Richpepperell Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Only 5 days left... Better make space I'm going eBay crazy for this very reason today! Not getting rid of much Lego, but m Millennium Falcon 7965 is going to make way for the new version! Quote
JimCanuck Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Disney is the type of company to insure that the toys are accurate to the movies. Otherwise kids get more disappointed and say "that doesn't look right, you bought me the wrong one". Jim Quote

TheAmazingDarkKnight Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) Changed my mind on Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle. Read some good arguments for it ,specifically all Iconic Star Wars villains almost never come out in sets cheaper than 50$. I really want to get Kylo Ren so I guess I will have to buy while set that a dislike just to get his minifigure( general Hux is also nice to get). So I will have to buy set with Phasma later in September. Well, keep in mind that Kylo MIGHT come in a set in 2016 that is more expensive..but you might like a lot more. So, maybe it'd be okay to wait and see if he's going to be in a bigger set, that you like more and would rather save up for, rather than getting the set we currently know he's in. I thought about this too, but people who saw January sets say that Ep7 sets are medium sized which means less chance of getting Ren. Bet he might appear in summer 2016 wave. Quote

ISDAvenger Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) It's a MF nerf gun....how detailed do you expect it to be. Not a good example. If it was Hasbro/Kenner MF there would be some issues. Edited August 30, 2015 by ISDAvenger Quote

So I will have to buy set with Phasma later in September. You're making the right call. It's very possible Kylo won't even be in the January wave. And Hux is a non-dynamic villain which makes him unlikely for a second appearance anytime soon as well. <Iron Man 3 as example of Lego which has nothing to do with the film> The exception rather than the rule. Iron Man 3's marketing was a deliberate false flag op, Star Wars just has a lot of secrecy around it. Most of the sets all make sense to what we've gleaned from trailers and tidbits, the only question is the whole Kylo's shuttle wing articulation mystery. Everything else looks on-point. Quote
Lego Fett Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) You were saying? *snip* *snip* Yes, but those are completely different categories of toys. You never see that ultimate showdown or a Nerf-firing falcon in the movie. You see Kylo ren's shuttle in the trailer and this ship is made reenact the ship from the trailer. If it is the same craft Lego did a very poor job. However, i doubt LEGO will make such a horrible mistake so i think it is a different craft. If it is the same craft Lego did a very poor job. However, i doubt LEGO will make such a horrible mistake so i think it is a different craft. The fact that the Titantium Series version looks the same implies two different craft to me. If not, it's just a case of concept art gone wrong, which happens - look no further than the Hobbit line. The Yazneg White Warg debacle, the Beorn set of no basis in theatrical or extended editions, the statue-ring in the Dol Guldur battle and outdated Necromonkey, Azog missing his final armblade in the BOFA set, Witch-King resembling the FOTR Weathertop version rather than the AUJ or definitely the ghostly BOFA style. Though in that last case, a blessing in disguise since it allowed fans to recreate a much more iconic scene than the crappy Nazgul stuff in the Hobbit films by just getting all five of the Weathertop Twilight Nazgul (or going all out and getting nine, which is what I did since normal Ringwraiths are ironically more expensive). As a matter of fact, it wouldn't really be anyone's 'fault', per se. It's just that the toys come out before the film is even finished, so they had to work off of early concepts. Plus, one of the greatest things about LEGO is that you can change anything that you don't like. Since it's been confirmed that the wings on the set do not fold outwards, I will be modifying it myself to fix that. I suggest you do the same, rather than blaming TLG for making such a "horrible mistake." Edited August 30, 2015 by Nokturn Quote
darththeling Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) We have a major mistake in the Star Wars Lego line - http://lego.wikia.co...7103_Jedi_Duel . Released in 2002, it's Yoda vs. Dooku in the Geonosis hangar and the crane is infamous for bearing no resemblance to the pillar that Dooku loosens in his battle with Yoda. In fact, TLG later revisited the set (75017, 2013) and got it right the second time. Very screen accurate of course, because, the film had long been released. TLG likely had the Attack of the Clones Lego line planned out in the year 2000. It's a massive flaw to have a set from a film that includes a functioning crane that was later changed (in post production) to a giant pillar. My guess on (Main Villain's Starship)? The ship is wrong. That wing configuration in the trailer is for atmospheric entry/re-entry. TLG was two years behind in planning this. We're going to have to get on the mod to fix those wings to angle 45 degrees, guys. Trust me, it's Lego. It can be done... and it will be. Edit: By the way, Ultimate Showdown 76008 looks like Iron Man is fighting a janitor villain with a ride-on vacuum cleaner. Edited August 30, 2015 by darththeling Quote

jhaelego Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Now that we have confirmed Kylo's ship doesn't have the wings that rotate 45 degrees, do we know whether or not the ship in the movie has the retractable wings like the lego set, along with the rotation? Quote
Fives Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 All this discussion about the shuttle is slowly siphoning the living Force from within me. I think that, like many other have stated, there are two main shuttles in the film. Kylo Ren's shuttle seems to be his personal ship, unlike Vader who had a TIE and would use standard Imperial shuttles for other transportation. I think that the V shaped ship from the trailer must be either Snoke's, Phasma's or Hux's, or just a nondescript ship that is part of the First Order fleet. Quote
Rayskull Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 The Masked guy has a normal printed mask. His ship is cramped but very detailed including small ramp that folds down from the forward compartment. The pics and video I found do not focus on the wings much. The engines look great. The greebling continues on the underside....I really want this now....I have no room though. Now that we have confirmed Kylo's ship doesn't have the wings that rotate 45 degrees, do we know whether or not the ship in the movie has the retractable wings like the lego set, along with the rotation? The poster I linked to like 5 pages ago showed the live action Shuttle without the 45' bend....and no obvious way to bend that way. Everyone ignored me... Agreed, I'm now of the opinion that they're 2 different ships. In one of the teaser posters released earlier this year, Kylo Ren was posing next to a shuttle that closely resembles Lego's version, but in white. This could mean that this design already existed early on and that it's not the case where Lego was working off early concept art. EDIT: Not completely ignored. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 It's few days actually. The day that the TFA sets will been officially released is September 4th. Yeah, actually I was more thinking of a comparison to the source material being the actual movie versus the lego set... Quote
