Krulis Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Yes, it looks female from the looks of it. You can tell by the lips Those are not lips, it's clearly mouth and chin. So it's male pilot. Quote
TheWolffe Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 They'll end up releasing the white and blue one next wave I bet. Maybe with a smaller piece count fewer figs. I just hope they do we all want it! Quote
Vodnik Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I actually compared the MF photo to the 7965 I have on the shelf and while it indeed is very similar in places, it is also significantly modified at the same time. And I mean the main structure, not colors or greebling. It is certainly much flatter. Quote
General Magma Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Those are not lips, it's clearly mouth and chin. So it's male pilot. Yep. It looks like the figure has an upper lip because of the "nose area" of the visor, when in reality, he really doesn't Quote
IronFish Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I like the two sets leaked, and I'll probably end up Bricklinking a blue and gray (or blue and white) X-Wing to go with the Black and Red one. The only thing that's a little disappointing is the minifigure selection, and how they've fallen into the trap of other sets based of of films, and it seems as though every figure is exclusive to each set, and it's pretty hard to get the main cast when on a budget (Seriously no Finn in Rey's speeder?) Quote
djmangunz Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 I am also a bit surprised that we didn't get a Stormtrooper version of Finn. It seems as though Lego is emulating the Jurassic Park minfig strategy by spreading out the main characters throughout the line with the exception of Rey and BB-8. I actually don't have a problem with how BB-8 was depicted in minifig form. I honestly can't think of another way Lego could have made him. Quote

The new Falcon seems to be FAR more accurate and visually appealing than the previous version. Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 did I miss something? There was a rumor that in 2016 a new Death Star would be coming out with new minifigures. I'm not sure how this dispels the rumor however. I expected this one to be retired before we got a new one anyway. Quote
Renegade Clone Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 What a relief to see a new windscreen cockpit piece specific to the X-wing! The original generic 1999 piece has long outstayed it's welcome. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 ... and it seems as though every figure is exclusive to each set, and it's pretty hard to get the main cast when on a budget (Seriously no Finn in Rey's speeder?) Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get plenty of Finns, Poes and Reys in future sets, they're the new main characters after all And like previous main characters in both trilogies, they'll probably sport new outfits in every single movie Quote
Athos Posted July 15, 2015 Posted July 15, 2015 Any chance of getting the pictures put somewhere easier to find, so I don't have to wade through 285 pages of stuff, in which I'm not interested, to find the one post I want to see? Steve Quote

Markalus Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I think the orange & black color scheme on the X-wing will grow on me...very reminiscent of JEK-14's star fighter as others have pointed out. It's interesting that the box art on the Falcon shows Rey and Finn piloting it and not Han & Chewie. I know the original cast members are only suppose to be playing a 'support' role so I guess it makes sense. I suspect with the hype of Ep.VII and the exponential growth in the popularity of Lego retailers will struggle to keep up with demand for the new Star Wars sets! Quote
strangely Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 BB-8 is a little underwhelming to me, granted I really don't know what I expected. I like the new Falcon, but whether or not I buy it will depend on the interior as that's been usually the weakest element of the design of this ship over the years. Finn's hair is awesome, we've been needing that hairpiece for years and finally we have it. Quote
Gadzooks Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I don't think that we will have the same vehicle two times but in different colours. Maybe we can change the colours with BrickLink. It wouldn't be the first time TLG was redundant, citing http://brickset.com/sets/4502-1/X-wing-Fighter and http://brickset.com/sets/6212-1/X-wing-Fighter. Quote
djmangunz Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Wait..where is Luke Skywalker in all of these minifigures? Despite his role in the film (of which I have no idea because I have been trying to avoid spoilers) you would think Lego would include on of the most popular SW characters somewhere in the first line... Quote

Mr Meleca Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) the X-wing opens it wing manually, like the 7140 ??? is the piece of the millennium cockpit new? Edited July 16, 2015 by Mr Meleca Quote
djmangunz Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 If you didn't avoid spoilers, you'd know why he's not in the first wave. That sounds ominous and makes me glad that I do avoid spoilers so I can enjoy the movie rather than knowing every detail prior to its release date. Thanks for not being a jerk and spoiling it for myself and others. Quote

Thanks for not being a jerk and spoiling it for myself and others. Eh, it's not really ominous... click if you wanna see, no other spoilers involved. He's rumored to only be in the film for a short time at the very end, pretty much Quote
djmangunz Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Curse you, you temptress! ( I admit, I clicked your spoiler ) That makes sense. I wonder if that logic applies to Leia as well and if that is why there isn't a minifigure of her? Wait...don't answer that. At least all the figures we have seen so far have been magnificent and will make up for a lack of a few Original Trilogy characters. Quote

djmangunz Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Yeah, I did see that, thanks! In fact, the video J.J. debuted at SDCC was one of the reasons I was surprised that Leia wasn't made into a minifigure. But Poe and those awesome new pilot helmets numb that pain Quote
strangely Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 And I'm just now spotting Chewbacca's weapon. That's pretty sweet I have to admit. Quote
