Alfadas Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I have searched on google, and couldn't find anything worth mentioning. Does anyone know if the next wave of SW will have more Rebels sets? As I said, I couldn't really find anything. Quote
darththeling Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) Definitely most curious about the FO Transport... We really only think that we know which ship in the previews it is, we could be completely wrong. True this. In the SDCC preview video thing last week there was an excellent wide shot of the interior of that transport (the one we think we know it is) and the troopers are really packed in there like sardines. There doesn't appear to be any space for them to sit, just stand. Looking again at the stills from the trailer (when Kylo's shuttle approaches the Star Destroyer with four of these transports as escorts) I was thinking that the outside of the ship may be similar in appearance/form to the Imperial Troop Transport from Rebels. They are both trooper "transports." The engines appear to be an array of four diagonally shaped blue ovals at the back and there is a very small extension on the top at what appears to be the back of the vehicle. Mr. Fusions maybe? ;) If 75103 is really the only way to get FO Stormtroopers this is gonna be the Most Expensive Wave of All Time.... and we're going to be knee deep in extra Captain Phasmas! Wonder what the BL prices will be like for the FO stormies. Edited July 30, 2015 by darththeling Quote
Darth Caedus Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 I couldn't disagree more. It's their responsibility as a company to provide consumers with a product. How do they expect to sell that product if they don't even market it correctly? Only a handful of people (hardcore fans) are even aware that LEGO is producing these sets. The only reason we know this is because of leaks, really. The mass majority of casual fans likely don't even know that these products are coming. The only official mention of these sets directly from TLG has been ONE teaser in a Brand Catalogue. That's not enough, honestly. They need to ramp up the marketing for both the movie and the merchandise. This isn't just a problem with the marketing for the sets. EDIT: Also, the longer they wait, the more leaks we'll get. I don't think TLG or Disney wants that. Wouldn't it make much more sense to pre-emptively release official images before the leaks happen? That way, we can see the sets as they're intended to be seen. The leaks are largely irrelevant to the vast, vast majority of Lego's consumer base. Fanatics are the only people actively aware of the leaks, and they're a very small portion of the customer base. As for the marketing, Force Awakens kits don't NEED to be marketed at *all* - the movie has done that for them 100%. The September 4th release also kicks off the holiday purchasing season, and Lego doesn't need to air a single commercial or lift a single finger to ensure that every single one of the Episode VII sets will sell out multiple times before Christmas. Star Wars VII is *the* movie of the holiday season and thus *the* gift of the year. When the January wave rolls around you could reason that we might see a push for those new kits. You just have to put yourself in Lego's shoes: hype has never been greater for a Star Wars, not since Episode I. Hype is the ultimate marketer. That's why there's no need to spend time or resources marketing the first wave of Force Awakens kits - and why most of the sets can just include generic Imperial troops and few main characters - because they're all guaranteed to sell like they're made of gold. I mean, seriously, look at the Jurassic World stuff. Those sets have sold out en masse and you have hordes of rabid consumers hunting the elusive Indominus Rex restock - and JW, for all intents and purposes (and no shade against the film), is just a dumb dinosaur movie. It doesn't have a sprawling canon, it's just a fun summer sequel. And those sets all sold at an absurd rate. Just think how quickly and how insanely the Force Awakens kits will sell. Kids adore Star Wars Lego to begin with, and you've got legions of adults ready to splurge on a new Falcon, X-Wing, and TIE Fighter because The Lego Movie has made Lego 100% cool for all ages in the public eye. If 75103 is really the only way to get FO Stormtroopers this is gonna be the Most Expensive Wave of All Time.... and we're going to be knee deep in extra Captain Phasmas! Wonder what the BL prices will be like for the FO stormies. Only dolts, rubes, and millionaires will actually be armybuilding FO Stormies in 2015. It's easily the dumbest thing the average Lego SW fan could do - we know the history, we know how battlepacks work. Of course a normal FO Stormie will drop in a battlepack in 2016. Why throw $10+ to some third party on bricklink when you'll more than likely to give your $ to TLG in 2016 for triple or quadruple the amount of Stormies? Quote

