Aethersprite Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Agreed, I'm now of the opinion that they're 2 different ships. In one of the teaser posters released earlier this year, Kylo Ren was posing next to a shuttle that closely resembles Lego's version, but in white. This could mean that this design already existed early on and that it's not the case where Lego was working off early concept art. EDIT: Edited August 27, 2015 by Lockon Stratos Quote
Vectormatic Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Agreed, I'm now of the opinion that they're 2 different ships. Im leaning in that direction as well, the ship in the teaser also clearly doesnt have any bottom wings, while the lego craft features them clearly. They might be closely related in universe, and it might turn out to be the same after all, with lego having based their design on early concept art, but im seeing a little to many differences to believe they are the same ship Quote

BrickBob Studpants Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I also think those are two different ships The question is whom the one in the teaser belongs to... My guess is Phasma, but it might as well be a replacement for the Imperial Shuttles à la Tydirium. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I'm guessing two different ships as well, but hey I guess the only way to find out is too wait and see... I mean Lego have messed up in the past when it comes to colours but surely they couldn't have messed up this badly to point where they don't give the ship the right colour. Quote
Terrynomnoms Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 It has just occurred to me that the female officer minifig in the "lead-villain shuttle" could possibly be TLG making a unmasked out of uniform Phasma figure but covertly as not to out her as a character. Or it could just be a female officer within the First Order, who knows! Quote
djmangunz Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 What I am curious to know, in the midst of all this 4th Friday buying madness, is how fast these sets will sell out? I don't plan on staying up until 12:01 to purchase these sets because I work early the next morning. I'm hoping stores have enough stock that I can buy them the next day rather than everything flying off the shelves at midnight and all the good stuff being gone in the morning like on Black Friday. Quote
Lunchietey Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I could be wrong of course :) But the poster above has all the same features as the TLG release. Maybe the black ship is for the new 'emperor' of the FO? Quote

That was one of my concerns as well. The most recent thing I have to compare it to is that the Scooby-Doo sets sold out in less than 8 hours after they were released. They were sold out on every website that I checked, and I was lucky enough to find the very last one at my local Target. Crazy. If that can happen for Scooby-Doo sets, it can happen three times as fast for Star Wars. One of the only reasons I will be attending the midnight launch is because I feel like I absolutely have to in order to obtain the sets. I don't feel like waiting one month until they're back in stock. I'm really hoping that TLG has produced enough of these sets to satisfy the astronomical demand for Force Awakens products, but the unfortunate reality is that we won't know until September 4th or soon thereafter. Richpepperell Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) On a slightly different topic- if you're in Exeter, this weeks express and Echo has 2 vouchers that can be exchanged for the Stormtrooper Sergeant polybag. You also get entered into a draw to win a trip to legoland, the naboo starfighter and detective office sets. Catch is there are only 250 available, but there were plenty left at 11 o'clock this morning. Edit: sorry, should have mentioned - redeem the vouchers at the Lego store @ Thomas Moore. The sets could sell out quickly in some areas, but I don't think they will be impossible to find. Shops in big cities like NY and LA will probably be out of sets by morning of 4 th, but in smaller cities I don't think this will be an issue. Also I think Lego know that SW sets will be in high demand, so logicaly thinking they should have produced a lot more of these sets than they usually do. On the Scooby-Doo topic I think sets were sold out because lego underestimated the demand for this theme, but they know that SW is their bread and butter and it could make this financial year for them. Personally I am going to get my sets morning of 4 th instead of going to midnight event. Quote

Well, I do happen to live in a relatively large city, so that's probably where my point of concern is coming from. In my experience, new sets are not easy to find when they're first released, simply because everyone buys them all. I didn't realize that LEGO was so popular in my area until I had to start reserving copies of new sets in order to get them in a timely manner. Quote

djmangunz Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 It's good to know I'm not the only one who shares these concerns. My biggest issue is that I have gift cards to two stores I was planning on using to get these sets and that makes logistics slightly more tricky. I may just bite the bullet and set my alarm to get up at 12:01, buy the sets online, and go back to bed since my wife has already laughed off my suggestion of taking the day off to buy and build the sets:( Quote
wilson3a10 Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Agreed! Price in austrailia is the worst in asia region..... Quote

I wish my shops offered preorder option. Quote

Cyberfounder Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) Why is it this much of a big deal to all of you to get these sets ASAP? They will be on the shelfs for the next few months so what is the problem? Edited August 27, 2015 by Cyberfounder Quote
djmangunz Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Why does it matter to you? I, like most people here enjoy the thrill of buying and building new sets when they come out. And I have been burned before when I have missed out on getting sets right away and have had to wait a while them to be restocked. Quote
Nokturn Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) You can preorder sets at your local shop? I wish my shops offered preorder option. It's not really a preorder per se, but I've always been able to call and have them hold any product for me, for 24 hours or so.' Why is it this much of a big deal to all of you to get these sets ASAP? They will be on the shelfs for the next few months so what is the problem? As djmangunz said, it's very possible to miss out on the initial stock of sets, and then having to wait a relatively long time to get more. I have no patience to deal with that kind of stuff. Call me entitled, but everyone deserves a chance to own these products at the exact same time, and it does suck that we sometimes have to deal with waiting for them. That's why I love midnight releases. No waiting, you just get to buy your product, go home, and have fun with it. Edited August 27, 2015 by Nokturn Quote

benderisgreat Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Why is it this much of a big deal to all of you to get these sets ASAP? They will be on the shelfs for the next few months so what is the problem? Because it will take them about 2-3 weeks to restock sets. Why would you wait that much time, when you can buy them on release date? It's not like they will be on discount by Christmas, in fact the closer tho Christmas the harder it'll be to get this sets. So it's best to buy them on release day. I had experience of not getting Ps4 on releases date back in 2013, had to wait 2 months for another chance to buy it. Another example why you should get sets on release day: in February when Avengers 2 Hulkbuster set was released I rushed to the shop and bought it for 30$, the next day set was sold out. Now this set retails at around 50 $ on Amazon and is hard to find in store. So Ep 7 sets are day one purchase for me. Quote
rollermonkey Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I wonder if the white shuttle could belong to Snoke? Quote
Richpepperell Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Just picked up 'Rey's Speeder' in John Lewis in the UK! No force awakens sets online, but they are listing the 2015 advent calendar as available now. Price is stated as £25 - for some reason I thought it was more expensive this year. Quote
