legolandia Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 That is extremely sad. I only remember him as looking like Count Dooku. Just googled pictures of him recently, oh my jeese he had aged! I never even realised how much! You never watched Lord of the rings? Quote
NNOPMOC Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I notice, also, that they are using the same armour shape for the greaves as for Jango Fett and Commander Cody. I hope that "when" they make the OT Stormtrooper they will have the decency to make two types of greaves - one with and one without knee plate. The rest of the armour (apart from the forearms) looks like it would translate straight acrossto an OT Stormtrooper (though the chest printing will undoubtedly be changed). Quote
Artanis I Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 You never watched Lord of the rings? I think he meant what the actor looks like in real life. As Dooku he looks like himself, (and 10-15 years ago looks quite well,) as Saruman he is covered in make-up & white fairy floss, and hard to see what he actually looks like in his 90s. Quote
Cyberfounder Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Those crap-figs should have their own thread. Amen! Quote
Jacob Nion Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Amen! They actually have in the action figures subforum. And there are other ways to say that you don't like them. E.g. "I don't like 'em" instead of "meh, crap!". Quote
Nekchir Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 "Constraction is Lego's evil baby!" "Blargh they're not real Lego!" "Ugh, crap! Garbage! Hogwash!" Bleep-blergh-blopp blaaargh Quote
Slurpifier Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 ...shouldn't that Stormtrooper be in the LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors topic? More than certain that the First Order Stormtrooper is to be released on the 4th of September, so it should stay here. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 More than certain that the First Order Stormtrooper is to be released on the 4th of September, so it should stay here. Nope, the first batch of Constraction figures (Jango, Obi, Cody, Luke, Vader & Grievous) is going to be released in September, whereas the second wave (First Order Stormtrooper & additional TFA figures) will reportedly hit stores in January B2T: I've just assembled the latest wave of sets and I'm so glad they've finally managed to reduce the amount of instruction manuals to one for each set, UCS style Quote

Pretty much this, he was bearded up you could only really see his cheeks, forehead and eyes, and that doesnt give much of a whole face. Didnt realise he was 80 when he did the PT. I also didnt realise that first order trooper was a render, actually thought it was a cleanly pictured and edited for effect; physical thing. While grievous naturally takes to the constraction build style because of how he is anyway, i think the trooper is close second in styling and looks. He seems done better than all the rest for some reason. Quote

If thats the case, its sort of weird for that reveal then by TLG. Obviously, the other two toy releases (by Mattel and Hasbro) are First Order Stormtroopers as well, that are slated for a 4th of September release. TLG could have (or honestly should have) revealed Rey's speeder instead. Quote

Rey's Speeder wouldn't fit that theme, and it's still only an assumption that whatever's in her set isn't "spoiler" material--there could be an odd figure thrown in, like Watto/R2 in the Sith Infiltrator, Queen Padme in the Bongo, etc that doesn't belong in that scene. Cyberfounder Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Is that constraction crap the only thing they revealed??? :' Quote

I did catch on to the theme when Entertainment Weekly published images of the three companies Star Wars reveals yesterday. Obviously I'm speaking out of my own opinion that Lego shouldn't have revealed a Constraction Figure, due to the amount of hate it generates. But then again, it is Disney who play the cards on who gets to reveal what at this stage. Quote

That doesn't mean that's all we'll see at SDCC by any means. I did catch on to the theme when Entertainment Weekly published images of the three companies Star Wars reveals yesterday. Or that a vocal minority on some Lego fan sites hate it, or even that AFOLs in general might not care for it--if that's even true. And it's up to LFL and Disney's marketing team to decide what to reveal, and when. Edited June 12, 2015 by Venkefedo Quote

And it's up to LFL and Disney's marketing team to decide what to reveal, and when. I didn't say that I dislike the Constraction Figure at all. I merely just pointed out that TLG doing a reveal of a Constraction figure would generate negative criticism, clearly shown in this thread. Lots of comments here on Eurobricks, Brickset, Flickr, Youtube; the list goes on, seem to have a distaste for these Constraction Figures. I do agree with you; TLG don't really give a whoop about what we think about it, as long as it makes them money when The Force Awakens is released. Quote

NNOPMOC Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Ugh....wake me up when we see some real Episode VII sets.... I kinda have to agree there. There seems to be quite a bit of critisism flying about for sets we haven't even seen yet. I'd like to see more positive "news" in this thread. Talking 'smack' about a particular product or line ought to be in a different thread. I, for one, am hugely looking forward to SW constraction figures, as I have been ever since Lego released Bionicles (if not before) as it opens up some great possibilities for truly awesome scaled MOCs. Imagine a constraction Scout on a scale Speeder Bike, or a constraction scale AT-ST . . . . . . Dammit! . . . now that's two more to add to my MOC list. . . Quote
ISDAvenger Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I agree. The only construction set that looks even half way decent is Grevious. The rest look shabby. Ugh....wake me up when we see some real Episode VII sets.... Quote
just2good Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 LEGO released this video today, which gives us a better look at the new Sith Infy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkKmr9M7S7U Quote
Flieger Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Thanks! I think it looks nice. Not the best, but not as bad as some people say it is. Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Always on top of a everything! The more I see of the Inflitator the more I like it. I don't think it's as bad as some say it is. Quote
Artizan Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 The set goods look, but the grin on Maul's face irritates me. Quote
General Magma Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) The Infiltrator does look alright to me. We do have to remember that these are sets - they're never going to look like MOCs by master builders. They would surely be able to do that, but they won't. All in all, the set is OK and the minifigures are the best part of it, as usual, especially Maul, though the inclusion of Watto doesn't make sense to me. Is he Maul's secret apprentice? You're still in your system make-believe land. "Constraction is Lego's evil baby!" "Blargh they're not real Lego!" "Ugh, crap! Garbage! Hogwash!" Bleep-blergh-blopp blaaargh I myself am fine with the constraction figures, but there's no reason to enforce your opinion upon those who dislike them, nor is there any reason to tell them they can't or shouldn't think what they want to think. 99% of the Star Wars subforum revolves around LEGO System (SW) sets, so the dissatisfaction towards the constraction figures was and is to be expected. You're a fan of Bionicle, we get it, so you can stop ridiculing those who aren't now. Edited June 13, 2015 by General Magma Quote
