My wallet is ready.

If everyone in this thread were to stop talking about TFA, the conversation (if there was anything left) would be dominated about how awesome and also completely horrible the Flash Speeder is and why we didn't need an nth version of the Naboo starfighter instead of the private yacht.

...and really. Is that what we want?

:D

...and I still think it possible for the June sets to have the minifig page in the back include TFA figs. There'd be no names, and we've seen some already and will likely see many more between then and now: 2nd trailer, May 4th, Star Wars Days. Just a small image of a figure and a set number wouldn't really give anything away and minifigs tend to be stylized versions of characters anyways, so first round figures are often missing details or have inaccuracies.

I personally like the Flash Speeder, but we don't need another Naboo Fighter or Sith Infiltrator.

I really don't understand all the rehash dislikes of these sets...they're going to be made for the last time ever. LEGO Star Wars began with Episode I, it only makes sense to begin a new chapter by ending it with Episode I. I agree, the Flash Speeder looks great, the Naboo Fighter looks fantastic (if only it came with less...stuff...it would be perfect) and a new Sith Infiltrator would be great, considering the old one had a serious design flaw. I personally see nothing wrong with rehashes of fairly important ships.

I think there's no chance of that happening unfortunately :( Disney is keeping a tight lock on anything to do with TFA.

Yeah, Disney is going to want to keep everything a secret for as long as possible. Names could be spoilers; character designs could even be spoilers. And they know the dangers--remember 2005? Lego was careless when they released the video game, since it included many spoilers, like the clones turning on Jedi, Obi-Wan fighting Anakin on Mustafar, Padme's death, etc.

Lego was careless when they released the ROTS sets, since those sets included several spoilers (*cough* Vader's transformation *cough*), ...

THAT was considered a spoiler? Oh yeah: Here's the final part of a trilogy that shows how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. But ***SPOILERS!***: Darth Vader is in a scene or two at the end of the movie!

People these days...

To be fair, anyone who watched either Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi, or even the numerous hints in Attack of the Clones (Tatooine shadow anyone?) would know that such a transformation would be coming.

I love the Final Duel set btw, I think it doesn't get enough  here!

It's not like they released a set which is called "The duel where Vader tells Luke that he is his father" or "Palpatine tranforms to Sidious!".

But the fact that they showed he was burned up/scarred, and was "fixed" by a machine.....It's not a big spoiler, but it at least hinted as to HOW he got in the Darth Vader suit.

Lol I think anyone who was following Star Wars closely knew that Palpatine was Sidious, that Vader was going to be fixed by droids...really that all of what happened was going to happen. It was predictable. I wouldn't compare ROTS with TFA, because they are vastly different movies. We have no idea what's going to happen in this new one. Also, I restate, I don't believe that sets spoil too much about a movie...look at the Hobbit sets. They weren't super spoiler-y..plus the trailer had come out before their release.

There's a difference about talking about sets and speculating on the film based on those, and talking about sets and the film based on leaked rumors. What a few posters have done is the latter - discussing leaks. It's the equivalent of if people had written months before the Dark Knight Rises came out: 'I wonder if we'll see a set with Talia Al Gul.' Yes, that information was out there, but many people don't want to read it.

If the sets themselves spoil things, which I don't think they really will, that's a different story. The closest anything has come, I think, is the Toy Story 3 trash compacted set. But even that didn't really spoil the film. Perhaps Boba Fett being in am EpII set was a spoiler - I remember being surprised after seeing a picture of the EpII Slave I back before the movie came out. So I suppose character reveals could happen.

All those things were known pretty much months or a year before through actual spoiler reports. Might as well say the Lego game had spoilers or the book adaptions.

I don´t think the new movies can lock down the production of PT/OT/EU sets completely. After all, TFA got its own wave separately from the traditional summer/winter ones.

I meant that it is likely we won't see much of PT/EU sets anymore...it wouldn't make sense to make them again. We will now be getting TFA, EP VIII, IX, Rogue 1, and another spin off sets..plus Rebels next season...I highly doubt they would continue making PT/EU, but it's possible. OT will always be made regardless, it's just classic, very iconic.

Did you read my post, or the chopped quote from it?

By June, we will have seen many of the characters in official channels. Having the back of instruction picture of the wave's minifigs with no name associated and only a set number isn't spoiling anything or revealing new information. TFA sets are coming, that's no surprise. There will be minifigs in them. Not a surprise. Seeing minifigs of the characters shown in the teaser trailer and the upcoming theatrical trailer isn't outside the realm of possibility.

Yes, I did in fact read the whole post and I say it again, just as others have after me, I don't think it'll happen. You can believe that this will happen, but I, personally, do not. There may be a teaser at the back of the instructions, that I would be willing to believe, but actual minifigures with question marks, set number doesn't seem likely. If they've gone through this much effort just to keep all toys for the film secret, why reveal things in June? I would be more inclined to believe that they will unveil everything from sets to toys in august at the san diego comic con. I would love to se the new minifigures, I just personally don't think they'll list unnamed figures in the back of summer set instructions....if anything, perhaps they'll give a shadow of TFA minifigs as teasers.

They made an extra wave just for TFA sets so most of the important new vehicles will definitely be covered by special launch date waves when those become a tradition which I would strongly expect with some exceptions for less child-themed movies like what happened to Captain America 2 and Thor 2 in the Marvel license in which case we won´t see any sets of those at all.

Rebels is barely affecting the line as it is, at least far less than The Clone Wars did around the same point in time. And Rebels merch will just slow down more over time like with every other show and any new show starting would barely affect the line as well, supposing Disney even intends to air more than one show at the same time.

If the newest waves are any indication I would expect more EU stuff. The Azure Angel and 3 of the 4 BPs this year are the most unexpected releases I have ever seen in any line but those might as well also be excused due to the transition period we are in now.

A complete lack of PT sets is still very unlikely. According to Disney the PT is just as much Star Wars as the OT even when half the fanboys can´t get over it. I think the many TPM and ROTJ sets just came to be for the poetry of them being the last and first movie in the movie line that is finally getting a new installment after a decade.