There are people spending top $ on eBay....for the minifigs of Captain Phasma, snowtroopers etc.....they pay a price that will almost get them the entire set these figs are in. Quote

In the end it's simply economics. If people are willing and able to pay for a product they'll do it. It's they're money so they can do what they want as far as I'm concerned. It's not my problem. It's also demand v supply. At the moment, high demand / limited supply = high prices. Once the sets are officially released supply and demand can return to normal levels, equilibrium is established, prices fall, ect. Unless there is a shortage when released. Hello backorders and price scalpers. Quote
HawkLord Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 That's one thing I love about Lego - nothing is really hard to find. Sure sets sell out occasionally, but with multiple retail outlets and online, I find almost any set even months after release. Other type items, like action figures, that suffer from the whole "one per case" ratios and whatnot are very hard to track down. Lego I've never had that problem with - I know eventually I can catch anything. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 (edited) News on EcHO base????? We know it's going to be $249.99, so it's going to be the size of the ewok village. It will be released later this year. We've seen a video of what seems to have the parts of the echo base and that's all we've seen. Edited July 31, 2015 by amazingbricks Quote
Yamcha Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Thanks amazingbricks although that isn't really news. Isn't going to be released in October? And brikipedia page listed that a 21B droid is going to included. What their reason to list that? Quote
Hulk_Smash Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 (edited) How much bigger then the last version do you guys think the Falcon will be just looking at the pictures? Edit: never mind I figured out it will be the same size. Edited July 31, 2015 by Hulk_Smash Quote

Only private shops and they cost a fortune. Quote

And brikipedia page listed that a 21B droid is going to included. What their reason to list that? There was a leaked factory pic of 2-1B earlier in the year identical to the one in 2011's Echo Base. He didn't appear in the Battle of Hoth video though and there was no sign of the medical bay either so who knows if he'll be included or not. Quote
wesker Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Final Duel only had 5 figures though. I imagine CarboniteHan, Lando and Vader are a must, and likely Luke if they expand the scene to include his fight with Vader. Probably not Boba but an Ugnaught would be fantastic. Outsider would be Chewie and a mangled 3PO! True although Palpatine's Arrest was about the same price and included six minifigures, so I'm staying optimistic! Quote
Chris12399 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 the fact that we have the details on the next wave of sets and havent seen the ones coming before them is pretty worrysome. Quote
Lobot Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Hi everyone, please can we keep this thread for 2015 sets. I'll move the recent posts about the 2016 sets to the dedicated thread in a bit And yes, I'm very excited about the possibility of a Bespin set Quote

Nokturn Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 the fact that we have the details on the next wave of sets and havent seen the ones coming before them is pretty worrysome. Agreed. This only re-inforces the point that I've been trying to make for several months: TLG needs to step it up and show the September 4th sets. The last chance they have is D23. If nothing happens during that event, my interest in these sets will be completely gone, and I will not be purchasing them due to the lack of time to plan my budget. Quote

TLG doesn't need to do anything. the whole "I'm not going to buy if they don't show me early pictures" complaint is ridiculous. Plus, us adults on the forum are a very very small portion of potential buyers. 90% of people who will end up buying these sets will be people who didn't even know about these sets until they see a commercial or just happen to spot them out while shopping one day. Most of the buyers will be people who didn't see leaked pictures online, or see pictures from some type of event. TLG doesn't owe you anything. i'ts as simple as that. Quote

I can't, and I'm sure there are others who are in my position. I swear, this place is just an echo chamber for defending the lack of marketing for these sets... I thought you guys were excited about this stuff? Doesn't anyone actually want to see the sets? Quote

Oh course we want to see the sets, but adults realize throwing fits about it isn't going to make a difference. I, as most buyers can walk into a store and decide if I like a product and don't need months to ponder. And it's hardly unusual for TLG to wait just before a release to showcase new sets. So it seems they may know a bit more about marketing their own product than an a very impatient individual stomping his foot. Quote

The carbon freezing chamber?? Battlefront battlepacks??? Hopefully this list is true. If so, I can't wait to see the images! Edited July 31, 2015 by Terrasher Quote
