TheBrickHitHouse Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Sith infiltrator is out - really has been no enthusiasm for that set, has there? Anyone know why lego tends to release one set each year in August, separate from the summer wave in May? Always struck me as odd... Quote

Anyone know why lego tends to release one set each year in August, separate from the summer wave in May? Always struck me as odd... Not sure how it works in other countries but until this year, due to episode 7, the "hard to find" store exclusive usually comes out with the summer wave which is July-August for the U.S. Quote
General Magma Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Sith infiltrator is out - really has been no enthusiasm for that set, has there? It looks nice to me, it's just that it's overpriced, though, and I'm sure there are others who think the same, too. Quote
Umbra-Manis Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 is the 2016 thread started yet? Yep. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=111762 Quote
TheWolffe Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 It looks nice to me, it's just that it's overpriced, though, and I'm sure there are others who think the same, too. Very overpriced, it's $160 AUD for us Aussies. Compared to Shuttle Tyderium which is $140, you're paying $20 more for 300 less pieces and one less figure. Horrible value for money. Quote
Ultron Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Sith infiltrator is out - really has been no enthusiasm for that set, has there? Honestly, I really like the build and I want an updated Darth Maul but his face just sucks. The minifigs also could've been selected better. No exclusives or anything?? The worst part however is the price. WAY too much. Quote

Yep, that really puts the 'value' side of the equation into perspective! I thought maybe size might explain it but it doesn't...the Sith Infiltrator and Shuttle Tydirium are similar in size (one is roughly as long as the other is high). Lots of expensive large plates? I can see this being heavily discounted, and fast. Can you imagine how many kids ignore it on the shelves once the TFA sets are out and they want the cool ship or character they saw in TFA. Quote

Darth Punk Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 : D23 Expo schedule has NOTHING on it about Star Wars at all. Take that for what you will, but it seems to me that TFA is on its own marketing schedule, independent of what the rest of Disney is up to. https://d23.com/d23-...iday-august-14/ (Saturday and Sunday after the jump) http://www.starwarsunderworld.com/2015/07/the-force-awakens-coming-to-d23.html Quote
rollermonkey Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) Yes, I saw that too, but a shared panel between Star Wars, Marvel and whatever else Disney has going on in the live action department doesn't seem like an opportunity for major reveals. Even if at 2 hours, it's one of the longer panels, Pixar gets the same amount of time by itself. Edited August 2, 2015 by rollermonkey Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 If the price of the Hoth Echo Base is still 250 Dollars, than it can not or at least not only be the things shown in the video! Klaus-Dieter Quote
GallardoLU Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I spoke with a Lego store manager over the weekend and was told that around August 16-17th they are expecting the TFA sets to arrive, they wont be on shelves until the date of course, but I was told that if I am there again before force Friday (honestly I probably wont be as its a bit of a long drive) they could let me have a preview of some of the sets. it may be worth visiting your stores and finding out when they expect to receive sets, and if they have them you might get a preview. Tariq j Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 ^^ Nice, at least looking at the pictures of the remaining sets would be good, of course it would be excellent though if you could see them in built in person. Quote

Eegh, I'd be careful on this one. Lego is already always serious with their Brand Retail about breaking street dates even on lower-intensity licenses like Simpsons or Minecraft, Star Wars and Disney's major spoiler embargo is even more intense. Unless you want to risk getting people at your local Lego store fired, I wouldn't go begging for sneak peeks at the new kits. We already have seen most of the minifigures and about half the sets via the assortment of images that have filtered out so far - just be patient, it's not like September 4th is the only day they'll be sold. Unless one is truly incompetent, lego is going to have a pretty hard time figuring out where one snapped pictures of boxes currently being shipped to more than a 100 different countries! Quote

Panthro Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Well, I just impulse bought the new Sith Infiltrator and got a Winter Soldier polybag for spending over £50. Quote
Hartfan Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) I guess it will be worth visiting TOYS R US this year for "Force Friday". Toys R US just released info about this event and that's a part of the info: "Midnight Openings Descend on Destination: Star Wars in the U.S. When the clock strikes 12:01am on September 4, all Toys"R"Us stores in the U.S. will open their doors, giving customers the opportunity to be among the first to purchase hundreds of new Star Wars playthings, including a wide variety of merchandise they can't find anywhere else.* As an added bonus, little Jedi Knights and their families attending midnight opening events will have the chance to receive special giveaways, including a limited edition LEGO®Star Wars Commemorative Brick and an exclusive Star Wars poster, while supplies last.** Also at midnight on Force Friday, shoppers will be able to browse and purchase the new products online at Toysrus.com/StarWars" LEGO STAR WARS COMMEMORATIVE BRICK... I guess item for collectors You don't want to miss on. I guess more info to come. Edited August 4, 2015 by Hartfan Quote

CM4Sci Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Wait, so will the TFA sets be released during this? Quote
darththeling Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 (edited) MakingStarWars.net has an interesting look at the Walmart Star Wars signage/displays coming to Force Friday. It's under these displays that we will supposedly first see this extremely secretive upcoming wave of TFA Lego. If you're avoiding spoilers, beware. There's a never-before-seen character (albeit very blurry) pic featured in one of the displays. Edited August 4, 2015 by darththeling Quote
