Jedi-Bendu Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 A Wampa? Why not? Already have one.....and adding one would reduce the piece count I guess. Quote
Spyderlord Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Already have one.....and adding one would reduce the piece count I guess. By...one? Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 (edited) By...one? Lol. Example: The Wampa cave+snowspeeder set had 297 pieces and was $ 40. That's +-13,5 cents per brick. Let's compare this with the current snowspeeder set: 278 pieces, 30 bucks....and an average of 10,79 cents per brick. Cleary, the big minifig was the reason for the $ 10 difference I suppose. The Rancor set is also a good example. 60 bucks for just 380 pieces. Hope you understand me now ;) I have the feeling that the inclusion of a Wampa MAY mean we'll be getting more than Echobase piece 1 piece less. More like, 100+ pieces less. PS: I understand those not having a Wampa may disagree PPS: Don't get me wrong, I LOVE big minifigs like the Wampa and the Rancor (which is totally worth it's price)....but I hate paying top dollar for a set that has a fig I already have (and the fig is the reason of the higher price) (don't need 2 Wampas etc) Edited March 26, 2015 by Jedi-Bendu Quote
Only Sinner Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I would bet the set will include at least one Tauntaun. Not sure about the Wampa. Let's say hypothetically, it were to include a Wampa, and you did not want it, I would imagine the value of such a bigfig from a huge and expensive UCS set would be quite valueable on the aftermarket, especially if it has a different print from the last one. No real loss there. I would say just sell it and make a few bucks. I have the older Wampa, and I would be fine with another one, If it were to be included. IIRC, I read somewhere the Wampas (plural) had attacked Echo Base about the same time as the Empire did, but the scene was cut so many people believe the Wampa was a unique creature. Wampas are a native species to Hoth and more than one would be right at home in any Hoth display. Quote

I know the Wampa is not an unique creature (I'm just someone who doesn't need multiples of every fig ).... Regarding the deleted scene: here they are. And while it's Wampa-time: here's a good read http://starwarsinter...ture-maker.html (interview I had with ILM's Howie Weed a few years ago.) nrg Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Correct me if I'm wrong, nrg, but that was old information, right? I'm just trying to clarify, so people won't keep asking you questions regarding the set. Well yeah, ancient news... Quote
wesker Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Hmmm. I hope they don't include a snowspeeder then since it would reduce the brick count of the actual base. For the same reason: no Wampa or battlepack vehicle etc. I agree with this. I want the set to focus on the actual base itself as much as possible. Any predictions on which figures might appear in the set? The Ewok Village had 17 so it wouldn't be unrealistic to expect a similar number. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I thin Echo base will have bot wampa and tauntaun wwould prefer it not too have a snowspeed as we have gotten a heap of the over the last few years. Would like an AT-ST though that would be cool. Quote

Khaled Yousef Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Logical guesses, but we already have all these ones, good versions of them too that needs no update, so if the set came out like that it would be very boring. However I don’t see what else they could add to this lineup… some ground staff perhaps, what’s his name Deck Officer or something. Quote
Tariq j Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I hope we get alot more named figures like Hobbie Klivion rather than just "Rebel Pilot". Quote
Khaled Yousef Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I agree Tariq; new rebel helmet prints are always welcome, Wes Janson is on top of the list for me, we already have Klivian’s helmet. Quote

HawkLord Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 A Chewie with some snow on him would be welcome in the Echo Base set. Quote

BrickJagger Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 This could be new (but maybe false): Brickipedia says that the smallest EP7 set will be Rey's speeder, the one with 717 pieces will be a black and white X-wing, and the largest will be the Falcon. Quote

Nothing from them. Quote

It's just simple logic really, but I highly doubt anyone ever confirmed this. It's Disney, which means the seals are shut tight and "leaks" are what (when and where...) Disney chooses to leak. Quote
Jedi-Bendu Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 There are some new pix from the upcoming Character Encyclopedia at the Amazon site. Here are some of them: Quote
TeamStucky Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I look forward to picking up Rey's "popsicle" speeder Also is this new X-Wing going to be specifically Poe Dameron's ship? I hope it is, so it doesn't feel like an unnecessary reboot of the 9493 set Quote
mrcngrck Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Looks great I'm going to pick up that Encyclopedia Quote
