strangely Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's so awesome! I want to love the side leg printing, but the original trilogy set of legs we just got doesn't have that, so I guess we'll probably be waiting a while for that update. Other than the red arm this would work as an Ep3 variation. Makes me wonder what shade of gold this will actually turn out to be. Even better it makes me wonder if I'll finally obtain one that has correctly centered eye printing. Quote
ResIpsaLoquitur Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 OK, need that 3PO. Hopefully he's as readily available as Rocket and Dareth were--my TRU had tons of 'em for awhile. And I'm not down with 3PO with a red arm, but I could always Bricklink a comparable gold torso and pop and switch. Wonder what Polys we're getting. Hopefully a Falcon? A simple mod should make it an easy OT Falcon. I'd guess the TIE, X-Wing (simple color swap with the last X-Wing poly), and that Shuttle. Heck, if we're lucky, maybe we'll finally get some SW polys with some minifigures? Quote
Ultron Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That C-3PO is amazing!!! But it'll be at ToysRus? Booooo. They never have the polys..and scalpers will literally be all over this. I'll just have to be really on top of this. I just really hope this isn't only available if you buy a certain amount. I'm gonna need the VIP points from this wave Any chance we'll get this exact C-3PO whenever we get him in an actual Force Awakens set? Quote
Actor Builder Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Maybe this will help: I heard that there will be a Jar Jar Binks Battle Pack in December. $12.99 USD Three variations of Jar Jar Binks, a Midi-chlorian nanofig (New mold, yay!) and a flick fire missile rock. Discuss! Quote

Markalus Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Is there any chance the Threepio polybag will be a promotional gift with Star Wars Lego purchases from Force Fri? One can hope at least. Quote
Fives Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Is there any chance the Threepio polybag will be a promotional gift with Star Wars Lego purchases from Force Fri? One can hope at least. That would be smart. Get a free 3-P0 with any The Force Awakens LEGO purchase. We can dream... Quote
Legocity2713 Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Love it. TRU is doing great with year-end figure polybags. First Rocket Raccoon now this. C-3PO honestly looks phenomenal. Obviously they will put this on shelves earlier like Rocket, allowing me to have my first ever ever C-3PO, not counting TC-14 of course. Cheers what will be my my 10th Lego Star Wars figure. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Can someone explain how these work? I've never seen an exclusive polybag at my TRU. Are they just there at the store on a little end rack? Quote
Ultron Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) Can someone explain how these work? I've never seen an exclusive polybag at my TRU. Are they just there at the store on a little end rack? It depends entirely on your local TRU. They are not very well regulated or organized like a Lego store would be about these types of things. Some may choose to put them in a bin or on a shelf and others might make it so you can only get it if you buy a certain amount of sets. Sometimes they don't even get the polys! That's what happened with the Rocket polybag. Gotta love TRU and their overpriced products. No wonder they've been slowly closing down their businesses Edited August 22, 2015 by Ultron Quote
ISDAvenger Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 In the past TRU gives away the Exclusive mini figures if you buy a certain theme at a certain amount. Offer is good until they sell out. Can someone explain how these work? I've never seen an exclusive polybag at my TRU. Are they just there at the store on a little end rack? Quote

Well they are often region specific, when it comes to TRU Poly's you can usually purchase them or get them with a purchase of x amount of Lego. I really love that C 3po. Regarding that Jedi Interceptor(that's not related to the film so we can talk about it, right?) I really hope its the one Yoda uses in the Clone Wars season 6 Quote
joebiwankenobi Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 It looks like he may have arm printing near the wrists too! Quote
Nokturn Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Loving the leg printing on the 3PO figure. Very nicely executed. In my personal experience, TRU always has the exclusive polybagged sets available for purchase, entirely seperate of whatever promotion is going on. I'm guessing this is a regional thing, as others have pointed out. I doubt my local TRU gets a ton of business, so in my case it's probably a matter of overstock. The polybags are usually a decent price too, anywhere fron $2.99 to $4.99 depending. Either way, I don't think anyone needs to worry about this polybag being rare or scarce. There's always enough of these things to go around. I've had cases where my local LEGO Store, as well as my local TRU have given me three(!) free polybags, simply because they have too much. Worst case scenario, you'll probably be able to pick one up on Bricklink for a (fairly) reasonable price. Quote
benderisgreat Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 This new C3PO polibag is just phenomenal! I hope he will be available as a gift for buying new ep 7 sets, I mean that makes a lot of sense right? Considering the fact that Lego didn't include him in any sets this wave, he should be gift for buyin new sets. Quote
Lynx Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Looks great! Would like to add C3PO to my collection (Artoo feels so lonely without him). Highly doubt the polybag will make its way to Australia, unfortunately. Quote
Lobot Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 The new polybag looks amazing, I've got to get one of those so I'm hoping that it will be available in the UK. I don't know what it is about protocol droids, but I can't get enough of them! And, yes, it isn't ideal about the current limitations that have been enforced but we've all had the chance to see the sets, so it's not the end of the world, especially when we've got a nice shiny polybag to look forward to! Quote
Robianco Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 That's a superb looking poly... It's difficult to tell if it's chromed on there but if it is then I'll aim to pick two up and replace the red arm with a gold chromed regular arm for an OT version. I, too, hope they get plenty of circulation in the UK... Otherwise I'll be eBaying them. Quote

Discuss! I'm actually a fan of the Prequels and even I don't find that funny. On another note, out of all the sw polybags I have only ever got Revan, but it looks like Threepio will be my second, he's too good to miss Quote
Lego Fett Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) 2 pages of "I need that Threepio!" Edit: Now that i saw it, I NEED THAT THREEPIO!!! Anyway, do you think The lego shop is going to give a poster with a TFA purchase? Edited August 22, 2015 by Lego Fett Quote
Naijel Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 My local Kmart in Sydney, Australia has all their non-Lego TFA toys out - small and large action figures, speeders for small action figures, Hotwheels ships. Are they supposed to be held back till Sep 4th as well? Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Glad I sold my old Falcon as if, hypothetically, a new Falcon was released I might have ended up with two almost identical sets. Perhaps this, hypothetical, Falcon would still have some nice tweaks - such as having the large central covering panel slide back rather than awkwardly lift up (but not stay in place). And perhaps the gun turret would also have a hatch that lifted, rather than needing to be removed. If that were so, at least we'd have an improved Falcon, if not perhaps the comprehensive redesign that we ususally get, and probably could have benefitted from. Quote
