Flieger Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 This is the kind of nitpickyness from SW fans that drives me nuts. I can see that. The Lothal Rebel cell used a Gozanti to try and rescue Kanan in the finale. Pretty sure a kid could/would stretch his imagination that far to reenact that. Tarkin isn't on the cruiser, he arrives by Lambda-Class shuttle, so by your own logic, that wouldn't make sense. Putting Ahsoka in it would have ruined her surprise arrival in the finale, so her not being there is perfectly OK by me, since we saw the set long before the finale aired. She pilots the Ghost anyways, so again, including her wouldn't make sense. Sabine is seen on the ship in both the first AND last episodes so her inclusion doesn't limit the set to representing only episode 1. You are right that both Tarkin and Ahsoka would make no sense on that cruiser - which is precisely why I lament that we are stuck with it, rather than having late season sets like the Sentinel Class shuttle Tarkin arrived in. Btw, I am only nitpicking now by pointing out that it was a Sentinel, not a Lambda. If it makes you happy you can pretend it is a late season set all the way, it does not change that vital characters and vessels from the later season are missing and we only get the Gozanti. Quote
Fulcrumfan91 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I hope we see TFA sets....I think we have a pretty good idea judging from the trailer, what the new sets will be..here's hoping one more day at SWC! Quote

OK, Sentinel, not Lambda. They look a heck of a lot more similar than that new large V-shaped shuttle in the new TFA trailer that people are bemoaning as too similar to older craft. I think of it as a late season set because the ship played a far more crucial role in the finale than it did in the pilot. When we saw the leak that it was being released, everyone was confused because it played such a minimal role in the series up to the point where we knew it was coming. The late-season episodes reinforced that it was worthy of including for release as a Rebels set. As nice as getting figures from the end of the season would be, I think the omission to protect the on-show surprises is/was more important. We can have multiple waves of sets over the next couple years to correct for the omissions, but they only get one chance to bring on surprise characters without leaks or spoilers, and I'm glad we got Tarkin, Vader and Ahsoka as just that: on-air surprises, than to have seen grainy leaked images from summer wave sets that gave away where things were going / who was going to show up. atlas Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Is Sabine still around, modifying/painting TIEs? That forward viewport sure isn't the one we're used to. You're looking at the rear of that TIE fighter here. The windows on the top hatch give it away. Plus we got several shots of the new ships from different angles in the new trailer. Quote

scorchfire Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I hope we get new Stormtrooper helmet moulds for The Force Awakens, both the 'standard' troopers which have had a small refresh, and the McQuarrie-esque flamethrower ones. They made new helmets for Rebels, which is not nearly as deserving, after all. Can't wait for the Chrometrooper as a minifigure too. And, of course, Revan himself... you do know that isn't revan right?? its Kylo Ren. Yeah so excited for the Chrome trooper (captain Phasma) wonder if she will be chromed for real or just shiny silver like the now standard lightsaber hilts Amen to that; losing Darth Maul in the first movie of the prequels was really stupid, he could’ve made the other two movies a bit more interesting, with all the rivalry and hate between him and Kenobi. I agree that the sets should be revealed, we can already tell what they would be from the trailer, and just like they used to do in NYTF they can do it without showing the box art so there won’t be any unwanted character names reveals. yeah Maul was really underused in the movies, good thing they redeemed his character in the Clone Wars, gave him amazing arcs. I am guessing we will have a press release for at least one of the sets from TFA maybe the new Xwing Quote

Venkefedo Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Ugh, I knew they were going to dig up Rex....I just don't get why everyone loves him. He was just a generic, no-nonsense captain. ...who grew more than most other clones over the course of the show, from his encounter with Cut Lawquane to the betrayal of General Krell to Fives' warnings about the chips. The teaser showed scars on the clones' heads--so Fives' warnings were heeded, and Rex & his brothers had their chips removed so they would no longer be automatons at the Chancellor/Emperor's whim. Made a couple screengrabs from yesterday's HD image releases, highlighting one very new vehicle and a couple of others... Is Sabine still around, modifying/painting TIEs? That forward viewport sure isn't the one we're used to. I don't think the big-V ship is a new mod of a Lambda, and the boxy ships with it are new, too, I think: A few observations: That isn't a forward viewport on that TIE, and the guns firing on the hangar are mounted underneath, likely on a swiveling cannon--it's some new breed of TIE, possibly a 2-man ship, with giant 'gears' on the inside of the side panels; another can be seen docked in the upper left of the screen during that shot in the teaser, illuminated by the explosions. As for the ships in the 2nd image, it may not be a Lambda but might be a successor of it, or Kylo Ren's personal ship perhaps... the little ships flanking it (you can also see at least one in the hangar scene) are likely troop transports that we saw the stormies about to leave in the first teaser--one such ship may be where we see Finn remove his helmet in the new teaser. NathanR Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Hi, no one seems to have mentioned this but some hints about the first Star Wars spin off have been officially released: http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-32376871 This spin-off is set for release in Decmeber 2016, but is set before Star Wars IV and involves the Death Star (sorry for being cryptic but I don't want to risk spoilers, it's all in the link anyway if you're interested). Back around April 2nd there was a rumour of a new Lego Death Star set replacing the current one next year - coincidence? I don't think so... Quote

Maybe not all of them, probably only the ones like that TIE, that have the fat gears on the inside of the wing panels... note that the cannon shooting backwards is UNDER the body of the TIE, not built into the sphere like the forward cannons are on regular TIEs. That rear 'window' is for a gunner, perhaps. Quote
afolaus Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) Very minor spoiler, if that. Apparently Han's jacket featured in the teaser trailer is a duster/trench coat sort of similar to his coat in ROTJ without the camouflage pattern. People who were not happy with the robes printing on the Obi Wan from the cantina and soon the be released Shuttle Tydirium Han Solo ...probably won't be happy with the TFA minifigure. The set from September I'm most anticipating to see used to be the new x-wing but I'm sure TLG will knock it out of the park and it will be a must buy for me, but now the set I'm most curious about is the MF. I'm curious to see how it's different from previous Falcons, if much at all, from design to build. It's a similar piece count to 7965 which I own so it will have to be a great improvement to make me want to buy it. Colour me excited. Edited April 22, 2015 by afolaus Quote
Darth Punk Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 The outside of the TFA MF is pretty much the same other than the dish. Most changes are of the interior. Plus I'm betting the set will contain at least one if not two exclusive minifig that everyone are going to want. So you can reenact we are home scene. Quote
HawkLord Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I really like the coat printing on Han and think it turned out well. Leia's poncho also works really well, though it might benefit from some belt printing to break it up. Quote
Lobot Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 It seems a bit odd that Leia has a fabric poncho, whilst Han's trenchcoat is printed.. perhaps it's an attempt by TLG to create a discussion point! I still think that the printing is getting too much - I much prefer the rebels from 8038! Quote

I still think that the printing is getting too much - I much prefer the rebels from 8038! I like the Han printing, too; how odd would it have looked if he just had a camo cape, ala older Jedi's "robes"? I never much cared for plain brown capes for bathrobe-wearing Jedi...they need sleeves! Lego would have to do fabric trenchcoats which would either be clunky (probably) to put them on without dismembering the figure's torso, or require removing arms to put them on the minifig like custom-vendor trenchcoats, and I don't see them doing that. I got a CapeMadness Endor coat and made an easy Endor Han custom with a spare Han, but I'm also looking forward to adding the printed version to my collection. Re: Leia's poncho, I'm not sure a belt print would look good...it'd be all fuzzy, as her poncho looks similar to the CMF Hun's cape. Quote
