I thought Leia first of all as well, but I guess the Reddish Brown hair, which leia hasn't had for years, says otherwise.

No bad thing in my opinion!

I'm positive the figure in the video isn't Leia. She should have a light coloured vest, white gloves and the braided hairpiece seen on previous Hoth/Endor figures. Lego got it right with the 2011 minifigure - the only changes that needed to be made would have been using the Shuttle Tyderium face and possible leg printing.

*snip*

The figure in the video has a darker coloured vest, no gloves and a simpler hairstyle in reddish brown - just like Toryn Farr. The only inaccuracy is the closed vest which should be open for both characters.

Here's the action figures for comparison:

When I first saw the video, my thought was that it was Toryn rather than Leia. We have already had two different Hoth Leia's so I'm not that fussed about another. At the moment, the mini fig selection is the only thing interesting me in this set. I like the look of the updated K-3PO and the all new droids. I am loving the introduction of new Hoth officers and Wes. I already have around 60 Hoth troopers and 60 snow troopers so the new designs of these frustrate me a bit, they do look good though.

From the box dimensions and piece count I think this is going to be a larger version of 7666 with a 'Battle of Hoth' trench and turret out front with the shield generator and ion cannon floating around somewhere too. It would ruin it even more if they chucked in a new Wampa cave for good measure too. I hope I am wrong!!!

Well, if it is Leia, I sure hope they make a few changes first. But, I'm quite certain LEGO designers wouldn't take a step back from the 2011 version, they are quite accurate these days with what they create. So, my guess is that this is indeed a new character, possibly Toryn.

if anything it will be the new MF, but I get the feeling that they will keep everything under wraps till Sept 4th.

that doesent make sense, they wanna promote the event beforehand.

So D23 is happening soon. Do you guys think that Lego will finally show ep 7 sets there? I mean it's last big Star Wars event before September 4, so it has to be D23 right?

What's D23? Sadly I think the first we are going to see (aside from leaks and what not) of the new sets will most likely be on that force Friday with maybe a few hints in the final few days

they want to promote the Movie, the one that comes out in December... September is plenty early, and as many know hype alone is a form of promotion. if it were me making the calls on this, I'd be posting everywhere I can with silhouettes and ? marks on everything trying to drum up hype about Sept 4th. but still leaving everything hidden to a decent enough level that people would be wanting the day to come just to see what it was that was so secretive. at the same time there was a leak already and the MF and new X-wing boxes have been seen by some, so with D23 coming up maybe I let those show "early" knowing that a large amount of fans have already seen them. it gives people a reveal they ask for and keeps things that haven't leaked hidden until later. then ride the hype wave from September till December and capitalize on sales the whole way. but that's just what I would do (and there by what my guess is for TLG to do)

Someone on Hoth Bricks mentioned the appearance on Brickset, and had the same thoughts. But maybe they copied/pasted the Ewoks village infos? Who knows...

The box size is the same as Ewok Village, rrp is the same and the weight is very similar. Assuming it is Echo base we can deduce the piece count is probably going to be very similar (around 1900) and I would assume a fairly high number of minifigs. Ewok village was a winner so I would not be surprised if the brief was "make another Ewok Village" but with snow, no trees and no Ewoks!

it would be really unwise of lego. People want to see sets before they go out to store on September 4 to buy sets. Even hasbro and hot toys have unveiled their ep7 toys. Why is Lego doing it differently? I doubt that seeing 7 sets will spoil movie for people. Most staff the sets are based on were shown in the trailer.

I certainly hope Lego reveals the sets at least two weeks to release. Would be crazy to think we won't know what the sets look like officially until day of release. I just don't see that happening. We just have to be patient for more leaks or worst case scenario official info later on.

Wonder why the Mexico leaks have stopped.

Could Kylo Ren and General Hux be Chinese made minifigs due to having arm printing? Would explain why they haven't leaked yet since Chinese factories would be harder to infiltrate than Mexican ones I would believe.

Lego normally reveal all there sets before they are released though don't they?

Not always. The first we ever heard of the current MTT was when it showed up on store shelves in Czech or somewhere near there.

No one knows whats in the NDA that Lego and all the other companies had to sign for the new movie. If they are not allowed to show anything before, then they won't show anything.

I don't know about you guys but with information and photos leaking about future sets happening ALL the time, I actually don't mind not knowing what they look like till we get to the stores. It reminds my of my childhood when I stepped in Toys R Us and seeing the 1999 sets all for the first time, quite exciting! Plus, doing this would probably lead to spur of the moment purchases as well haha

Personally, I hate it. I need to be able to plan what I'm going to buy on the 4th.

Several hundred dollars worth of LEGO can't be a "spur of the moment" purchase for me.

I realize that TLG is likely under strict orders from Disney, but that still doesn't

make it any less annoying that we have to rely on leaks for sets that are being released in a month.

I've noticed that I'm probably alone in this opinion, but, I need to vent somehow.

I agree with you. I can't go to store on september 4 having no idea what to buy. The biggest question in this situation is it because of Disney, or because of Lege themselves we haven't seen official sets pictures. It it's because of Disney than we have no right to be mad at Lego for this, but other toy companies have already revealed their ep 7 toys, which makes me think Lego themselves don't want to show us pictures yet.

That's a good point. It would've been awesome to see the LEGO version of the Special Forces TIE Fighter alongside Hasbro's, at the very least.

Either way, the wait is really getting to me. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who's this impatient about this type of stuff.

We've seen three and a half sets. We've seen Rey's speeder broken in pieces, poes x-wing, millennium falcon, and the box art of Kylo ren's ship but no minifigure pictures of that set. We're going to get pictures early August and I can wait patiently.

I will say it again...I despise the fact that Disney got the rights to Star Wars. I won't tell people that I'm disappointed with the fact that a new Star Wars film is coming out, but I am discouraged by the fact that this is now a Disney franchise. I dislike the company greatly. The fact that they're hiding everything makes sense from a pursuit of profit point of view. As the other member on the forum stated, they would buy all the sets in the "spur of the moment". Yes, that's exactly what Disney wants you to do. Spend a ton of money on products stamped with the logo of a very famous franchise. I'm beginning to fear that the movie may turn out to be abysmal and it wouldn't matter anyway because Disney's racking up the funds they received from any fan consuming products on September the 4th, the so-called 'Force Friday' or from fans going to watch the movie. I'm very afraid for this franchise and it's mainly because of Disney's eternal pursuit of greater profit. As I said before, this is my own personal opinion.

I will say it again...I despise the fact that Disney got the rights to Star Wars.

Disney films are competently made just about every time. For that reason, I honestly think there is a 100% chance that the next film will be better than Episodes I, II, and III. It is essentially impossible that it could be worse precisely because Disney is a large, competently run business. There will be many producers and focus groups and talented people involved at all levels, checking to make sure the product is appealing, competently made, and finished. Maybe that sucks some of the soul out of the process, but it completely fixes the source of the problems with the prequels. The only way those movies could have been made in such an amateurish manner is if one person with limited abilities, surrounded by yes men, had nearly complete control.

And to bring this on topic, is it really appropriate to complain about Disney seeking profits because they are not giving us enough information about what toys they're going to be selling? I mean, I check this topic for leaks just like everyone else, but I've never once felt entitled to any leaks or information leaks about the upcoming movie. In fact, it boggles my mind that anyone could angry about Disney trying to keep things secret, in advance of a movie that most people want to be shrouded in secrecy so that their viewing experience is not spoiled.

While that art will be on the box, it's actually the instruction manual cover we saw, I think, hence no minifigs pictured on it.
