Clone 01354 Productions Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I really don't understand all the rehash dislikes of these sets...they're going to be made for the last time ever. ....What? Just because new movies are coming out doesn't mean that they will NEVER make anything from the PT. Think of it like this: Rebels premiered in fall of 2014, and they made a winter 2015 wave dedicated to it--but we still saw a fair amount of OT/PT sets, in both the winter and summer wave. The same applies for TFA: they won't stop making PT sets; they'll just limit how many are made. As a matter of fact, it would be an incredibly stupid choice on Lego's part to stop making PT sets. As new movies are released, new fans are going to be introduced to Star Wars for the first time ever. These new fans will also see the PT movies for the first time--and they'll want toys from the movies. Quote
Artanis I Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 They made OT sets right through the time of PT, CW, Rebels... why would PT sets suddenly go off TLGs radar? They made PT sets during CW & Rebels time, why stop now? You may say that OT lives forever is an exception, but I don't think PT is going to end during this time either. Quote
HawkLord Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I think the only thing that will be stopped is the EU because LFL doesn't want NJO stuff confusing people who go see the new trilogy. There really would be no point to stopping any PT material. Quote

The only problem is I don't know what LFL or NJO stand for.... Quote
Fulcrumfan91 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Alrighty fair enough. I'm all for them continuing PT...still have no issues with rehashes. Quote

GuyDudeMan27 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Lucasfilm Limited ; New Jedi Order Ok thanks. I figured out NJO but the other was still a mystery to me. Quote
Regimus Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Sorry to be a party pooper, but I think about 75% of the posts in this thread don't belong here any more. Is there anywhere else to just chat about stuff loosely related on LEGO Star Wars? I come here every once in a while to see if there are any updates, but having to look through 6 pages to find absolutely nothing is getting a bit annoying. Quote
atreyu2112 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Anyone have a photo of that upcoming Sith Infiltrator? I'm actually excited about it. Quote

There really would be no point to stopping any PT material. Well, it's not like Lego has ever released a set from the post-ROTJ era before anyways, so that'd hardly be something to be 'stopped'. Sets from the old EU in general I doubt we will see any more of. Remember, it's not just the NJO - everything EU besides Clone Wars prior to 2014 is wiped from canon. Quote
phanstasm Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) I don't remember seeing this posted, so I thought I would share this, sort of, behind the scenes look at color choice for select 2015 "Rebels" minifigures. On March 11 StarWars.com released a "Rebels" Costume Color Guide for four Imperial characters: the Inquisitor, Kallus, AT-DP Pilot, and Tank Transport Pilot. Interestingly, despite the Inquisitor and Kallus appearing to feature completely different colors, the guides label both as "Hexachrome Black." Moreover, though Kallus' uniform appears dark gray(?) to my eyes the guide lists the dominant color as "Black," just like his minifigure counterpart. http://www.starwars....e-for-imperials So, if you see odd color choices in minifigures compared to their finalized counterparts, it is probably the IP's styleguide that is to blame, not necessarily TLG. This still does not quite explain why Sabine's minifigure armor is red rather than pink, since Hasbro's Sabine figure is clearly adorned in pink armor. Maybe the styleguide for licensing originally showed red armor. That would be similar to the way Hawkeye (Marvel's "Avengers") features a purple color in the movies while his appearance on a lot of licensed merchandise features a red color. Likely so. I am still wondering why the colours look so different... lighting, texturing? I do not know. The colour guide is a little inconsistent, too. The Tank Transport Pilot's uniform is supposedly "hexachrome black", yet it looks a lot darker than the same colour on Kallus's uniform. Strange, isn't it? Clone 01354 Productions Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 This still does not quite explain why Sabine's minifigure armor is red rather than pink, \ It might be because Lego is afraid that boys won't want a pink minifig, since they'll think it's a "girls" toy. Quote
Fulcrumfan91 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 It might be because Lego is afraid that boys won't want a pink minifig, since they'll think it's a "girls" toy. Or, for sake of bringing it up, Lego doesn't think Sabine needs to have pink armour...I don't get why such a strong female character needs to have pink as a favourite colour....I welcome the red armour. What i mean is that Disney decided she needed to have pink armour for some reason......kinda annoying....anyway, too off topic so i'll end this here Quote
namioik Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 New video of micro fighters showing the back of the wampa. Not sure if this is a possibility of a new mold for the d2c hoth set or the old one from 2010 Quote
Venkefedo Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) What i mean is that Disney decided she needed to have pink armour for some reason......kinda annoying....anyway, too off topic so i'll end this here Disney didn't decide that. There is a Rebel's colour guide, too: http://www.starwars....wileks-and-more But indeed it does not really explain Sabine's helmet... For the Kallus/Transport Pilot discrepancy, it could just be the "same color in two different situations looking different", like the many optical illusions trotted out by posts analyzing the "white/gold or blue/black dress" incident a few weeks ago. A gray checkerboard square in the light looks darker than a "white" checkerboard square in the shadow of an object, but the two squares are actually identical. For Sabine, maybe they just don't have the right magenta-ish color and figure dark red's better since the paint around the visor is dark red anyway? I haven't had a good look at the helmet yet. There's always Arealight's neat version if the official one is too lacking. (EDIT: just found a nice closeup of the 75106 Sabine... based on the Rebels' color guide, seems the main helmet should match the armor as it doesn't get its own color code, so dark red seems appropriate even if it maybe should have a touch more blue in the mix, with the darker paint markings--not the dark red I mentioned before--around the visor getting converted to a brown for Lego...I guess it just seems too starkly 'red' when it should veer closer to maroon, and the pink/lavender stripes on the armor seem too pale, not distinctly 'pink' enough.) Ephseb Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Is the price for the Flash Speeder €39,99 or €29,99? Cause the Droid-Tri Fighter and the Snowspeeder from last year are both €39,99 although I'd pay €25 at most, and the Flash Speeder looks like it's the same size as those. Quote

All 3 of those sets are 30 in the US, so I would guess that it is €40. Quote
Tjahzi Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Which is silly, because 1 dollar is like 0.9 euro right now. Quote
strangely Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Interestingly the C3PO keychain has been updated with a new torso and leg printing. The leg printing is from the Sandcrawler, but interestingly the torso is not. It looks very similar, but lacks the damage and bolt. I'm kind of wondering if this torso is for an episode 7 version of him. Also I just realized now that Lego is doing dual molding for legs C3PO can finally have his silver leg. Quote

strangely Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I haven't seen this. Do you have a pic for it? I just bought it Saturday. Interestingly the arms, torso and legs seem to be a darker gold than the head, hands and hip piece. Quote
