure a couple of years ago after lego had done theirs, while they both shared the same licence. Quote
Darth Punk Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Considering Disney now owns LucasFilms changes would be expected. Quote

Clone OPatra Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 One of the Toy Fair videos I've seen follows around a LEGO representative who details some new things. For showing off the Star Wars constraction figures, she says something to the effect of 'this is the first time we've got the license to make these.' So, clearly LEGO got new rights to make action figures for Star Wars. Quote
lomis Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) I've tried my hand at recreating 75094 - Imperial Shuttle Tydirium in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) as best I can. The file is based off the pictures and video of the set from FBTB.net's 2015 Toy Fair Report for LEGO Star Wars. Here's the LXF and a quick render in POV-Ray: There is a lot of guess work involved. So, things are far from perfect. It's probably best to look at this as a rough draft. It's a burden to fold the wings up and down properly in LDD. But the cockpit opens and closes just fine. Some of the parts missing/omitted are: All minifigures 6019727: Brick 1X4X1 1/3 in white (x2)These are missing from the landing struts as they kept colliding with the wings. 4556152: Plate 1X2 W/Holder, Vertical in white (x2)It looks like these are used in the rear of the shuttle; on the upper inside.I just didn't get around to seeing how these should be placed. I hope someone finds this useful. EDIT: Adding a render with the wings folded up: Edited February 18, 2015 by lomis Quote

Brainslugged Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Its the bottom of his mustache. I'd been wondering what the deal was with that Endor Trooper's mouth, too. I couldn't believe that no-one else had mentioned it. Then I suddenly thought it might be an alien Endor trooper which would have been really cool. So yesterday I was looking up pics of Prune Face to see if it was him. Knowing it's just a mustache is a bit of an anticlimax now. Edited February 18, 2015 by Brainslugged Quote

Venkefedo Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Can anyone give a summary of the rumors for the Force Awakens sets? I found nrg's post but I feel like there were a few other people who had information about what we might see with the sets. I've only seen guesses based on price point & piece count, rattling off the list of vehicles we know/suspect might be in the film: a new-style X-wing, a Falcon w/ rectangular radar dish, the concept-art TIE Shuttle, a 'new' TIE (so far differences aren't as obvious as between TFA X-wings and OT X-wings), Rey's speeder, perhaps one of the more complex speeder/shuttles from concept art, maybe an Imperial transport of some sort (whatever ship delivers the stormtroopers from the teaser to their destination), maybe some other character-specific ship we've yet to see. I'd have loved an Orrimaarko figure, but I'm glad we're getting Nik Sant. I'm just disappointed the other one (once the proper head is on) is kinda dull; we still haven't had a black Endor Trooper, I think (tho easy enough to make one with a spare Winston Zeddemore head), and there are several mustachioed white Endor troops, too; a nice Major Derlin-esque head, rather than the crooked-stache head from the old Hoth Rebel Battlepack, would be great to see, but there might be suitable faces via other lines by now. My biggest disappointment with the Endor Rebels, aside from Orrimaarko, is that Hasbro's doing tan hands again, which look weird with flesh-colored figures. Dark tan hands, like their helmets, look so much better! Shame they were only on a figure or two from several years ago. Edited February 18, 2015 by Venkefedo Quote
