atlas Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) One thing I do find disapointing about all these Episode 1 sets is that none of them include Padme. They could have easily thrown in a Theed Battle version in the Naboo Fighter and Flash Speeder, or updated the Tatooine outfit for the Infiltrator. This, so much. Infiltrator could have included Shmi (never produced), handmaiden Padmé, Jira (never produced), so many other characters. But guess what we are really lusting after? The dozenth iteration of Anakin, which also appears in another set *in the same release wave as this one*. It's laughable. Star Wars is already dominated by male characters but Lego, with the exception of Leia for some reason has completely neglected just about every female character there is when there's an appropriate place for their inclusion in a set. This new infiltrator is the perfect example of this kind of thing. So frustrating. The same goes for the flash speeder. Perfect opportunity to include Padmé in her naboo outfit, which she wears for a significant part of the film, including its climax, but guess what? Actually we need more battle droids. rollermonkey Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Over the years, how many sets were based on Clone Wars? ...and Ahsoka Tano appears in 2? It really is pretty bad. But enough about that, how many times do you think Finn (Rey?) will appear? It seems like she's one of the principal characters... Quote

Ahsoka appears in 7 sets total according to bricklink, which I suppose is almost respectable. CW had an absolute deluge of sets though. Padmé's deal I'll never understand though. She has all of the coolest costumes as well! Lucasfilm, Kennedy in particular have been pretty emphatic about the elevated role and presence of women in this new trilogy. I hope that is also reflected in the lego sets. I think it's unlikely Rey will have multiple costumes (she's wearing her 'scavenger' kit on the Falcon as seen in the Vanity Fair stunt), as Finn does, but it basically an open secret that the little TFA set will be her speeder, and she'd be a lock for an appearance in the Falcon set also, which would logically include Finn in his deserter gear as well. Artizan Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Here's another shot of the Infiltrator along with a close up of Qui-Gon and Darth Maul courtesy of just2good. I'm not sure I really like the new Darth Maul face. While the thicker lines are nice, the smile seems a bit out of character and the tattoos look inaccurate compared to previous minifigures. Wow he looks more cartoony than ever.. Quote

Hopefully she'll be in several sets over the course of the sequel trilogy... It's nice that she'll likely appear in small sets, too, unless her speeder is thrown into one of the big ones. Quote

Jacob Nion Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Oh No, not another Snowspeeder ;( You're aware it's episode VII? We have not the slightest idea yet what a first order snowspeeder is supposed to look like. It definitely won't be a episode V hoth speeder! Edited June 3, 2015 by Jacob Nion Quote
Venkefedo Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Oh No, not another Snowpeeder ;( This could be quite different, tho! It's essentially an Imperial snowspeeder, so likely not just a T-47 (or, allowing for 30 years, a T-52 or whatever the Resistance might use for combat airspeeders). It's the first snowspeeder I've been excited about since... Well, okay, since the Microfighters one (it's cute!), but otherwise in a really long time. Quote

wesker Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Nice to finally get confirmation on the names. Most of the sets are more or less what we were expecting. A bit of speculation on what characters we might get: 75099 Rey's Speeder Rey with headgear, Stormtrooper Finn and BB-8 75100 First Order Snowspeeder Snowtrooper, Snowspeeder Pilot 75101 First Order Special Force Tie Stormtrooper, TIE Pilot 75102 Poe's X-Wing Starfighter Poe Dameron, Princess Leia, Astromech Droid 75103 First Order Transporter Captain Phasma, Stormtroopers 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle Kylo Ren, Flametroopers 75105 Millennium Falcon Han Solo, Chewbacca, Rey with hair, Civillian Finn and BB-8 I haven't really been following spoilers so I don't know much about where the remaining characters fit in. I'm sure we'll see Gleeson's character, Supreme Leader Snoke and Maz Kanata in there somewhere. Luke it wouldn't surprise me if they held off until the January wave just to keep his role in the movie a surprise. Quote
Clone 01354 Productions Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I have a feeling that the Falcon will be more or less the same as the 2011 one......but I also have a feeling that all the important/rare/exclusive minifigs will be in that set. Also, using a euro-to-dollar converter, those prices are scary. Quote
NNOPMOC Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Since the first order snowtrooper is based on an old McQuarrie concept I wouldn't be surprised if the first order snowspeeder is based on an old McQuarrie concept as well. This? or this one? Maybe this one? Although I love McQuarrie concepts, I don't think I'm alone in hoping that the new "FOS" is markedly different given that it should be unrelated to any former Rebel vehicles. Yes, those prices are scary. Gotta wonder if Disney are pushing for a higher price point because it's a new SW film and it's approaching Christmas, and what weak willed parent will refuse the demands of their untamed, illdisciplined offspring to purchase every new set? . . . [speaking as a parent who has no trouble saying "No" if the little parasites don't deserve it!] After all, we're only talking about $670/£450 for the entire Winter release! darththeling Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) 75103 First Order Transporter: would this be a new version of the Imperial Shuttle, or perhaps a new version of the (Star Wars Rebels) Imperial Troop Transport, updated for space transport? I was looking at the trailer image of Kylo's command shuttle returning to the star destroyer and wondered if those little rectangular blobs could be Stormtrooper transports. EDIT: The prices. I can't believe we are looking at around $35USD for the smallest kit. Yikes. Edited June 3, 2015 by darththeling Quote
Fuppylodders Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Those prices... £50 was a nice price for the previous X-Wing and Tie Fighter, but at the limit. Unless they throw something significantly good in with them, Im concerned that the new X-Wing and TIE fighter sets will have a naff bit on the side just to bulk it out that no one will care much for having, but that we have to pay for regardless Quote
Jacob Nion Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Dear USFoLs, Don't fear those prizes. It's easy: I assume these are only the french prizes, therefore the german prize for e.g. the falcon will be 150 €. And you only have to change '€' into '$'. 150 bucks. That's it. Yes, in fact we are paying more than you. Since the first order snowtrooper is based on an old McQuarrie concept I wouldn't be surprised if the first order snowspeeder is based on an old McQuarrie concept as well. This? or this one? Maybe this one? PS: Here's a pic of Lego headquarters....just after they heard there are Snowspeeders in The Force Awakens and they can release 6 versions of that vehicle the next 8 years: That first concept was made by Joe Johnston and the idea behind it was to use the Y-wing's cockpit as speeder. I doubt this will be the First Order vessel. And I really don't want reuses of mcquarrie concepts in the new film. It is a neat thing about rebels that they make it look like mcquarrie's legendary artwork. But for the film I want to havea few new vessels. It's okay to use the TIE fighter. And I can't really complain about the white colour; and to have new versions of stardestroyers and stormtroopers is just logic. But to convince me they have to offer me new ideas that I can fall in love with. And I guess they know that. I mean, the ball astromech, the shuttle, the first order transporter, those are all new. So why shouldn't that snowspeeder? Edited June 3, 2015 by Jacob Nion Quote
